Melting Me Softly is pulling me in with these adorable posters, set images, and teasers that they are dropping pretty much on the regular. Initially I thought this show might be more on the sad reflective sad, so I was kind of avoiding it, but it looks like they are going all out comedy with this premise of two people frozen on accident for 20 years, and who must keep their body cold or risk melting. Oh, plus they are falling in love with each other which makes their heat rise. It is a strange idea, so I’m pretty glad that they grabbed their magical umbrella to fly along with the cooky of it all.
Melting Me Softly stars Ji Chan-wook in his drama comeback after military service and Won Jin-ah whose last role was a pretty serious one as a doctor in Life. Right now, it seems like the comedy genre might fit her perfectly because she looks like she was born to innocently pout, dramatically stand, and cheekily grin with the best of them (just look at the photos, she even has a good beast mode). Though I like Ji Chan-wook, right now I want to tune in for Won Jin-ah, she just looks so adorable.
One funny thing about Melting Me Softly, is that it looks like it might be the mans idea and his overall fault that they did the experiment to begin with and were thus frozen for twenty years? Of course this leads to all sorts of bickering between them and possibly a slap or two thrown is as our heroine (and okay, hero) grasp this new current Seoul with its increased prices on everything and these new fancy flat screen cell phones. Though I’m sure they will delve into all the many differences that 1999 and 2019 have to offer, which is a lot. I mean, Netflix wasn’t even a thing back then right?
Melting Me Softly will premiere on September 28th on tvN, and it looks like it will be available to stream on Viki!
