송하윤은 7일 서울 종로의 한 카페에서 MBC 주말극 ‘내 딸, 금사월’ 종영 인터뷰를 진행, 드라마 촬영 뒷이야기를 전했다.
Song Ha-yoon talked about behind the scenes stories of the drama at a café in Jong-ro in Seoul during the final interview of the MBC weekend TV show “My daughter, Gum Sa-wol.”
이번 작품에서 송하윤은 출생의 비밀을 간직한 채 보육원에서 자라 갖은 고생을 하는 주오월 역으로 열연했다. 오월은 남편에게 버림 받고 홀로 두 아이를 키우는가하면, 사고로 기억장애를 얻어 어린 아이의 지능으로 살게 되는 등 파란만장한 인생을 사는 캐릭터였다.
In this drama, Song Ha-yoon played the character Ju Oh-wol, who grew up in an orphanage with birth a secret and had a hard and difficult life. She was abandoned by her husband and raised two kids by herself, lost her memory by an accident, and afterward lived with the IQ of a child.
캐릭터의 특성상 송하윤은 외모를 과감히 포기했다. 뽀글거리는 파마머리에 화장기도 거의 없는 얼굴로 카메라 앞에 섰다.
Because of this character, Song Ha-yoon bravely gave up her looks. She stood in front of the camera with an ajumma perm and almost no makeup.
“오월이로 연기 하는 동안은 미용실을 갈 일이 없었어요. 현장에서 머리를 뽀글뽀글하게 하고 화장도 거의 안 하고 비비크림 정도만 바르는 식으로 했죠. 꾸밀 수 있는 캐릭터가 아니어서 머리가 헝클어져도 그냥 하고, 자다가 일어나서도 화장 고칠 필요없이 그냥 연기했죠.”
“While I was acting as Oh-wol, I didn’t have to go to a beauty salon. I just made my hair curly and barely put on any makeup, I just applied some BB cream before the scene. She is a character that shouldn’t put on makeup, so I just acted even if my hair was crazy; there was no need to fix my makeup after waking up.”
송하윤은 “외모에는 거의 신경을 안 썼던 것 같다”며 “오히려 스태프들이 ‘너 그냥 찍어도 되냐’고 물어봐 줬다. 나중에 화면 보면 잘 가려서 찍어 주시고, 많이 신경 써 주신 것 같다”라며 웃음 지었다.
Song Ha-joon said, “I didn’t care about how I looked at all. The staff members told me, ‘Is it fine for you without makeup?’ When I monitored the screen, they carefully took shots to cover my looks up well,” she smiled. (she meant the camera people carefully shot the drama to make her no-makeup-face less pronounced.)
송하윤이 오월이 연기를 하면서 딱 한 번 샵에 들러 화장을 하고 헤어스타일링을 했는데, 바로 친부를 찾고 원래 집으로 돌아갔을 때다. 확 바뀐 외모 덕에 오월에게 시선이 집중된 것은 물론. 그런데 갑자기 사라진 사투리가 시청자들의 고개를 갸우뚱 하게 만들기도 했다.
Song Ha-yoon went to a beauty salon only once to do her makeup and hair when her character went back home after finding her birth father. Of course, Oh-wol drew a lot of attention because of the new look. But at the same time, losing her country accent made the viewers a little confused.
“아이들과 남편, 시어머니를 만날 때는 사투리를 쓰고, 사월이나 득예 아줌마 만났을 때는 표준어를 사용했어요. 대본상에도 그렇게 나와 있었죠. 오월이가 바뀌고자 하는 모습이 잘 전달이 됐어야 하는데, 너무 많은 이야기가 담기다 보니까 다 보여주지 못한 것 같아요.”
“When I saw my kids, husband, or mother in law, I used a country accent (saturi), and used a standard accent when I met Sa-wol or Duk-ye ajumma. It was in the script as well. It should have been clearer to the audience that Oh-wol tried to change; however, since we tried to deliver so many stories, we couldn’t show everything clearly.”
“제가 시청자들이 오월이에 더 몰입해서 보실 수 있도록 잘 했어야 하는데 아쉽다”는 송하윤은 “작품이 끝나고 나서야 비로소 보이는 것들이 있다”고 고백했다.
“I have some regrets, I should have made Oh-wol a more innumerable character for the audience.” Song Ha-yoon confessed, “There are some things that can only be noticed after finishing the drama.”
“아직은 모르지만 다음 작품을 하면서 또 보이는 것들이 있는 것 같아요. 이번에 ‘금사월’ 하면서 전작에서 아쉬웠던 부분들이 생각 났듯이, 다음 작품을 하면서 분명 오월이하면서 부족했던 것들이 생각날 것 같아요. 아무리 애써도 아마 또 아쉬움이 남을 거고 실수도 할 거예요. 하지만 실수에서 무엇이든 반드시 깨달음을 얻으면서 가려고 해요.”
“I don’t know it now, but when I do my next project, there will be something that I will notice. I had noticed something I should have done in my previous drama while shooting Gum Sa-wol. I think I will also notice shortcomings from my acting as Oh-wol, while shooting the next project. Regardless of how hard I work, I will have regrets and make mistakes. But I want to learn from my mistakes.”
송하윤이 매회 더 발전하는 모습을 보여주고 있는 것은 바로 이런 이유 때문이 아닐까. 지금의 화제에 들뜨지 않고, 조용히 자신의 연기를 되돌아보는 송하윤이기에 다음에는 어떤 모습을 보여줄지 기대된다.
Maybe this is why Song Ha-yoon is improving in each episode. Because she is not consumed with current attention, rather, while quietly reviewing her acting, I am looking forward to seeing how she will be in her next film.
