On the last episode, Vincenzo showed up at the courthouse as a key witness. No one knows how he got into that position. Today we find out!
VINCENZO RECAP EPISODE 7
In the beginning, Vincenzo comes in as a witness. He became a witness because he is an accuser witness. While at a Chinese restaurant, he overheard the Babel chemical executives talking badly about the families of the victims wanting more money so he hit them.
he also stole one of their phones when he was doing it and presented their text messages as evidence that what they say is a lie about the chemical filtration system.
The judge does not want to allow this evidence but has to allow it. In addition, Vincenzo calls another witness to debunk the corrupt doctor’s argument. That doctor is the wife of the corrupt doctor.
The wife is the #1 leukemia specialist in Korea who built a pediatric cancer center. She is highly respected and the highest authority of cancer research in Korea. Her colleague asked her for a second opinion in the Babel case, so she gave it to him. But she did not tell her husband because she did not want to hurt his ego.
Vincenzo was able to ask the wife to be in the court case while they were at an art museum looking at a painting of Joan of Arc Liberty Leading the People. It looks like she was interested in Vincenzo while they were looking at the painting, but put on her doctor’s hat when he showed her all the information about her husband. For instance, he has a secret girlfriend and took out her money from their bank. He also secretly tried to divorce her. She knew that her husband tried to divorce her secretly and had a secret girlfriend, but she did not know he snuck out their money.
She agrees to help them in the case if Vincenzo goes to see an Opera with her.
At court, she brings all the evidence that shows that the husband lied about the cause of cancer. It was 100% the companies fault because they did not use the right filter. She also says her husband is a drug addict and drugged one of the witnesses.
A huge argument breaks out between husband and wife and it’s a mess. Court is adjourned.
Jang Joon-woo, the real boss of Babel, gets all upset and takes Choi Myung-hee and Han Seong-huk out on a terrifying joy ride to yell at them.
Myung-hee tells her team at the lawyer’s office to target Cha-young with everything they can. This leads to Cha-young getting thrown in jail again.
Vincenzo gets Cha-young out of jail because he knows that the head prosecutor’s son is a soccer player and there is an Italian coach coming in to recruit a Korean player. Vincenzo knows this Italian coach, so during the son’s soccer practice, Vincenzo tells the head prosecutor, if he lets Cha-young out, then he will tell the Italian coach to take the prosecutor’s son. The Italian coach shows up at the practice right then and jokes with Vincenzo, showing that Vincenzo actually knows him. So the prosecutor agrees.
At the same time, Vincenzo finds out that they cannot dig up the gold or the building will explode.
Meanwhile, on their father’s memorial day, we find out that Jang Joon-woo killed their father while their father was in the hospital and asks if he is going to kill him like that as well? We see a flashback of this happening. Joon-woo asks if he knew that this entire time and tells him that he isn’t as big a fool as he thought he was.
Back to Vincenzo, more problems are brewing for him because he finds out that the thugs are going to demolish the building in one week. Also, the tenants find out from a bum that there is gold somewhere in the building. All the people that placed the gold were killed, he only knows because he saw it happen in a restaurant and looked at one of their cell phones.
So the tenants all agree not to move out of the building. they will fight to stay until the end! The thugs will show up in one week to take the building and the tenants will protest.
Vincenzo and the landlord hire professional protesters to get hit during the protest against destroying the building. Their plan is to live broadcast it over the internet using the snack bars kid who live streams. But on the way, one of the protesters gets a phone call from the government saying one of them was in contact with a person with a highly infectious disease so they have to go to that center right away. They turn the bus around to go there.
Vincenzo does not know that this has happened and sees a huge fight going on at the building. His landlord calls him to let him know what happened and we see that the tenants are actually fighting the thugs. It looks just like the Joan of Arc painting (correction Liberty Leading the People painting!).
COMMENTS
Okay, this episode was a bit boring to me, it was mostly filler and I honestly started drifting off during a lot of it. But it did have some funny scenes. My favorite has to be the Joan of Arc (Liberty Leading the People) painting recreation, though I do not believe for one moment that the tenants could take on professional gangsters and basically rip them to pieces. Sure, they were drunk, but that should have made them easier to beat up, not harder.
I would have liked it if the tenants were accidentally high on a Babel performance-enhancing drug or something which gave them super strength. Like if Vincenzo and Cha-young got some of this drug and it looked like salt or something so the tenants sprinkled it on their food. I don’t know. I just wanted that fight scene to be a tad bit more believable. It was funny, but in my mind I kept thinking, these thugs, on top of being professional thugs, have metal bats! These tenants don’t stand a chance!
Hopefully the next episode won’t have so much filler. I am ready to get to this gold! How can Vincenzo get it? Drill an underground hole to it? Demolish the building for it? Will the gold even be there? Did the Chinese boss take all his gold out at some point? All things I want to know!

I’m disappointed in this show. Love ML. Still watching but not invested.
Have you considered recapping Beyond Evil or Mouse? Two frelling fantastic dramas. Would love your take and analysis.
Thanks
That wasn’t joan of Arc. That was a portrayal of the French Revolution. You know, Liberté, Fraternité, Egalité? Famous painting!

Thank you for the correction! I’ll add that.

Ha ha! That sounds like great shows to watch!!
I have a lot of complaints about this drama. I hope I’m wrong and it will get better from Episode 8 onwards. But at the same time, I’m also prepared that it will be a waste of 20 Episodes of my life. Ha! To me, if it wasn’t SJK, I would stop watching this half way from Episode 1….
In this drama, SJK is good looking, nice smooth face, great result of skin care, wears nice suit with his good shape and height, but that’s about it. I’ve been waiting for him to be the ‘real mafia’! In Episode 1, he was bad! Those scenes with the Italians are “too soft”- almost like mafia film for 3-year olds. No blood, no death, no violence, just talk about it lol And indeed, until the end of Episode 7, with lots of opportunities in between, he has done nothing to convince me that he’s this dangerous mafia – why bother explaining what consigliere was at the start if he’s nothing like one!?! Also funny how there has been no news from his Italian enemies, do they just “let him live” in Korea and wait for him to return to Italy and kill them? SJK’s Italian speaking is not great at all, his ‘mafia’ ruthless look, verbal and actions are not on point, the majority of the time he looks a bit girly when ‘trying’ to be cool.
JYB is too much in being a clown. Funny a few times but now it’s just lame and cringey. Have to admit, she’s also beautiful, great result of skin care, wears nice suits with great body and height though.
I also would like to see the proper build-up for the development of chemistry between the two. When did they start liking each other? I’m not sure if it’s enough to lead us to believe that they started liking each other from when he did the finger-flicking on her forehead and when she gives him the pen?
The villain is not scary! Just a boy who is (trying to look) angry all the time and likes to drop a few English words or phrases with good western accent. I need to see what he is good at? In Episode 7, he said to his half-brother that he’s got the business while he’s got the legal worlds… But he’s not even a good lawyer? He did nothing and couldn’t do anything in the court in Episode 6?! The villain’s half-brother is acting at being scared all the time, but I don’t feel scared for him or with him… so he’s very boring to watch.

Yes, everything you mention here are the problems I’m seeing as well. After episode 4 this show has gotten pretty stale. I want it to get back to what I loved in the opening episodes!
Have to say however that I can watch SJK ride that horse 24/7 and be quite happy. LOL I have never watched Descendants nor will I (for some reason, I don’t like the female and can’t watch another show I want to watch This Winter ….though I love the ML. Go figure. Just was reminded that SJK was in Sumdongy(spelling?) Scandal and he was my favorite character.
Have to agree that I felt badly for the bank president even though he was a bad guy. nurture vs nature. His parents were awful people.
OMG you must give Descendant of the Sun a go! There, SJK was real cool, playful, convincing and handsome without even trying! The way he looked at the main girl, aaahh the chemistry is exploding! Song He Kyo was SO good in there too. They were perfect in acting and looks. You must really watch it =)
You can see a stark difference with his ‘trying’ in Vincenzo, and not much chemistry – but then again, maybe also due to the story plot here too.
