This last week of The Third Charm is a bit womp womp womp for me. It is so surprising how this fun flirty drama was racing away to be my favorite romance of the year, but tripped and fell into misery mud. Then waded in it for awhile. In fact, they are still rolling in it. I am devoted to these characters though, so I want to see how everything ends up. But I should preface that by saying I want to see a happy ending, not just an ending. If they all come together for Joo-ran’s funeral then I’m done.

THE THIRD CHARM KOREAN DRAMA LIVE RECAP EPISODE 15
We open at an outdoor bar (pojangmatcha). Young-jae is there drinking soju alone. She looks like she has been at it for awhile. She checks her phone and then calls Joon-young.
he is also drinking somewhere and answers.
YJ – Joon-young, it is Young-jae. I wanted to call someone, but I didn’t have anyone to call….
She starts crying softly at her seat.
YJ – Everyone I love ….. is all sick….are all leaving me.
JY – Young-jae, we shouldn’t call~
YJ – I KNOW….I am leaving also….I am leaving…..
She gets up to leave and falls on the ground in a heap as her table also falls. All the people around are alarmed and want to help her right away. Someone must have picked up the phone becuase Joon finds out the location and runs to it.
He gets to the outdoor bar and sees that she is passed out at her table. The owner says that she was super duper drunk and fell. We wanted to take her to the hospital but she did not want us to touch her and would not answer us.
Joon goes to the pharmacy and gets bandages and ointment for Young-jae. He walks back with it and puts it on her table. She looks up at him.
J – Go home and clean yourself off and apply the medicne. Stand up.
She stands and starts to drunkenly leave.
J – Can you walk?
Y – I can walk by myself…thank you.
She takes the bag and walks off drunkenly up the street. But she collapses, because she is a mess, and can’t get back up. Joon looks at her pitifully and holds back his own tears as he looks at her try to straighten up. Then he sighs and walks over to her and helps her up and walks with her all the way home. He steadies her all the way to her front door and waits until she lets herself in.
Y- Thank you.
J – Bye.
He gives her the bag but it reveals her cut on her wrist. he is alarmed and tries to pull it to him to see it again. But she pulls it away and goes inside.
Joon slowly walks out, trying not to let his feelings show. he sits on a bench outside the complex and thinks. he pulls out his phone (it was ringing) and takes a few deep breaths then answers, it’s Se-eun. She asks if he went home okay…he says yes.
SE – I want to tell you I am sorry.
J – What?
SE – I just wanted to say sorry, goodnight Oppa
He almost lets the phone drop from his hands and continues sitting on the bench deep in his feels.
Inside, Young-jae sits in the dark and turns on her TV to watch the same thing she always watches. Footage of her and her child happily playing. She starts crying again as she watches it. Ho-Chul is there too, they are both amazingly happy in the video.
She keeps crying.
Joo-ran gets wheeled into her hospital room. Possibly after a round of chemo. The nurse helps her into her bed and then tucks her in. JR looks pretty weak as she lays there.
Cut to Joo-ran looking like she might be trying not to throw up.
Nurse – The first time you have chemo, everyone is dying with their mouth smells….ah, so sorry to say dying. I know that it tastes bad, but you have to eat it. Your strength is important.
Joo-ran is trying to eat a bowl of something, gomtang possibly? Bhut she canot stomach it and runs to the bathroom to throw up. Later on she lays in bed and looks at her cellphone. She has a lot of missed calls and messages. She turns on her phone.
W – Are you happy going to New York by yourself? The first few days I was happy, but now it is so hard, I am even losing my face fat. Come back quickly, please!
She turns off her cell phone and tries to rest.
Meanwhile, Joon is at work washing his vegetables. But his mind is on Young-jae and seeing her cut wrist first hand. This causes him to cut his finger accidentally so he stops to bandage it. Se-eun comes in right at that moment and sees his cut finger, she is concerned but he says it is okay.
They both sit to eat sandwhiches in the restaurant. But the atmosphere is a bit constrained. She tells him that he left his appointment book int he car. He smiles but doesn’t saw anything. So she continues and says that their parent meeting in tomorrow, it doesn’t feel real. He smiles again. Se-eun then brings up Lisbon and asks if he would like to live there? We were good back then…I just thought…~. He looks at her expectantly.
At home, Young-jae sits lays miserably in her room when the bell rings. It’s her brother, Soo-jae. She helps him in and rolls him inside. He looks disappointed in what he sees. Her place is empty and there is nothing in her fridge. He asks her why she just doesn’t come back home if she is going to live like this? Do you even eat?
He goes into the living area and tries not to cry. Then we cut to them eating together in the living room. Young-jae asks how his work is. He plays with is food and tells her that it is bad, don’t order it anymore. Then he asks Young-jae why Joo-ran is hiding from him. He does not see her anymore, she doesn’t call him, and she does not accept his phone calls. Maybe she was dumped very badly this time?
He tells his sister to eat, she doesn’t look good. His mother told him that he should be a mountain as the big brother. But he had this accident.
SJ – In my brain, I kill myself many hundreds of times.
Young-jae tears up a bit and nods. But SJ kind of tries to makde the air light and clears his throat and tells her, it’s whatever. I read the bible or a book or something.
SJ – Hey, if you ahve a little belief in a tiny grain then you can move this mountain from one side to another. It reminds me of our mother. I can do it, I can move a mountain. I can move with this belief. Young-jae, it is not easy, it took me ten years. Well, I said what I wanted to say so I will start eating again.
Later on, Young-jae walks Soo-jae out. He tells her to go to Halla mountain with the wind and he will take his scooter to Baekdu mountain.
Young-jae looks at him and tells him, Joo-ran is sick.
Cut to Joo-ran sitting outside at her place. She calls Young-jae who is walking outside. Young-jae asks how she is doing. JR tells her that there are a lot of sick people there, it makes her really think that she is a sick person. Before, I talked about love all the time, but I did not know what love was. Missing someone and wanting to touch someone. I thought that was love. But being comfortable with someone and relying on someons is also love.
Joo-ran continues and says that the sick people there do not look sad, they are all smiling. That is funny right? I think that is the thing. They accept that they are sick and release everything. So they can be calm. I should have done it. My pride, I am sick, hug me, I should have said that. Young-jae…we have a very sentimental fall. DOn’t walk around with a sad face, just go home.
Young-jae agrees and starts walking back home.
Joo-ran hangs up and looks at nothing in particular as she starts tearing up. Then she sighs and starts to leave. But she stops when she sees something. Soo-jae is right in front of her. He is upset but holds it in and is carrying a little plant.
Joo-ran inspects her appearance as Soo-jae gets closer to her.
SJ – The flower name meaning is to contain the depth of hardship.
He runs his hands over her hair and tells her that she looks like a pretty boy. She starts crying so he tells her that her tears are this sexy, how can she be cute and sexy? But he tells her that it is cold, so wear your hat. he puts her stocking cap back on her head.
Se-eun’s police officer friend gives her a bit of comfort and says that family meetings are always uncomfortable. A lot more awkward than you can imagine. If I could go back to that day then I would screw up the family meeting and not get married. (this feels like the shows motto, perhaps jtbc’s motto as well?). Her friend tells her good luck and then heads out.
Se-eun walks up the street solemnly and sees a pair of shoes that she really likes. She goes inside and asks to try on the shoes, but she thinks she needs to try them on a size bigger. But the employee tells her that the size she has is the last shoe they have right now.
Se-eun leaves, and walks up the street. She gets a call from Joon and tells him that she will be there. But she does not look happy to talk to him. She doesn’t look upset either, she is just overall sad.
Elsewhere, Joon’s family is shopping. Umma is happy to buy new clothing for this meeting and is also happy that her daughter can buy it for her. Sang-hyun frowns in the background with the baby. She picks something but her Husband says it is too flashy. But Umma says that she is picking it.
They go get the husbands clothing next. While looking for clothing, Appa tells SH that he needs to wear new clothing as well. He is always in sweats. He smiles and says that he is a stay at home appa, he has no reason to by new clothing. But Ri-won shows him a suit on a manequin and wants him to try it on. However SH thinks it is too expensive, it is their months expenses. They can pay for a lot with that money. She tells him that she makes a lot of money. But he still is not into it.
RW sighs and tells him that he does not have that much charm, but one of the charming things he had was how his clothing fit. She has not seen it in a long time so I miss it. That makes him so happy so he tells her that he should try it on and starts undressing the mannequin. The parents smile in the background.
Meanwhile, Joon looks sad as he sits outside his place thinking. Se-eun sees him and looks equally sad as well. She sits next to him without saying anything so they both sit quietly. Joon speaks first.
J – The heart is…I can’t control it like I want….I lied to you about one thing. Yesterday, I was with young-jae.
Se-eun’s head drops a bit. She takes a breath.
SE – If you were not an honest person, then I would feel better. So now, I hate you so much.
They keep sitting quietly.
Cut to Joon’s family eating at his place. He prepared a pretty big French meal for them, but his mind is elsewhere as he touches his bandaged finger. His parents talk about getting use to French food. Umma is not use to it but Appa thinks it is just his style. But they need different alcohol.
Joon perks up and says that he will get it and leaves.
Appa tells the family that Ri-won made fun of Joon-young since he was little, but Joon always took care of Ri-won and always took him around. My son, he is always good. He does not change. Umma says that he did not want to eat when he was little so I had to follow him around. But now I never expected him to be a chef. Appa jokes that it wasn’t Joon, it was that her food was bad. Umma is all like, yeah, that was it. They all laugh.
Joon gets the drinks, but waits outside at a bench before heading back. When he walks back, he sees his sister standing outside and looking at their family through the glass.
J – What are you doing?
RW – I thought living together was good enough. Getting married does not mean anything. But seeing mom and dad so happy like that…maybe it has some meaning. Sang-hyun wants it but I am not sure yet. I cannot answer something that I am not sure of. Is it not good for me is it not good for the other person? Perhaps time will change it. But you are getting married before me. Now you are the head of the family so I shuold at least call you oppa.
Joon looks like this is the closet thing his sister has ever told him. She tells him that it’s cold, lets go inside and heads in first. Joon stays outside a bit, his eyes are red and teary so he has to take a few breaths befroe going in.
Cut to the family leaving. Appa is drunk and tells Joon that he should take care of his wife….you grew up like this without any trouble….*hugs*…Umma tells him to get in the car already. But appa keesp with his drunken druvel and tells Joon that he is happy he is moving forward step by step, that makes him so happy.
Umma is finally able to wrangle appa inside the car and tells Joon that they enjoyed the last meal with teh original team but they left a big mess for him. Joon tells her not to worry at all. He watches them drive off and then garuffs as he puts his hands on his face.
Meanwhile, Se-eun talks to her mother about them coming in the morning on the first bus. She tells them to have a safe trip. But she looks contemplative as she hangs up and stares at nothingness. Flashback to when she read Joon’s organizer. It made her happy tosee that he marked their 1500 days together. But, she saw him leaving frantically to go get Young-jae. She didn’t know it was to Young-jae though. She was in her car and called him after awhile.
SE – Did you go home okay
J – …yes.
VO – My suspicion finally made a lie.
J – I called you because I wanted to say sorry. Good night Oppa.
She hangs up and starts crying in her car.
In the present, she think about that in her room and also thinks about Joon telling her that he lied to her.
Se-eun lays in bed looking at photos of her and Joon on her phone. The new shoes she bought are on the floor ready to be worn the next day.
Elsewhere, Joon is at his restaurant cleaning up. But he stops mid cleanup to also stare at nothing.
Outside, Young-jae walks around. But she stops and looks ahead.
Cut to Yong-jae and Joon sitting on a bench.
YJ – I couldnt’ continue living, that is why I ran away. Sometimes it is clear like yesterday. But sometimes it is like it was a long long long time ago.
Flashback to the accident, the funeral, and the misery.
In the flashback, we are privy to Ho-chul and Young-jae’s relationship deteriorating. Ho-chul tries to give her space and comfort, but Young-jae cannot be comforted and turns to alcohol.
One day Ho-chul gets home and sees an emoty bottle on the counter. He has a feeling so he takes off running through the neighborhood looking for her and calling her. He runs all over, this is a long scene of him running.
He finally finds her at their kids gravesite. She is fine and is just sitting at the site. He sits with her.
Y – It is because of me, right? It is all because of me.
HC – Don’t think about that.
He holds her close to him.
Cut to YJ with a fever. Ho-chul takes care of her at her bedside. He tries to softly feed her juk so she can take her medicine but she coughs and does not want to because it is terrible to eat and try to survive. It makes her feel so terrible. Hochul tells her that it is not her fault, it will be better, it all will be better.
VO – As time passed, it became worse.
Young-jae drinks herself into a stupor all day long. Ho-chul tries to keep her from doing it but that makes them get into a huge fight (one sided on Young-joo’s part). Their frame breaks on the ground as Young-joo yells and breaks away from him as he tries to hold her.
HC – Why didn’t you just buy her that cat!
But he knows that he should not have said that and takes it back right away. She looks at him like he is a literal devil.
Later, HC and YJ sit on the floor in their living room. They sit apart from each other across the room. Ho-chul falls asleep briefly. When he wakes up he goes to check on YJ who is not on the floor anymore. He knocks on the door to their bathroom but it is locked. he bursts in, thinking the worse, and is greated by what he probably was imagining.
Cut to Yong-jae in the hospital with her wrist bandaged. Ho-chul holds her hand. She apologizes to Ho-chul.
YJ – I am sorry, to see you outside of the house like this, I am really sorry.
HC – It is okay.
YJ – But in that house, in our house. I can’t think of anything else. In that house I don’t have anywhere to hide. The couch, the dinner table, the restroom, your face, your eyes …. Sulhee is there.
She starts softly crying.
YJ – Ho-chul…let’s get a divorce.
Ho-chul looks crushed.
In the present.
YJ- I know it does not work, but many many times in the day I want to turn the clock back to when it will end. It should not end. But I am okay now. Well actually not 100 percent, but…. sometimes it comes to my mind and drives me crazy but at least I wont run away from it.
A single tear escapes from Joon’s eye.
YJ – Joon, you don’t have to worry about me. I have Soo-jae oppa, Joo-ran eunnie…I have people that worry about me. I will live thinking of those people.
They are silent for a moment.
YJ – I hope you do well and live happily and truthfully.
Joon nods, though he does not look at her. She gets up to leave. Joon remembers all the times Yong-jae looked miserable. It looks like he regrets how he acted.
Joon gets up and walks off while thinking of YJ telling him that she wanted to call someone but did not have anyone to call….all the people she loves all leave her.
Joon takes off running until he gets to Yong-jae and holds her arm lightly, she turns around. Tears all around.
YJ – I had too much comfort? I don’t deserve it.
She starts crying a bit more as Joon looks at her and wonders what he should do. They don’t hug , they just stand there with him holding her wrist.
Yj – You should leave now.
He lets go of her arm.
Good Lord, just depressing.
YJ – It has been 12 years since I have known you. I didn’t know you got cold easily.
JY – Because we never spent winter together.
YJ – I didn’t even know everything about you, but I thought we weren’t a good match. We were too different.
SJ – You dont’ have to move your finger tips at all, just sit like a painting.
SJ – I will wait for you here without moving at all. Be brave and do well.
SE – I like you oppa and I trust you oppa.
JY – Se-eun…
Here we go! Lets see what the last 2 episodes will bring us….a brighter future…or takes us to the depths of despair…..Bring it on!! 😅
Waiting for the review
Computer issues (updating) so we will start in around 30 minutes. Probably around 9:45! Or sooner if it finishes early.
Its ok. Take your time. Im still meditating, composing my self to be more calm with this episode 😅. Hoping for the best and and expecting the worst.
“but tripped and fell into misery mud”
This is the most apt description of this show ever.
patiently waiting… 😀
and thank you!
i can’t wait to read the recap. ñ.ñ fighting
Waiting waiting waiting…. 💙💙💙
I watched the clips………
I need some happy thoughts again……like A LOT!!!!
“the heart, i cannot control it like i want…” truer words have not been spoken. thank you. i am excited for the ending.
Not sure I’m ‘excited’ for the ending but I’m definitely ready for it…oh show. I was rooting for you!
Basically my feelings. It makes me happy when someone is excited for an ending, though. I want to suck up your excitement energy, Ida!
Thank you so much for the live recap. Hoping JY and YJ will get back together, that will be the perfect ending.
V…..i must say…..i congratulate you for surviving this episode. Watching it while understanding what they are saying then recaping it?…my hat’s off to you….it already felt so heavy while im watching the clips without understanding what they are saying…..man oh man….
That scene where YJ watching the video……gad!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
At least they didn’t talk that much. Lost of introspection. Young-jae did most of the talking at the end.
In other dramas, you often find the female second lead become pathetic for the male lead..here, JY is just so frustrating/pathetic (or the Mary Sue/Candy)..kudos to you recapping this show- it is so off-putting as a story, makjang almost all the way, I get it: YJ has been through a lot but I hope she heals without JY..at this stage, isn’t JY just gonna ‘heal’ her? is that why the writer wrote such a pathetic tragic story for her- because otherwise she would have appeared as a complete bitch character during the ‘3rd’ encounter? This is just a frustrating story..
I don’t find YJ pathetic. She never runs to JY for help or tries to manipulate him. They meet by accident/fate/destiny and he’s always the one who makes the move…for eg cooking her meals etc. She’s in so much pain…walking around like a dead person. She has one moment of weakness when she called him dead drunk after finding out about her friend’s cancer . I feel she couldn’t call her brother because like her friend said…he wouldn’t be able to handle it. Even then, she’s aware that she shouldn’t be calling him.
YJ has had a very hard life. Imagine losing parents at a young age, after that her beloved grandma and then her only solace, her brother paralyzed. Her already hard life got worse at 20 because she had a brother to support. Seeing her once strong loving brother going thru the hopelessness and indignities of being paralyzed must have taken a toll on her mind . At 27 , she had already gone thru so much . Everyone feels sorry for JY but he’s had an easy normal life….his heart being broken is nothing compared to what she went thru. Their 7 years very different and even JY seems to realize how immature he is compared to her when he berates himself for acting like a child. His last goodbye to YJ when he drives up to her work place and drives off seems to acknowledge that he needs to go and find himself . I didn’t get the sense that he blamed her . It was more like he needed to work on himself When you suffer like YJ …it makes you grow up faster.
I agree with you that YJ isnt pathetic. Compared to her, JYs life is normal. Every possible heart ache you can think of, i think YJ experienced it. Im surprised shes not dead yet by suicide. I just hope thay the writer and director find a way for these two lead to find themselves first without eachother, let the healing process be done without each other, coz their main weakness are eachother. When JY went soul searching, the rebound girl showed up. For me his soul searching isnt really complete. On YJs part, she doesnt really know what truly makes her happy. When she realized what makes her happy, JY is gone backpacking. And since JY is gone, HC still hounding YJ, she chose the next best thing. Which i think made her happy for a bit, because of the idea of having a complete family. So when her child dies, everything fell apart. The foundation isnt that strong.
I just hope that YJ finds a way to heal and go soul searching like JY did. I hope that JY let so fo the lady cop coz thats the fair thing to do for her. He cant hold on to someone while his heart is somewhere else. Letting her go is the most humane thing he can do.
I don’t know y’all, I kind of agree with Anonymous. YJ wasn’t a pathetic character in the beginning, but she is kind of being written as that way now (at least to me). Only for the last 2 episodes (maybe 3). She needs Joon to make her meals for her and tells her to put on clothes and get out of the house. And he is the one she called when she felt she didn’t have anyone to call (even though she had her brother).
So it kind of makes her look a bit like she would not be able to function without Joon. Her husband could not get her to continue living and her friends and family could not get her to continue living but Joon was able to do it in only 3 or 4 interactions with her.
She definitely wasn’t needy early on, though. Hopefully she is able to straighten herself out, herself, and will not rely on Joon to do that for her. if that happens then it does kind of seem like she needs him.
I think (this is just my opinion) JY is YJs weakness and strength and vice versa. JY could have just talked to someone to help YJs situation but he rather do it himself. YJ could have called someone else but she called JY instead. YJ can somehow function because of what JY told him because wether she like it or not JY is still her strength after all these years. JY cant bear seeing YJ in a mess and would rather take care of her than be married to the lady cop because after all these years he still loves her. But the thing is there is also downside with having those feelings:
1. JY might end up thinking if the feelings he have for YJ is still love or he just feels sorry for her and thats why he feels like he’s obligated to take care of her.
2. YJ might question her true feeling for JY too. Was she just sad and in a mess thats why she needed JY?
Thats why im hoping they will do their healing process without eachother.
the constant of k-dramas is no one has any friends. LOL. Seoul is such a heavily populated city and none of the leads has any close friends. Unbelievable! It is easy for the writer to manipulate one’s character because there were only 2 main couples (not counting the side characters)…. when HC and SE are eliminated, there are only Adam and Eve left… their world is just sooo small? And why did JY and YJ/HC all ended up in Lisbon – was it cheap flights, free Portugese lessons? The writer really sucks in explaining. Disappointed!!
I don’t think she is pathetic. I know some people like her and life is not easy for them for some reason – whenever the happiness embraces them, when they can breath freely, it happens again and in a very similar form but as just different in some ways that it looks like somebody was throwing stones on you and you would love to finish the suffering, but the last stone doesn’t come as fast as desired. Life isn’t easy for everybody and not everybody is responsible for his/her misfortune. As for loosing a beloved child after loosing beloved parents and grandparents she is doing quite well, trying to be a phoenix, but it is really hard. It’s like in Harry Potter (I’m rereading and rewatching it for academical purposes again with a sparkling pleasure) when nobody can’t see those strange creatures pulling carriages except Luna and Harry and their friends think he is crazy and imagining things again until he is reassured that only people who have experienced death in some sort are able to see it. So our empathy has it’s own limits as well and it’s hard to accept a tragic figure like YJ. But people like her do exist and I’m thankful to the writer to bring them on this little screen to make a hommage to them.
YJ needs a good friend and she has 3 very good ones. The quantity is not important and there’s only one who she can talk to in that moment. He is not active in her personal space as before, so it’s much more easier to talk to him. He’s a grown up, he can put emotional boundaries and still help her to stand up. He doesn’t need to mess up his love life, it’s all up to him. SE is growing as well and sometimes you need to leave a space for your lover and trust him. Unfinished business can do more harm than good…
SO SO FRUSTRATING! I ranted about this on our show last week – why does the writer make YJ choices always end with the WORST possible outcome?
sigh…I was so looking forward to their 2018 ‘meet-cute’ too – damnit.
Hahahaha! I hope you already vented all your rage last week. 😂
Basing on the preview, i think JY will break-up with lady cop and continue his soul searching while YJ will do the same, find a way to heal without JY. Then (maybe, most probably coz its goin to be the last episode…duh 😅) The Third Charm will FINALLY happen 😅
RIGHT! I was looking forward to their ‘meet-cute’ in 2018! But it is more like a ‘meet-grimm’ situation.
@Rose – I hope so too!! This show made me SO ANGRY.
I wanted to enjoy the last few episode with these 2 & finding each other again…not this tragedy-poloza.
Oh well…though for me this is one of the best part about KDrama – you hit that final ep and you can put it away and find a new bright shiny show to love – FIN!
(I will admit that this one hurt A LOT more than usual though…show 😡)
I’ll be watching you guys reaction about these last 2 episodes. I have a feeling you’re goin to be a little calmer this time 😅
Disappointed!! I was hoping an explanation why YJ married HC… this piece of puzzle is still missing… Why?
I think same as JY….rebound.
They gave a tiny tiny explanation in HC and YJ’s last dinner together. He said that he had to basically bother her non stop in order for her to agree to go out on a date with him. It seemed like they both remembered that fondly.
I just could not understand how she end up with HoChul and had a child with him in a very short time. JY date SE after being alone in awhile. But she got married while JY was having a hard time moving on and finding himself. I hated her for that. How I wish that the writer would tell her story, in between. What happened and how it happened. I still wanted them to get back together in the end but it feels like so unfair for JY’s part. But I am fine whoever he ends up with. He deserve to be happy after all.. Young Jae, sorry, buy she deserve to be how she is like now. She broke up with him and ended up with HC. But still, I want to see her happy, too. But, I think, the ending tonight will be a hanging one. Just please, tell her story while JY was having a hard time in Lisbon.
Im sorry….but i dont get why YJ deserves to be in where she is right now. Its not like she wants her kid dead. Thats the reason shes depress is because of her kid dying, not because she and JY broke-up. Basing on the clip i’ve seen, i think YJ was happy and content when her kid was still alive….im sorry, i really dont get why YJs life has to he miserable 😯
I don’t think Aisha is saying that she deserves her misery, but more like marrying HC was the path she took in life even though this path led to a misery.
It would be nice to see her happy moments with Ho-chul and how they ended up being a very happy looking couple. It would explain a lot if their relationship wasn’t actually all that rosey until their daughter showed up. They took an entire episode to show Joon’s happy moments with Se-eun, but never reciprocated that with Yong-jae, so I can see why Aisha would like to see more of that instead of only the sad moments of Young-jae’s life. The way it is now, it does kind of feel like Joon is sacrificing his current happy life for Young-jae’s future happiness.
I also don’t really understand why Young-jae’s life has to be so horrible. I really think it’s the writers fault.
The more i think about it, the more i think that the flaw of this drama is not about being depressing, it more on balancing the story of both JY and YJ. There are other depressing dramas there that you can understand why, but on this one, i think the writer forgot that they have two leads here that they need to focus on.
both times the girl approached JY first – YJ kissed him while doing his hair, SE confessed to him at the airport. If the girl did not initiate, JY might stay as a bachelor forever… It may be better for JY to stay single forever because he does not know what he is doing besides cooking! He does not know how to deal with YJ emotions nor his own insecurities. He led SE on even though he is thinking about YJ. I am kinda mad at JY now. I think all girls should stay away from him even though he is so handsome…. hahaha… For YJ, the writer is now making her appearing so pitiful, very poor script writing. Disappointed!!
Meant to reply to you, my reply is below 😊
It looks like both of started dating around the same time after about a year of their break up. JY dated E for 4 years and YJ’s daughter was born in 2015. Both were chased relentlessly by HC and SE. It would be nice to see what happened immediately after the break up. I always wonder whether JY saw YJ chasing after his car when he drove off. My fantasy is he saw her but he had to drive off because he knew his problem was his lack of confidence and always not feeling good enough for her. He needed to become a strong tree that could withstand all seasons.
I love how he doesn’t seem angry with her and blaming her. That last interaction was wonderful. It wasn’t romance . It was about compassion. He cried because she had suffered so much. This two have come a long way. I feel they really connected this time more than first two times. Hope it’s happy ending with her giving birth to a son just like kind and sensitive JY.
Oh, this is a good point, he has never approached a woman before. It is almost like he likes any woman that likes him first (and when he is singke/available)? But of course the first love will always have that pedestal spot in his heart.
I think its because he an akward kind of guy when he was young. He’s not use to women flirting with him. So as soon as a girl show interest in him, he gets easily flattered.
I almost feel like Joon is the kind of easy going person that can be happy with just about anyone.
