I love how passionate everyone got about this poll! It just shows what a great job Start-Up is doing creating three-dimensional characters we care about and feel invested in.
At the time I’m writing this, 176 people have voted, which is insane! Thank you all for participating. It’s always fun to see our little community come together like this.
Now, without further ado, I present the results:

The fandom has spoken, and Ji-pyeong (our wonderful Good Boy) won by a landslide!!! He got 128 votes while Do-san only got 48. Poor Do-san!
Those of you who are following the Highlights & Heartbreaks for Start-Up know I’ve been going back and forth about shipping Dal-mi with Do-san and Ji-pyeong. I’d finally settled on Do-san and told myself I’d be loyal, but as I was working on this I realized I just couldn’t force myself. I have to go with what feels right, and that’s Ji-pyeong. So that’s who I voted for too.
Dal-mi and Do-san are a cute couple, but Dal-mi and Ji-pyeong just feel…better. Because of the letters, they already know about each other’s deepest insecurities and desires. It’d be so cool for them to expand on that and challenge each other to keep growing. Plus every time I picture Dal-mi, Ji-pyeong, and Won-deok as a little family unit, my heart just melts!
As we know, Ji-pyeong is the second lead so he probably won’t get the girl, but…we can dream, can’t we?
very nice i really like it
amazing article thanks for the info
I’m not a fan of either actor, so my observation isn’t biased. The character JP (NOT THE ACTOR) is manipulative and toxic. He dropped the letter writing as soon as he was able to and took off to pursue success. He only became interested in Dal-mi after Do-San did. He failed to pursue her for three years, and only started again when Do-San returned. And he played dirty tricks. Again. The character confessed, but his manipulation almost cost DM her job, and he didn’t seem to care about that at all. He just smiled. I honestly do not understand why any woman would cheer for someone like that. It just boggles my mind.
I am watching 2 Days 1 Night, and the actor who plays JP is absolutely delightful. Is it possible that people are confusing him with the fictional character he’s playing? That’s the only thing that explains it to me.
OMG I love this take! It really wraps up into a nice bow how JP had his shot and wasted it. I do love the actor who plays him. He is super delightful and wholesome. But the character he plays in this show is kind of a jerk sometimes.
