BUS STOP

The rest of the book club people wait at the bus stop. Geun-sang asks Yong-soo if he is reall the top of the school? He mutters that he is. Geun-sang is pretty impressed. he looks at that as something that exists but doesn’t exist.

Whi tells him that Yong-soo is really the top of the class. Geun-soo tells her that she is the hubae so why does she use banmal? Hyun-ji says the same thing. Yong-soo tells them it is because she likes to use banmal so that is why she uses it.

Geun-sang asks why she used jongdaemal with him? She tells him to think about it ajusshi, have I always only used jongdaemal with you? Is it always in your head? She kind of hypnotizes him and they all giggle.

Hyun-ji asks Young-soo why he always smiles when Whi says something, do you really like her? He stops smiling and says that he is smiling because it is nonsense. Do you think what she says makes sense? Hyun-ji says nope. Then Whi starts to talk a lot about how they are all engulfed in her irresistible charm. They all wonder where the bus is.

EDITOR

Myung-yeo finally calls Yoon-taek. He is distraught and asks what this fax means? It appears that he has been distraught all day. She asks what the problem is? I told you. (It appears that this is the first line of her book). He asks, is that it? Do you think anything else? is that why you left me with 34 missed calls?

Is that why you were calling me like a crazy person? You told me you would never ask me what is true and what is not true. You said fiction and non-fiction.

he hangs up.

EUN SEOB AND HYE WON

Eun-seob walks Hye-won back to the B&B. She looks at the light that is so bright now and jokes that someone fixed it. Do you know who fixed it? He bashfully says that they can keep walking. She laughs. She tells him that she can come over when Emo goes to sleep. He asks if it is possible? She says it is possible, emo is a lot less sensitive than you think. It is true.

After dropping her off, he walks back happily. But he stops and we see that Bo-young is waiting for him at the B&B.

They go inside where she puts the book back. He asks, are you here to return it? You didn’t have to come all the way here only for that. You can call me when I go to town.

She tells him that this is just an excuse. then she walks over to him.

BY – How is Hye-won?

ES – Good.

He gives her a tea.

BY – I….liked you before, for a long time. For a really long time.

ES – I didn’t know.

BY – What if you knew it Eun-seob?

ES – ….Nothing would change.

BY – ….okay. It is okay. I expected that. thank you for the coffee. Goodbye.

She leaves. Then we see a flashback of her and Hye-won riding bikes together. She tells her that she likes the lonely guy in their class, she likes him so much.

VO – I liked him first.

Bo-young starts to cry.

VO – Yes, it doesn’t matter if it is longer.

In high school she sees people giving Hye-won roses. Hye-won is uncomfortable with it.

VO – the main person was Hye-won all the time.

Bo-young looks at Eun-seob who is looking at Hye-won receive the flowers from someone.

VO – Even you who was in the corner of the picture, also liked Mok Hye-won.

Hye-won walks in one way with all her admirers and friends. Eun-seob walks in the other way right past Bo-young.

VO – I am here also, I exist.

In the present, Bo-young turns around and looks at the bookstore.

VO – Like this….like this….

Somewhere that night, Jang-woo happily drinks a beer and thinks about Eun-sil calling him. He is super happy. He looks at her Instagram and then we go into a high school flashback.

He is walking with some of his friends who tell him that someone likes him. He tells them that he doesn’t like girls right now, how can you go to college if you are always talking about girls?

But then Eun-sil bursts through their group. She happy turns around to apologize then runs off to her friends. She has something yummy in her hands to eat. Jang-woo is mesmerized. His friends remind him that he said he doesn’t care about girls.

In the present, he happily smiles as he thinks about this and eats a ton of sweets alone. He also has that photo he showed the kid and his Hye-won’s face with one of the candies, lol.

B&B

Hye-won tries to sneak out of the house. But her aunt comes in so she has to pretend that she just got back, lol. She goes back upstairs.

In the bookstore, Eun-seob looks at a love letter he is writing. The title is “My first love letter to you (edit 133)”. He starts to continue to write it.

ES – That day I saw you through the window.

He nervously looks at her.

ES – You were there with a hurt face just like me.

He hides but then peeks around to look at her again.

ES – I want to go, no, I shouldn’t go because I am sorry. Just forget about all those.

he stands up to walk to her, but doesn’t

ES – I started to follow you.

The train comes. She sits in a window seat. He sits in a seat way in front of her and peeks around to look at her. She opens a juice box and starts to drink it and wipe away tears. He watches her curiously.

She gets up to leave.

ES – You got up at Chongdo station.

She starts to walk around Chongdo. He follows her from a pretty big distance. 

ES – It is a city with a lot of persimmon trees.

Trees are all around them as they walk.

Hye-won goes to the river.

ES – A clean river was flowing there, I was afraid that you would jump in to that place.

He calls her aunt.

ES – Hello, Emonim, I am Jong-pils son. Lee Eun-seob…ah, okay – noonim. Well, actually I am outside, do you have time?

He looks at her and she is walking away.

ES – Well…

Hye-won walks away and goes to the place where she ate her meal. He goes there as well and reads a book and watches her eat. But after reading he realizes that she left so he starts to run to find her. But he can’t see her so he starts to run around more frantically and rubs his head and runs back to get his phone.

We see emo talking to him and saying that she is almost there, why are you all the way over here?

ES – I called your emo.

Eun-seob continues running around looking for her. 

ES – But I was afraid, just in case you died. Just incase you die.

He keeps running around the river. but then he hears her aunt yelling at her and hitting her for being crazy. He is able to relax and catch his breath.

He stays there looking at them sitting and chatting. Then he leaves happily.

ES – And that is the first fall trip that we took together.

He keeps writing this story happily but then Hye-won runs in and says that she successfully got away! He quickly closes his computer and smiles at her like he isn’t doing anything important.

She asks, what are you doing? He says nothing. She asks, what is that? He tries to hide his computer. She tells him she is sad and angry. He says it was an online order! So she tells him, let me see it! He says no. She playfully tells him that she is mad and is a jealous person.

They go outside where he shows her how to chop wood. But he completely misses the wood. He tries to play it off and says that he showed her that sh should not to it. That is what I just taught you.So, as I told you, you need to follow the line.

He tries to chop it again and misses it. He tells her that he ruined the sharpness of the blade. then asks if she would like to try it. She says yes so he gives her the gloves.

She says, maybe II won’t be able to doit. he says it is difficult. She tells him that she played around with it at home a little bit. He tries to show her how to do it. She jokes with him and says that he did it differently, he really swung the ax.

He says that experts can do it that way, but beginners really have to just swing a little bit.

She says okay and then does it perfectly. He asks, how did you do it? She says she followed his instruction. He asks, um, is it your first time? She changes the subject and says that her shoulder hurts, maybe you should do it.

he says okay, the first time I showed you what you should not do, this time I will do it properly.

He super focuses and manages to hit it right in the middle, but it does not break at all. He goes inside.

Meanwhile, Bo-young is walking on the wooded path in the dark. She looks at all the tall trees.

In a flashback, we see a woman telling another that a woman has disappeared, Eun-seob went to find her as well. Bo-young overhears their conversation. The woman asks why Eun-seon is going there? The other woman tells her that he used to live in the mountains. That is why they sent him there. They need to find her, it is so cold. Let’s go see if we can do anything for them.

Bo-young’s mother tells her that she can go home (she is one of the women).

In the present, Bo-young keeps walking in the woods. She looks over a steep incline that would be a dangerous fall, but one you can survive.

Back in the bookstore, Eun-seob and Hye-won sit outside happily. She asks, what should I do, I like you so much so what should I do. She smiles at him and rests her head on his shoulder. She asks, what about you. He says, me too.

They sit like that happily and look at the stars.

In the woods, Bo-young thinks, this is real Eun-seob. Even for nothing people, there is truth in them. We see flashbacks of her looking at Eun-seob in town and fixing her makeup to be around him and going to the bookstore to see him. But he never gave her any extra attention.

In the present, she calls Eun-seob.

VO – I just want you to know about it, whatever happens. I want you to know.

In the bookstore, Eun-seob and Hye-won have a lot of fun playing inside and joking. His phone rings but he does not notice.

VO – I want you to know it.

COMMENTS

Gah, I love this dramaaaaaaa! It definitely has some dark parts with the mothers background, but the town moments put me in such a soothing mood. Eun-seob and Hye-won’s entire love story is so wonderful.

Though the return of Bo-young is annoying. I hope that it is settled quickly at the begining of he next episode though I do have this sinking feeling of dread that something bad could happen. Argh, hopefully he just goes to the woods to rescue her and that is the end of that. Or maybe he will call some people and not go rescue her since his mother does not want him to do that?

Sigh, we have one week wait to find out!
