KOREAN DRAMA V.I.P: EPISODE 13 (25&26) RECAP – PART 1

Sung-joon drops Yurii off at her place. She asks him if he would like to come inside. He says no so she is about to get out. But he tells her that he has a question. That day, the first time we met each other again after breaking up. Why did you do that? Why did you send that text to Jung-sung?

She looks startled and then says that she wanted to make a crack between you two. 

He thinks about that for a moment.

Elsewhere, Jung-sung is on the side of the street. She pulls out her phone and angrily puts it to her ear to call someone.

Yuri sees that she has a call from Jung-sun. So she tells Sung-joon that she is going inside. But she does not and tells Jung-sun where she is.

Sung-joon starts to drive away, but then looks back.

Cut to Jung-sun walking with purpose to Yuri as she waits by the building and then slapping her like she means it across Yuri’s face and gripping her by her colar as she yells, How dare you send me that text! You crossed the line with your innocent face! You have a limit okay!

She throws her to the ground and Yuri goes crumbling. But then Sung-joon comes up and helps Yuri up. Jung-sun asks him if that is why he took the CCTV? To save her? She slaps him hard across the face (not hard enough!).

Jung-sun tells them both that everyone on the team knows about this. that you are having an affair with Park Sung-joon. You need to leave before you see even worse things.

Jung-sun storms off. Sung-joon stares at her as she goes. Yuri whimpers.

Cut to Yuri and Sung-joon sitting in her place. He tells her to get some rest. Yuri say it is all herfault. She envied Jung-sun when she started working.

Flashback to Yuri starting work and Jung-sun helping her get settled. 

VO – Then I knew, I cant win over this person. Why is this kind of person your wife? I was so pitiful. I was angry. I did not want us to be nothing. I wanted to make any kind of blemish. But…

Flashback to Jung-sun helping Yuri through difficult times and helping her in the office. She was very nice to her.

VO – But, she is such a nice person. I regretted it. I know I am a bad person. But don’t hate me. Please. Just don’t hate me. 

She looks at him with the big ol eyes filled with tears. he holds her.

At home, Jung-sun sits at he desk and looks at the divorce paperwork. She rips it up

In the office, one of the employees looks at an email and says, wow! Daebak! Look at this!

Another employee runs to the computer and her eyes grow big. In the office report it says that Bae Do Il is fired.

Hyun-ah gets to work looking fabulous as always. She waits at the elevator. It opens and Bae comes out with his box. He tells her that she thinks it all ended. Just wait, I will come back and finish you.

She sighs and walks right by him to get on the elevator.

OFFICES

In the offices, Yuri sits quietly and Sung-joon sits quietly. Hyun-ah comes in. Yuri’s face brightens, but hyun-ah ignores her and sits at her desk.

Cut to Mina at an inquiry into Bae’s sexual harrassment and assaults. She tells them about his advances on her and confesses that she delivered the video for him.

In an execuives office, the execs talk about how they are losing a certain percentage of money. They think this is due to the issue. Young-woong thinks it will all go away. But Jae-woong says that it is a big problem because their target customers are inside Korea. Another company with a similar issue did not recover their sales yet.

The CEO noona tells them that their consistent response is what is important. So don’t try and cover it up. The move for covering it up will bring a bigger issue. Today is our company anniversary. We can make it a small affair only among the executives due to the public image. Our funadmentals are strong, that has not changed. We can get over this issue with our competitiveness.

The meeting is adjourned and the CEO asks to talk to Sung-joon. The VP looks at them.

The CEO and Sung-joon go to her office where she tells him that she will follow his proposal about Bae. She also asks him if he has thought about it. He says he is sorry, but he will not do it. Thank you for the offer.

She thinks that he should take it if he thanks her about it. He says that he spent a long time with the VP, he trusts me and I also owe him.

She tells him that she is sorry for herself and for him. 

In the office, Yuri goes to Hyun-ah and tells her she has a plan for the gift card. Hyun-ah tells her to just leave it there. Yuri keeps talking and ays that as she knows I am not good enough, i need to learn a lot from you. Can you mentor me?

Hyun-ah tells her that this is not school, just learn our own work. Yuri goes slinking back to her desk. Hyun-ah tells her that she thinks she is doing this because of Na. Work is work and private life is private life, I dont care. But you cannot have everything, right?

Yuri sits back at her desk and tries not to cry as she starts work again.

Outside, Jung-sun talks to the HR lady who called her before. Jung-sun asks, huh? The new CEO called Jung-sun? The woman says yes. For the CEO, there are too many of the VP’s people everywhere. Your husband is one of the most noticeable. The CEO wants to make the VPs people on her side or fire them. What do you think he will do? DO you think he will be on the CEO’s side?

Jung-sun thinks back to what the VO’s wife told her, that the VP will never give up manager Park. So Jung-sun tells the HR woman that he will be on the VPs side.

In the offices. Sang-woo secretly puts a lot of treats and candy on Jung-sun’s desk. It is Captain America lollypops and chocolates and things like that. Jung-sun catches him doing it and asks what he is doing.

He is bashful and tells her that he got it all on the street. This chocolate makes you feel good because it blocks cortisol. She picks up the Incredible Hulk and presses the button then laughs. He says that he just wants her to cheer up. 

He smiles and goes to his desk. Mina comes out looking nervous and stressed, so Jung-sun talks her out to coffee. Mina looks at a woman who is 9 months pregnant while there and tries to get her mind off of it.

Mina tells her that she talked about her video thing. She thinks it is okay if she gets punished for it. But if she gets punished then she will not get promoted. Lasting too long will affect the company. What am I doing? Soon, my stomach will be bigger so I think I should quit.

Jung-sun tells her to take a day off. You suffered a lot. Just enjoy time with you kids. You worked a lot.

VP’s OFFICE

Sung-joon is in the VPs office and hands him a file. Sung-joon says that Yuri’s customized diffuser was popular among the VIPs so we will make it a regular thing and continue it next year also.

He also asks if he is going to keep her in the VIP team? The VP says that the VIP team is still a new department. So having any of my people in the VIP team will make the CEO cautious about it.

The VP tells Sung-joon that he knows what he worried about. But it is her job to survive over there. Even so, I should slowly prepare.

Cut to Mina hanging out with her youngest son and walking him to the school bus stop. She stops jut shy of the other mothers and waves happily at her son who hops in the car and heads off.

Then one of the mothers or maybe grandmothers or perhaps nanny comes up and asks if she is a working mom? She thought so because she hasn’t seen her. This woman says that nowadays the mothers are so much. People will think that they are just meeting their kids after the war. It is okay, when kids grow up they don’t look for their parents.

She tells Mina that when the kids are around you, just love them a lot. Eveyrone does not have everyting. My daughter also works. I think you are like my daughter. See you. Mina bows as the woman walks away.

OFFICES

Ji-young goes into the office and says that it is very empty. Hyun-ah tells her that Jung-sun went to founders day. Ji-young thinks, huh! That is a couples event!

Cut to this event where people are sitting around a conference room with stadium seating. Sung-joon is there greating people. One of them asks where his wife is, he says that seh is busy. 

Jung-sun goes right up to his side and hears that she was too busy to attend. She tells them that her schedule changed and then bows and goes to sit. When they sit, she tells him that people are watching so relax.

JS – I thought about what will haunt you the most. I am not getting divorced.

He looks at her strongly.

SJ – It will be hell to each other

JS – I told you, we will go to hell together.

The CEO comes in with all her people and smiles at Sung-joon and Jung-sun as if she knows something. Yuri comes in and looks at them both with her usual lost look. Then everyone sits and the meeting gets started.

MALL

Meanwhile, Byung-hoon goes shopping for his wife. He wants to buy comfortably shoes for pregnant women. The woman gives him a couple options. He also asks if he should get it one size bigger if her feet swell? The woman thinks that is a good idea and heads out to get them.

He takes the shoes to the office. One of the employees asks if he has another woman. Byung-hoon is all like, where is your mind? I bought this for my wife for her to be happy. His friend jokes with him and says that he is going to heaven now.

Byung-hoon thinks back to telling Mina at the mens’s club that she should quit her job! I can support you! Just quit!

She told him not to say that so easily. Why do I do this? I even feel sorry to my kids. I also wonder if I have to do this much. I wonder what I really want. But if I give this up then i won’t be able to do anything. I know that surviving won’t make things happen, but I don’t know any other way. This is the only thing I have after working so hard in my 20s.

I worked so hard and to get a job I had so many part time jobs to graduate from college and to survive in the company – I tried my best. If I quit here, all the time I spent to do this…it will all vanish.I am afraid I will also disappear. I know that I should live as the kids mom, but I also want to live myself. Am I too selfish?

She starts to cry. He says she is not selfish, don’t cry. He holds her and tells her it is okay as she cries and cries.

In the office, he thinks about giving the gift to his wife and smiles happily.

COUPLES MEETING

The presenter tells everyone that the most important thing is that you don’t have to say everything to your partner, but you can say everything. The presenter asks the VP, are you honest to your wife?

He says that he tries to be. The wife says, well, I know everything without him having to say anything. It is difficult to hide anything to a couple that lives together for a long time. She smiles.

The announcer says that is true. This time, I will ask the youngest couple here. Over there, Park Sung-joon. Can you say everything to your wife?

He does not answer, everyone looks at him. The CEO smiles. Jung-sun starts to chuckle. The announcer says…um…okay well for your family happiness we will stop here.

the meeting ends. The CEO looks really intersted.

Later on at the event, the VP stands with Sung-joon and two other men. Jung-sun stands by herself. The CEO goes over to her and says that she has heard a lot of good things about her. She needs help from people with good ability. Jung-sun nods and says thank you.

HOME

Meanwhile, Mina makes so many adorable things for her kids to eat. The kids say it is really good, way better than appas. Mina asks if they are happy that she is making their meal? Do you want me to make your snack everyday?

The kis instantly ask if they are going bankrupt? Mina is all like, what are you talking about? Then we flashback to Byung-hoon giving his oldest ddukbogi to eat. A far cry from Mina’s meal. He also asks if he would like him to stop work and stay at home? The oldest asks if they are going bankrupt? If appas stay home then it is weird for kids. He also says his food isn’t as good.

Byung-hoon says that his mother is having a hard time working and taking care of all of them. The oldest asks, is mom dying? The father is all like, why are you so extremem? Mom is just making money and raising you so we need to be good to her. It is an important thing. Man-to-man, appas job is difficult. But the kid looks bored and leaves.

In the present, Mina tells the oldest that they are not going bankrupt. So he smiles and starts to happily eat.

OFFICES

Hyunah sees a message on the company computer about Yuri. She has become a manager of the Presitige team. Hyun-ah sits back and sighs.

Ji-young comes running in and asks what the Prestige team is? I heard they take care of the top 1% VIP’s. So what about you guys? Do they only take care of Black Diamonds?

Hyun-ah holds back her rage and takes a break.
