REVIEW: VIP episode 15 (29-30) – and episode 16 Preview

In episode 15 of VIP, Jung-sung might just have given up the rage ghost on this marriage, though it did take a lot for her to get there.

The entire episode is focused on the matchmaking VIP event for all the well to do kids of their VIP clients. It is the premiere event for the Black Society so it needs to go well.

Mina suggests that they have a popular boutique jewelry company at the event. The VIP children should love it and the jewelry company should love it as well because they are always trying to find their level of clientele.

Jung-sun pushes for Mina to run this part of the event, instead of Prestige, because it was her idea and she already has the contacts. So Min gets it. Her husband is so happy that his wife got a win.

In this entire episode, Yuri tries to spend some quality time with Sung-joon. But she never gets a chance to. She cooks him dinner, but he can’t make it due to being too drunk with the VP. She asks him out to dinner but he already has plans. She tries to talk to him in the elevator, but other people come in so she can’t.

To make matters even worse, her father meets with her and tells her not to see Sung-joon anymore until he gets his divorce. It would be too much bad press for them while he is trying to take over the company from his sister.

But he is not 100% against them. He just tells Yuri to wait until he can send her to live in America to study. He will send Sung-joon there to work in their branch office. But the caveat is that it will not happen until he gets his divorce finalized.

But she has doubts, because when she calls Sung-joon one night, she realizes that he went to his old neighborhood due to the taxi driver who found Sung-joon’s phone. Sung-joon was so drunk that night he went out with the VP, that he told the taxi driver to go to his old home. Jung-sun basically told him to take his butt out of there. So he walked away. But Yuri does not know that.

On that drunken night, Sung-joon’s mom paid Jung-sun a visit and unloads all her dirty family business on her. She tells her that Jung-sun is the product of an affair and that he is not to blame, the mother blames herself and her fate and says that Sung-joon always said he would never be like his father. Jung-sun is shocked.

During the VIP event, the CEO talks to Jung-sun and tells her that she hopes she takes her revenge all the way. Jung-sun asks her how far that is. The CEO just smiled and told her that an interesting thing would happen at the event tonight, then she left.

The interesting thing that happened was that the CEO called the VPs mistress to the event as the charity benefactor. Then she gave the woman all the money and told her to go live in America for now and not come back if her husband calls her.

She worked this out with the VPs wife so that the wife can keep better tabs on the VP for her. So the VP’s wife is her ally now.

But that happened at the end of the event. Several things happened during the event. First, a very influential chaebol is interested in Yuri and wants to bring her into the fold. The matchmaker tells her that it is a very good proposition to have from him in order to move to the other side of the curtain. Everyone does not have that opportunity no matter how hard they work.

The second big thing that happened is that Yuri confronted Jung-sun about getting a divorce. She basically went momentarily crazy and asked Jung-sun to hurry up and divorce her husband so that she could live with him in America. Yes, she actually asked her to do that in that way. Jung-sun tells her it is none of her business.

The third big thing that happened is that the VP told the bad prestige employee to cause a disturbance at the event. So when the matchmaker tells him not to let a certain chaebol drink too much alcohol, he rather fills his cup to the top over and over again.

This causes a huge issue later on which brings us to the fourth big thing that happens which is that Sang-woo tried to get the chaebol to stop drinking. The chaebol was stupid drunk and Sang-woo knows him so he knew that he should not drink anymore.

But the drunk guy just started to act berate and criticizes Sang-woo about the bad service here. Jung-sun hears this and comes out to help. But there is an altercation where the drunk guy tries to touch Jung-sun so Sang-woo grabs his arm which causes the drunk guy to push Sang-woo and also try to hit him with something dangerous.

Jung-sun stops him from doing that, but that sends her tumbling down the staircase. All the way down, she rolled and rolled and rolled until she stopped unconscious at the bottom.

Sang-woo quickly runs to her and everyone in the area does as well. Sung-joon also runs to Jung-sun with true concern in his eyes. When the ambulance comes her tells them he is her husband and hops in. Yuri is completely forgotten.

Yuri goes back inside the event looking lost and humiliated. To add insult to injury, the wife comes up to her and tells her she looks super stupid right now.

In the hospital, Sung-joon stays by his Jung-sun’s side all night and into the morning. In the morning, Jung-sun no longer looks upset at Sung-joon, but she does tell him that they should end this right now. Let’s divorce.

In two side stories, we see that Hyun-ah and Jin-ho continue to bond when she invited him over to dinner at her place. We also see a meeting where Bae Do-il meets with the CEO, which cannot be good. Though it might be great!
