OPENING
In the bar, WJ tells KS that his credit card does not work. Perhaps his father blocked everything. He can give him money but he cannot hire him, he does not have enough money.

KS wonders if he can go to the housewarming party empty handed, can you give me one of those? WJ is all like, huh? What house warming?

Cut to KS at the house warming party with the TV. WY is all like, are you lending this to me? KS tells him no, it is a present. Everyone looks at him shocked.

Cut to them all eating the meat. WY is cutting the meat for everyone but thenKS tells him that he can do it. It looks like he was jealous of WY cutting the meat. KS starts cutting it, but he cuts it way too thin.

HJ tells him that this is not japchae. WY takes over the cutting of the meat again. Everyone starts talking about being stingy and saving money. MR and WY talk back and forth about stingy things as if they are the same person. They think they can do half price for watching movies on Wednesdays. MR tells him that he is super great.

WY says he does not have money so he has to save it. KS speaks up and tells them that he went to a convenience store and bought 1 plus 1. MR is all like…..well, you are rich….

But then HJ notices a guitar and tells him to show them the guitar! WY tells them that he is not good. But they keep telling him to play it so he does. They sit around and listen to him playing it. He is really good so everyone enjoys it.

MR smiles and looks happily at WY as he plays. KS notices.

After the party, everyone starts to clean. KS starts to try and insert himself into the cleaning process in order to help MR out.

HJ and WY go to take the trash out. WY asks how KS was in middle school. HJ tells him that he was untouchable, it is surprising that a guy like that remembers Mirae.

Inside, MR thinks to herself about KS coming here but not going to see his mother. KS is looking at the dish washing liquid, he does not know how to open it so he just looks at it. MR comes up to him and opens it then starts to wash the dishes.

WY and HJ come back inside. WY mentions that they should watch movies together at the end of the month. He especially tells MR that they should watch movies as homework.

MR walks home arm in arm with HJ as KS walks behind them. She is nervous about watching a move with WY. They get to HJ and MR’s building so KS asks if he can watch a movie with them as well.

They all start to leave. KS walks away and thinks that MR and HJ live so close to WY.

Inside, HJ and MR talk about watching a movie with a guy! And the face genius!. They joke and roll around their bed giggling about that. MR gets a text just then, KS text her that 6pm would be a good time to watch a movie.

KS goes back to the bar, it is all empty so WJ thinks he is going broke. KS and WY sit and talk on the bar. WJ is nice and gives KS some money.

Meanwhile, it is morning and MR wakes up. She thinks, this is the first date in my life. She tries to find something to wear while thinking that it is a date, no it is homework, no it is a date, no no homework.

MR goes outside and sees HJ. They talk about the date with KS later on. MR is so nervous about it. HJ tells her she can come home late. MR tries to play it off.

Mirae goes to a makeup store to get the perfect lipstick. She thinks that everyone did this cosmetics things in middle school, she never did it. Flashback to Mirae trying to put on makeup in middle school.

VO – Putting on makeup and doing my hair, maybe people will say, that’s all?

In the present, the make up person tells Mirae that she is so pretty. Smile! You are like a pear! the make up person takes Mirae to the counter and tries to sell her a lot of things. Poor Mirae is oversold a lot of items. She leaves the store but wonders why she bought it all, how many candles will she need to sell?

Elsewhere, Kim Tae-hee tells her friend that seh is dating Tae-hyun. SA overhears this. Tae-hee tells her not to tell anyone. SA thinks back to the bar where Tae-hee and the sunbae were talking happily. She also thinks back to hearing Kim Tae-hee tell the sunbae that she is not drunk and dont’ laugh at her and….I like oppa.

he started laughing a bit at how cute she was and they hugged. One of the girls showed up absolutely drunk, and sees them, it ist he girl that Tae-hee is talking to now (I think).

SA thinks about all of this as she watches Tae-hee with her friend.

But then she leaves and goes to the Chemestry break room. The sunbae is there, so SA sits to talk to him and asks him if he went home okay that night. It must have been difficult to be a class leader. Tell me if you need any help, you can call me if you want to have a drink. I am a big fan of yours.

He is a bit shocked at first, but then says okay and quickkly drinks his drink.

Outside, JB and YE talk about how many guy friends JB has. MR is so impressed. JB says that she has a lot of guy friends, but she does not like any of them as a man, they are just friends. If she liked them as a man then she would not be their friend anymore. Mirae thinks about this.

LIBRARY
KS is in the library reading about how to make money. SA approaches him and asks him if he is studying. Then she asks him why he left early from the party. he tells her that he had something to do, just something. She asks him if he would like to watch a movie with her, they can do their homework later.

But he tells her that he has someone to go to the movies with already – Kang Mirae.

Cut to Mirae thinking to herself that she is going to see her Male Human Friend. She goes to the theater and sees KS standing like a model he is in a cell phone ad as he looks at his cell phone. She is frozen as she watches him watch his cell phone.

Their music plays as she just watches him. But then he feels something and looks over at her. She tries to hide that she was looking at him as he looks at her. She plays it off as she walks over to him and asks him what kind of movie he wants to watch. He already bought it so she is like, hahahaha good job FRIEND.

They go buy some food but KS pays for everything. She wonders why he is paying for everything and tries to pay half. But he tells her that it is okay. She is not okay with it and things that she should pay her own portion among friends.

They sit quietly and awkwardly for a moment as they wait for the movie to start. Mirae starts to talk about the ticket, they need to put it somewhere and perhaps they should take a photo with the movie ticket?

KS says he will do it and starts to take a selfie with the ticket but then puts Mirae in the photo and snaps it.

They go into the theater. Mirae mentions that they will get a high grade for the this homework (I think WY told them to watch a movie and write a report on it).

Meanwhile, SA goes home to her apartment in the poor side of town. YE sees her and thinks that she has been lying to everyone. (SA was also rude to an old lady who came to give her side dishes).

MOVIE
MR writes about the movie and thinks that she has to find some good points that she wants to watch again. But then she thinks about KS and glances at him. She tries not to look at him, but she can’t help it and wonders what she would like to see again. She says it is basic instinct as she continues looking at KS’s neck and chin and hand.

VO – You want to look at something pretty, it is not love it is just something that catches your eyes.

The girl on the other side of KS also wants to look at him even though she is on a date with someone else.

MR leans to her other side and hits a guy. This guy looks at her for a moment which makes MR sit back up. KS notices this and asks MR if she eats popcorn? MR thinks, this happens in romance movies. (They try to eat popcorn at the same timea nd touch hands). MR imagines this happening and also imagines that KS will feed her popcorn as well.

KS pulls her out of it and asks her if she is going to eat. She says she will eat but decides to use two strays as chopsticks to eat the popcorn with. KS is all like…what in the world? What are you doing?

MR is so happy and tells him that she is eating popcorn. It works well, too. She is able to gobble it all up.

After the movie, KS and MR leave awkwardly. MR says the movie is good, maybe they should say good bye now? But KS asks her if she is hungry, would you like pasta? MR immediately thinks that pasta is something you eat on a date. But she says pasta is good, she can eat anything.

PASTA PLACE
They go to a pasta place. but this place is more expensive than KS can afford. He rings up all the prices of everything in his head, he will be over his amount. But MR picks the cheapest item which lowers the cost a lot, he can actually afford it and will have 3 dollars left.

MR also gets a cheap drink, so he will have 7 dollars left. He is so happy, but in his way.

They start to talk a little bit. He wants to see her report but she smiles and says that it is her report, he should write his own. He tells her that he will not copy it, he just wants to see her handwriting. She is so flustered and says that she will go to the bathroom.

In the bathroom she wonders if she can think of a guy like that as a man with her. She walks back out and overhears two girls talking about how handsome KS is and how a super duper girl should be his girlfriend. MR hides her face and sits at the table with KS.

She asks him why he did not eat yet. He tells her that he was waiting for her. He also asks her when her birthday is, they should know as friends. In her head she thinks that she should not tell him her birthday and expect something. He starts to eat and tells her not to tell WY her birthday.

Meanwhile, WY is at home writing an application to look for a roommate. He says his room is a narrow apartment.

Back at the restaurant, KS is about to pay and pays for $30. MR wants to go dutch. But KS tells him that he did not give any money to WY, why are you going dutch with me? MR says it was a house warming party, he invited us. KS tells her that he is the one that asked her out so he will pay, don’t ask for dutch.

They go outside and it is raining. Theya re not prepared. KS thinks that he has 7000 won, will that be enough to catch a cab? But MR tells him to wait a second and takes off running in the rain. KS follows her slowly. MR runs to the convenience store and buys the last umbrella. She looks at KS.

They go oustide, MR tells KS that he can use it and she can run to the bus station. But he tells her that they can both use it and he will take her to the bus station. But she says it is too small for the both of them, you use it. However KS gives her the umbrella and tells her to use it. He takes off in the rain.

Cut to them both walking under the umbrella. MR thinks that KS is getting wet and wants to put the umbrella over him. But he thinks that she will get wet that way. he puts it more over her. She walks close to him and comments that the umbrella is so small right? he says right.

he asks her if she is wearing perfume? She says she does not wear it too often. He asks if it is because he hates it, but she says it is not like that. Then he tells her that he met that person at the hospital. Don’t you want to ask me how it was? But MR says he would hate it if she asked him.

But she ends up asking him. he says that it was good. He also tells her that she can wear her perfume. She says that she will not follow what he says, she will decide on her own. He says that is fine also.

She comments that it is good that he stopped hating his mother. he thanks her. But it is not clear on what he thanks her for.

Meanwhile, the politician is getting a report on his son. WJ’s business is not doing well so his son might also not be doing well.

Back to our duo, KS walked MR all the way back to her steps, and the rain also stopped. he gives her the umbrella because it is hers and then heads out. But she tells him to wait a moment. Perhaps he should take the umbrella with him, it might rain again after all. he takes it and thanks her for it. But she says that she is more thankful since he took her all the way there.

Ho looks at her intently, but she turns to leave. he also walks away. MR mutters that she thinks she will have a heart attack. She watches him walk away.

VO – I realized at that moment that I can not take him as a Male Human Friend.

UMMA
Cut to KS’s umma’s house. the politician father is there to meet with her. She lets him in but is not that enthused to see him. he storms in and wants to know what she is doing, is she getting her revenge on him?

She asks him what he is doing, does he thinks she is that easy that he can just come in like this? he clears his throat and asks her to take in Kyung-seok. DOn’t pretend like you don’t know that he left home. You told him that i hit you.

Umma – I did not tell him.

Father – only you and me know about that.

Umma – Maybe you told him.

Appa realizes that he is the one that told him. Umma tells him to leave if he is done and turns back to the window. Appa leaves and get in the car but he tells his driver to shut up before he can say anything (it has been ten years). Appa actually smiles though, it seems like he might be happy after seeing her.

BAR
WJ wonders how KS can sleep on the couch, you will fall off if you turn your body. You can sleep upstairs. he then says that he might go back home, his father will kill him if he loses all his money.

KS tells him that he will not go back home, he will find a place. Can you survive until that point. But WJ tells him that the world is not that easy.

KS meets with a job search person but he cannot give him any identification and still wants a high paying job. the job serach person tells him that he needs to go to a school job sight or an internet site, you will find a lot of jobs.

KS takes his advice and goes to the school to find a job. One of the students sees him and wonders why he there.

Cut to the male sunbae giving Ye-na a fan (or something). She tells him that when you hear that there are no trees then you can chop twenty trees, that is persistence. they joke for a moment about that but then they talk about how KS is looking for a job. But he is from a rich family, why is he looking for a job? He is the son of a politician that might be mayor soon.

Chan-woo was sleeping on a bench and overhears this. he thinks that must be why he did that. (Chan-woo is the bad guy from the earlier episodes).

Meanwhile, MR is also on campus and thinks that she will keep her distance from KS for awhile. She dodges KS.

KS is sitting outside when SA comes up to him to talk. But he tells her that he is busy and leaves.

WH and SW are also sitting outside and talking playfully. WH is annoyed by SW and walks away.

Inside, WY and CW talk. CW is having a hard time because he was embarrassed by a freshman and cant go to class normally. WY is pretty annoyed and says that he should apologize to the freshman.

CW leaves the room and runs right into KS. he tries to talk to him and says that he wanted to see him, can he talk to him? KS says he is busy so CW tells him he can talk to him later. KS goes inside WY’s office. CW mutters that he would not have done it if he knew that KS came from a rich family.

Inside, KS brings up the roommate flyer that WY left. WY asks him about it, he does not want a short term roommate, he wants a long term roommate. KS says he will be his roommate long term. But can he use the TV as a first payment?

WY guesses that he left home but KS says that he did not, he is independent.

WY quickly types something up and tells him that KS has $70 rent and he will have to do all the housework.

Elsewhere, MR’s parents drive to their daughters room and spot WY. Umma gets out of the car and talks to him. Appa gets out of the car as well. She asks him if he remembers her? WY says he does. Umma is so happy to see him and tells him that she can give him a ride.

MR shows up and introduces WY as her department sunbae. The parents are so happy to see him but the mother is the most happy. She asks MR all sorts of questions about the sunbae like how old he is. MR says he is 26 so he is 6 years older. Umma loves that and tells MR to give him some side dishes right now. Right now? Yes, right now.

MR walks outside to deliver the side dishes and gets a call from the CEO. She asks the CEO if she is okay. Hye-sung says she is fine and asks how KS is doing. MR tells her that he is fine he told her that they met. Hye-sung asks for his phone number, she did not have a chance to ask him for it. MR tells her that she will text it right away.

MR gets to WY’s home, he is shocked and happy that her mother has side dishes for him. They all go inside. But then KS comes out of the bathroom with wet hair. MR asks him what he is doing there. He tells her that he decided to live there.

COMMENTS
Loved today with all the cute fluttery scenes! It looks like we can expect more next week as well.

I wonder if KS might get a job at SA’s place. We already know that the boss loves to hire pretty people (it’s good for business) so you know he will jump at hiring KS. But KS might not want to be around SA so much.
