(Spoilers Ahead) In today’s episode of When the Camellia Blooms, we had some revelations about the serial killer that is nicknamed Gabuli for the Gabul-ji-ma note that he leaves on all his victims (which loosely translates to “Don’t act up” though there is no direct translation). Not only was it revealed that Dong-baek is a witness to Gabuli, she also might have been a potential victim. That is news to Dong-baek herself, who thought that all her troubles were brought by only seeing the back of Gabuli, not being a potential victim of him.
However, in the epilogue we see that she served Gabuli a beer at her bar and gave him free peanuts. All of this happened on the date that he wrote his signature note “Don’t act up” on her wall. It is the same note that Yong-sik found on her wall while he was painting the entire room white (it was a whole ordeal that involved the peanut man, you will have to watch it to know why).
I initially thought that the peanut man (aka the landlord) was Gabuli, but this episode eluded to it being someone different, perhaps someone we have not seen yet. However, I still think it could be the peanut man. Perhaps that day was the one and only day that she gave him free peanuts, which is why he is so fixated on receiving free peanuts from her. But that is only my guess.
This episode also introduced a potential other woman who could be the victim in the harbor. Right now it stands that Dong-baek has a bit of potential to be in the harbor as well as her part-timer Hyang-mi (do to Hyang-mi being a slight kleptomaniac). But now, I think the reporter could also be a potential person in the harbor, especially since she is digging around in places she should not. The more people to add to the list the better because I definitely do not want to think of Dong-baek as the woman, specially since this is supposed to be a ro-man-tic-co-me-dy, hello.
Did you catch the episode? If so, what do you think? Any other theories out there? I’m all ears.

How abt Yong-Sik’s mother? I am not sure she can be the killer, but in one scene, while she was talking about her two children, they showed the hand writing of her on the boxes of Kimchi that she was sending to them, I was like why they showed the handwriting up close in that scene. Maybe, it can be looked like the handwriting of the killer.
I dont think it will be the mother personally. I dont think she went to visit the bar that often. Besides it seems like the person did some research on serial killers and while she got some things wrong here are a few facts about them. They are mostly male. They usually kill the opposite gender (which makes this case weird and doesnt really fit in with any serial killers) and they like to return to the scene of the crime. The person also would have known about the surveillance camera and is a rather large size shoe. Serial killers are also very much drawn to positions of authority. For this reason I think that it could be the police officer/chief in charge. He seems to be the one to fit the bill most and he is always returning to the crime scene and he is in a position of authority. He also wont attract attention in the bar since he is a local and the bar is also mostly visited by men. The way he also heads the investigation and got mad at Young-sik for psychoanalyzing the fire also speaks volumes to me…but hey I might be wrong
My hunch is Park Hong-sik . At the end of the fourth episode there is a scene where there is someone who is holding a lighter while Yong-sik is painting the wall and he is wearing a white gloves in his hand where in the third episode the only one who is wearing a gloves is Hong-sik who is repairing the sink. And i think Hyang-mi is his accomplice and she is the one who let the killer get in in the bar that night, she let the lock of the door open. But It’s either Hyang-mi or the killer is the one who erased and burned the hand writing on the wall. Hyang-mi likes to take lighter, remember on second episode she takes a lighter and put on her pocket.
I think its the handyman who fixes stuff around her bar and in the most recent episode installed a security camera. She always offers him free food for his work, knows his way around the place and no one would expect its him cause he seems timid. In the flashbacks she offered the killer peanuts which is something she would do for him. She saw the killers shoes that were dirty and had a reaction but brushed it off, probably assuming since hes a handyman its normal to get his shoes dirty.

I think it could be the handyman too! Though I also think it could be Kyu-tae, since they pinned him out as a suspect today, that seems less likely.
I think its the handyman too
It is definitely a male.
But what if it’s her unknown brother? Why is the mother all sudden came back?
There was never a reason why she left her daughter.
Her dad is also not in picture!
Her mom is protecting her daughter.
But why does she steels from dongbeck.
But i think the girl who got killed in the flashbacks, is not dongbeck but her partime worker.
Dongbeck did her bracelet in a box because she didn’t want to wear it anymore?
I thought i first place also the handyman or one of the police boy’s.
Because of the killers figure.

OMG, does she have a brother??? That would be a big twist!
I think the handyman too.
Remember the people presenr when the CCTV camera was installed? That’s tbe reason joker sprayed paint onto the camera… I am just waiting for him to cough.
