They walk to the top of this mountain, Hye-won looks out over the river and town. She thinks it is great, she can see this in only an hours walk. She tells him that actually, for her she can’t look at him in the eyes. Because he doesn’t like her so she just has to accept that. But she can’t do it, sorry.

He say no and looks like he regrets something. She tells him that he was too warm. That is why she thought he liked her, but she will not do it anymore. She looks at him and says that he told her not to do it so she won’t. But, Eun-seob….

Though she doesn’t say anything. She starts to leave.

He grabs her sleeve to stop her. Then he drops his bag and leans in for a kiss. She is taken aback, but closes her eyes. They keep kissing. He holds the back of her head. Then they part and look at each other.

Flashback to a boy sleeping on the floor at the B&B. A girl walks down the steps and looks at him. She asks, who are you? He looks at her standing on the steps.

VO – From that moment until now, I always loved you. If I tell you that, what kind of look would you give me?

In the present he keeps kissing her and kissing her.

TITLE: THE SECRET OF THE BOY WHO HATED DUNG BEETLES

They walk down the mountain together. She happily takes his hand as he helps her over some tougher spots. They get to the river and she asks him to hold her. She extends her hand. He thinks – I like you. And takes her hand.

He helps her walk back over the rocks on the river. A bubbly song places as they smile at each other and walk.

They get back to the town and keep walking. When they et to his place he tells her that he will call her when he goes to Seoul. She says okay and waves goodbye. She is so happy. She waves again when she gets to her street.

B&B

Hye-won gets home and is so happy to see her aunt and her dog. She chases the dog around the B&B and doesn’t even care if the dog tries to bite her. Emo thinks she is so strange.

In the bookstore, Eun-seob sits inside and thinks.

VO – But….but, Hye-won….

In a flashback, little Eon-seob pets baby chicks and softly holds one.

VO – I was always worried about warm and soft things.

As a kid he sees a baby looking at him from a crib and pinches its cheek lightly.

VO – Just in case my insecure moment of happiness disappears at once

MORNING

The town starts to wake up. A delivery man takes things to different people in the town. They smile happily to each other.

Whi rides her bike to school and complains about the seat.

Hye-won wakes up and stretches, it is a new beautiful day. She looks out the window and smiles happily. her aunt calls her name so she goes downstairs to have breakfast with her.

her aunt asks if she is happy? Hye-won tells her yes, nothing is bad. When did you decide to cook? The aunt tells her just recently, there is a deep reason so just eat. The phone rings. Hye-won gulps then hurries and grabs it. She makes sure her voice is lice and pretty as she answers. But it is only the electricity person. So she gives them instructions and hangs up, bummed.

Elsewhere, Eun-seob is in a warehouse talking to a woman about books. She tells him about the books they have here and then asks him about his book he is writing and if he will ever publish it. He tells her there are many good books in the world, he does not need to add one. She tells him that is nonsense, his book will be one of the good ones.

She tries to tell him to give it to her, yu said your dream was to write a novel. Why are you hesitating? But seh says it playfully and tells her that she thinks the book he is looking for is somewhere else. She runs off to try and find it.

Back in town, Hye-won fixes her self a tea and sits to enjoy it.

VO – Life has Day and night. 

She looks at the phone

VO – Some people are always shining, some people live in darkness all the time. 

She starts to read her books.

VO – (HW) Do you know what people are afraid of? 

VO – (ES) The sun that shines on me disappears.

Eun-seob looks at the sun from the book warehouse.

VO – (ES) The light goes away and you cannot see the sun anymore.

The light starts to approach his feet, he looks at it.

VO – (ES) It would be better if I didn’t see it.

he thinks about Hye-won and her smile

VO – (ES) I know the warmth, I looked at the sun and squinted

He puts one foot in the sun and then the other, stepping forward

VO – (ES) That is why they are afraid.

He keeps slowly walking into the sun.

VO – (ES) But Hye-won….I like you.

The woman calls Eun-seob’s name, he walks off to her.

At home, Hye-won waits for his call by the phone. She is literally just staring at it, willing it to ring. But it isn’t so she checks to make sure it is working and sulks in front of the couch.

In town, Whi rides her bike to school, her love interest also rides his bike. He passes her on his bike so she petals faster to beat him. But she is too tired so she take a break. he passes right by her and makes a little comment. She gets so annoyed and throws hre bike on the ground while huffing and puffing.

THAT NIGHT

The news says that there will be a big snow storm. Hye-won is trying to read and tells her aunt to turn the TV down. Then she looks at the phone. It still hasn’t rang for her. 

It starts to snow outside.

MORNING

Eun-seob drives back home the next morning. Several inches of snow are all over the ground. he opens up his house and goes inside. Later on when he goes downstairs he sees Hye-won sitting in the living room and asks when she came? She says just now.

She also says that she thought he took the train there. He tells her that he parked his car at the strain station. He starts to make a coffee. She says that she will head out, he says that he is leaving soon. She asks where. He tells her that Jang-woo has an event that he planned. He asked me to come.

She tells him okay, bye. But she wonders if this is an event that she can’t go to? She asks him. He asks, what? She says that he didn’t say they should go together. But he says that she can come, we can go together. Let’s get ready. But she says she will not go. He asks why? She says no, I don’t want to.

He smiles and tells her to come to him. She says she does not want to. He laughs and tells her to come here. So she does. He asks why she sounds mad? She says she isn’t. He says she is. She tells him she isn’t. So he says that they should go together. She tells him no, she doesn’t want to. So he asks why. She tells him that it seems that he feels uncomfortable to with her. Maybe he regrets things? Maybe what happened in the mountains was a mistake? I don’t want us to be uncomfortable.

He says it wasn’t a mistake. She asks how she can believe it? He tells her, let’s do it again and make it so it isn’t a mistake. He Kisses her again in his kitchen. It is a long soft kiss. He looks at her, she says she thought he hated her. He tells her, of course not. Then he gives her a hug and she smiles. he apologizes. She is super happy.

THE EVENT

They go to the event together. they are holding hands. It looks like this is a cultural event. jang-woo tells everyone that they will start and Yoon-taek comes out as the MC to lead the event. he mentions that he knows they wonder who the person without a face is. They all laugh. He says that if they turn in their cell phone voluntarily then their writer will show her face. That is why this is a surprise event.

Hye-won and Eun-seob sit together and think that a lot of people have shown up. The woman comes out, she is pretty young so Hye-won whispers in Eun-seob’s ear that she thought this person would be an old grandfather based on her name. 

Jang-woo sees them whispering, they look very close.

Meanwhile, Emo walks into another building. It might be the book event. 

Flashback to her talking with a man and woman there who ask her about Cha Eun-taek. They heard that they went to school together. They mention that when he publishes it is always a big hit so they just wanted to get information about how that happens. They both chuckle.

They also talk about Sim Young-choon who is having the writing event right now. Her book is already a bestseller after two weeks. But they mention that their book will be better. they keep asking her questions and wonder if it is true that Yoon-taek and Shin Young-choon date? She is a woman right?

Cut back to the book event. Hye-won leaves but is stopped by Yoon-taek. 

Inside the event, Jang-woo starts to clean up. The woman Eun-seob rescued is there helping. Jang-woo mutters small talk about the food tray to her. She says that she thinks his friend came. Jang-woo says he did, did you see who came with him also? She asks, that very pretty woman? He says yes, Hye-won is pretty.

The woman mentions that it looks like they are dating so I didn’t want to suggest to eat lunch together. Jang-woo thinks they shouldn’t’ be dating. He looks at bit flustered and gets a phone call where he has to go to another meeting. He hurries off.

COFFEE SHOP

Myung-yeo and Eun-taek go chat at a coffee shop. She tells him that he became a proper man. He tells her that she got older. She asks if he still cries a lot. he asks if she still curses in public. She tells him that she heard that he is divorced. He says yes, three times. She says good for you, you are so easy *sarcastically*. He tells her it was all love.

He mentions that he thinks he saw her in front of his place in Seoul. She mutters that he is a ghost like a-hole. People start to look at her. He asks don’t you think what you wear is distinguishable. She tells him that she heard he is super successful so I just went there to see how big your house is. it is big, do you rent it?

He says no, I bought it. So she says good for you.
