Misty Live Recap Episode 6

I am so excited to find out what happens this episode. Y’all, Misty is what people who recap drama’s LIVE FOR. There are so many things that are going on, so many subtleties that make a big impact later on. Things that you would notice if you were dissecting the drama, but that might just fly by on first or even second watch.

I need to go back and watch the first 5 episodes…but that is another thing, I cannot believe there have only been 5 episodes! I feel like I have sat through a 50 episode drama but in only 5 hours. There is no moment that is filler in this drama. Every single scene, glance, word…it is all needed to push the story forward. I haven’t watched a drama with no filler in the longest time.

It is kind of crazy coming over here right after Hwayugi because Hwayugi is mostly filler. Hwayugi is a fun ride, but at the end of each episode it always makes me wonder, “What just happened?” but Misty always makes me wonder, “WHAT JUST HAPPENED!!!” They both make me want to scream at the screen, but for very different reasons.

MISTY LIVE RECAP: EPISODE 6

OPENING
We are at the funeral and the funeral procession is going on. EJ and HR are standing next to each other as they walk. There are hundreds of people in this procession.

The police are looking in on the funeral and we cut to the autopsy report. The body had all broken bones. He also had a hit to the head. It looks like it could be caused by the car but KJ wants to know if it could have been caused by someone. The doctor doesn’t want to say that it is, but KJ keeps questioning him, he says that there was no smoke in the lungs! KJ yells at the doctor, what does he think! Was he killed or was it an accident!

Cut back to the funeral, KJ is being cremated and someone cries, “Hyung…”

Back to KJ and the doctor. KJ wants the doctor’s opinion unofficially, he just wants his opinion. The doctor sighs, he says that even though it was an accident, it was too perfect. he has some suspicion, KJ has a bruise on his wrist. A bruise could happen after death, but he thinks it happened before the accident. It is his guess, he cannot say for sure. KJ thanks him and leaves, but the doctor yells after him, “I can’t tell for sure!”

FUNERAL
Everyone is outside. EJ and HR are standing together as the wind blows there hair. EJ is in a state of shock, she wonders how someone’s life can be so groundless. HR holds her and tells her that they should leave and someone comes up to EJ and tells her that they should leave sister-in-law. SJ watches all of this and gives KJ a report, it feels like something is about to happen.

But KJ is at the police station right now. he thinks it is a 50% chance of murder. The boss tells KJ that he should bring some evidence to break the 50% chance. He needs some variables.

TITLE: VARIABLES

TW AND KC
TW is talking to KC in their office. KC says that it is difficult to find the people that work for them for a little salary. But TW tells him to find someone. KC says, yes, yes and goes back and mumbles to himself about having to work for passion and not for money.

EJ’S HOME
HR is preparing a tea for EJ and tells her to drink it. It will make her body a little warmer. She says that she is happy that the funeral went okay, she took care of all the fees and the media will be a little quieter now. The news people won’t post things too quickly now, so EJ should take care of herself and the baby.

Cut back to the funeral. KJ asked EJ some questions at the funeral. He wants to know if EJ wants to cover this up quickly. EJ says that she doesn’t want her husband to have rumors after death. KJ thinks that the honor of the dead is a good reason, but she should know the truth. EJ says that it is just a rumor of KJ and HR, but her husband is already dead and her friend is alive and in pain. She doesn’t want to experience these dirty rumors about her husband. KJ wants to know, does she really want to bury it like this? no regrets?

Cut to HR telling EJ to think about her child, she is a mom now. EJ tells her that she will not live in regret for her future baby, but it cuts back and forth between EJ at the funeral and EJ talking to HR. EJ says that she will go back to the US as soon as they wrap up everything. It will be easier for her to survive in the US. She thanks HR for her help and HR tells her that it is okay. EJ starts to drink the tea, but something doesn’t feel right.

HR drives to work or to her house, she is in the parking garage and looking at the black box. She shakes her head, but then she gets a text message. Someone wrote that she killed him, this person has evidence that she killed him. HR looks around the parking garage, what is this?

JBC
GS is meeting with the VP. They recovered all the news by a lot. But GS says that they are dealing with someone thing different now. HR brought all the news back, she is the only one who could recover 11%. The VP wants to know what the danger is of having HR around. But someone texts GS at that time. He keeps talking to the VP. The VP tells him that having only HR as his only card to play is irresponsible, he knows that right?

HR
GS goes to meet with HR. The autopsy report is dubious. HR says that the autopsy report is always dubious, that is not enough to use her. But GS wants to know about the other variables. HR says that her friend EJ might go back to the US soon. GS says that he has some other news about HR being the killer, that VP is pressuring him a lot. HR says that this is not the first time that they have had threatening messages. GS tells her that he needs to think of a spare. HR wants to know, will he take JW back?

SY AND HR
SY tells HR that she can’t go backward or forward, this is the most dangerous part of her life. Then she says that HR didn’t do it, right? SY says that if HR really did it, she would do it tighter and with a good alibi. HR would take care of this better. HR thinks that she needs to think of a good plan. SY brings up her husband, TW. HR thinks about this and we see the mysterious man, MW, is looking at HR through the window. Then he looks at the snow falling around him and starts to walk away. But he stops and takes in the snow again.

EJ
Meanwhile, EJ is sitting at home and watching the snowfall. Then she looks at herself in the kitchen folding clothes. She looks at her husband coming back home. he asks her what she is doing. EJ tells him that they should go back to the US, his competition is soon, they should prepare. KL tells her that he will give up this competition, he is not is a good state for it. he starts to drink and EJ tells him that he should stop! Stop drinking! But KL doesn’t’ want to stop drinking. He tells her that he is doing it because he is stressed.

EJ wants to know how he got in his position, he got there because she cleaned so many buildings for him, but he wants to take a break now? Is it hard? he leaves and she tells him to stop. But then KL throws his glass and tells her that he is going crazy! She is suffocating! But EJ brings up KL sleeping with another woman, why is he doing this again? He said that he would stop! Okay, JW is young and beautiful, so she can understand that, but what about HR, HR is her friend, how could he do that to her! How could he do that!

But KL gets a text at that time. He answers the phone and says that he will be there. EJ tells him not to leave! But he gets his jacket and is about to leave. EJ tells him to stop. Stop right there! She takes off her wedding ring and tells him that if he leaves now, we are done. KL comes turns back to her, takes off his wedding ring, and sets it on the table. He quietly leaves.

EJ drops her rings on the floor and it rolls under the couch. She cries and cries and cries and looks at their happy photo together. Cut back to the present. EJ is looking at her ring and then looks at the snow once again.

But then she pulls out a trash bag and goes upstairs. She puts all of Kl’s clothes in a trash bag, then she looks at the pictures. But we cut to her walking down the steps with a trash bag full of things. But as she is about to leave, a chip fall onto the floor. KL had the black box chip! The chip that everyone is searching for.

EJ picks it up, this is the key to this case.

---

HR AND TW
HR is sitting at home in the dark. TW comes home and wonders why she is sitting int he dark and she says that she just is. TW starts to fill her in on what is happening legally. This evidence is nothing so she won’t be restrained. But HR tells her that she has so many enemies. Even people who aren’t involved in this accident, want to bury her. Her coworkers that she has known for 10 years even want to bury her. Did she live this wrongly?

TW sits next to her, there are successful people and people who envy the successful. But these two types of people don’t like the person they admire. HR thinks that she doesn’t’ know when she will be fired from news 9. TW pulls out a letter and gives it to her, he tells her that they should go together. The government representative will be there as well. This is an invitation to TW’s university lawyer gettogether. There will be higher-ups there and TW says that he might be able to help her. One of his sunbaes’ has a good line with a prosecutor.

HR tells him that he hates things like that. Like bribery or using his connections. But TW just says that he is tired and goes to his office. HR watches him as he walks away.

EJ
EJ opens the chip! It shows HR walking into her car. then we see the inside view of HR in the car.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

HR goes to the office and her husband is undressing. She tells him that she will ignore this one and sets the invitation down. She tells him that she will be honest so she shouldn’t have any troubles if she keeps the news 9 position or not, it is not his problem, it is hers. But TW thinks that if she is fired without any good reason, people will suspect her more. He told her that he will protect her, her dignity and her position and everything she wants to have in the future.

HR tells him that this will shake his rule. But TW tells her that he doesn’t care about that, he doesn’t have to keep his beliefs because he won’t even be able to protect his own wife. He will do everything for her and this will apologize for the last 5 years.

HR starts to tear up and tells him that he is a bad guy for making everyone so sorry. TW walks closer to her and tells her that he won’t let anyone touch her. He won’t let anyone hurt her, he will keep his promise. HR pulls him into a hug and he hugs her back. This is a much closer hug than the one they had in the garage. their music starts to play as TW tells her that everyone will be okay, HR. Then he pulls her arms from around him and he looks deeply at her. he holds her face.

Cut to EJ looking at the video, her face is astonished.

Back to TW and HR, they are still looking at each other passionately and finally, they kiss and they sink into each other. We cut back and forth between EJ watching the video and TW and HR getting tighter and tighter into their passionate embrace. TW pushes HR up against his desk and we cut to the end of the video.

EJ is just looking at the black screen of the video. It looks like she has switched to evil as she stares at it.

TW’S OFFICE
KC is interviewing someone. The mysterious man, MW! he asks him what he has done until now and MW says that he was in jail for 19 years. KC immediately spits out all the coffee that he was drinking. He tries to play it off, ahh, it is okay to go to jail…ah, it is not bad, I’m not saying that it is bad….um, why did you go there?

Murder.

KC is stunned. He looks at the resume, but nothing is filled out. KC looks around as if he thinks he might die right now.

---

LAW SCHOOL PARTY
YJ is there with her husband. She tries to give him a pep talk, maybe he can get a job with one of these companies. But then some rumors start to spread and we see that TW and HR have come in. HR is wearing a super black dress mini skirt and TW looks as sharp as always. But everyone is ignoring them. TW tells HR that it is fine, they can ignore them as well.

But then someone comes up to TW, Ahhhhhhhh TW, how have you been? TW says that he has been fine and introduces his wife. The man looks at the wife like he wants to eat her and he tells her that he enjoys her news. TW’s father is a supreme court judge, it seems like his father might have contacted this man and arranged for all these meetings. This man’s family is the biggest law families in Korea, it is the same company that YJ wanted her husband to get into.

This man makes a big scene about meeting TW, but then they go into the Gold Room exclusive club area. Among the alumni from law school, these people are the highest of the highest society. They are like Supreme Court judges and Congressman and all those types of very influential people. The top 0.1% in Korea.

Among them, TW’s father is super influential and everyone is amazed to meet with TW. This man introduces TW around. One of the people there is the VP of JBC, TW introduces himself and says that his wife talks about him a lot. This is the first time that the VP knows who HR’s husband is and that he is the son of a very influential man and family.

Flashback to SY talking to HR about her husband and his family. She tells HR that TW can bring all these people to his side, his family is that influential.

Cut back to the law school party. YJ is outside with everyone else, she is wondering what she can do with her husband. Her husband is drinking shot after shot after shot and YJ is wondering what to do. HR is not inside the room, only the super influential men are inside. Instead, she is left standing by herself and no one is talking to her. But then she gets a text message. Someone tells her that she is a very pretty killer. HR look around. Then another text: Can I reveal the evidence that you are the killer? It is very interesting, right?

HR spots someone with a mask and starts to follow them.

INSIDE THE GOLD ROOM
The VP talks to TW, he must be suffering right now right? He says that public opinion is difficult right now. But TW says that public opinion can be swayed. The VP says that TW is there for a favor. he tells the VP that his son was in trouble due to drugs and the VP suffered a lot until his son was released. TW took care of this case. He is not asking for a favor, he is just there to asks the VP to trust HR and to protect her. The law firm of the mega frim looks on at TW and smiles.

Meanwhile, HR is running after this man. SHe is really after him and she catches his face as he goes down the steps. She remembers him, even through the mask, she knows that he is the brother of Kevin Lee.

But, back in the gold room, TW is talking to this super law firm man. He wants to know why TW is working so hard on this case, does he have any other variables? TW says that he is working on all the variables, he wants to make it so that it doesn’t happen, can this man help with that? But the camera scrolls out to YJ’s husband, he heard it all and he leaves in anger.

HR
HR is still steady running after this man. She tells him that he is KLs manager, not his real brother, what is he trying to do? But then we see that HR’s alarm has gone off on her car. Perhaps the manager hit it? She gets a phone call from TW, he wants to know where she is. He quickly runs to where she is in the garage, the car is still beeping, but then we see a full image of the car. On it is written: Ko Hae-ran is a killer!”

TW wants to know if she saw who wrote it? She says no, but TW doesn’t believe her or he is afraid of her. HR tells him that she followed him, but she didn’t get a good look at him. TW is very concerned and wants to know if she was threatened? He takes off his jacket and puts it over her, let’s go.

But HR says that she will get her revenge on this person, she will not just let him do whatever he wants to her.

GARAGE CCTV
TW finds out that the person knew where the cameras were, he hid his ace well. But then he asks to see his face on the other camera.

Cut to SY talking to HR. SY gives her all the information she needs on the manager. HR lingers on him having a sister in the hospital.

TW AND KC
KC is super scared of this man who is there for the interview and practices his self-defense moves. TW finally shows up and KC tells him that this man has been here since yesterday. TW looks at the resume. This man didn’t go to the army and he was in jail for 1st-degree murder. But this man entered the best law school in Korea just now, he has his acceptance letter as part of his resume documents. TW is interested in him.

DETECTIVE AND YJ’S HUSBAND
The husband meets with detective KJ, he says that he is interested in this case and he wants to know what is going on.

TW AND MW
TW interviews MW. TW asks about the murder, was it planned or incidental. MW says that the man he killed threatened his friend with his power and his money, so MW couldn’t just let that happen. TW wants to know how much this man can do and MW asks how much this man wants him to do. They are quiet for a moment.

Flashback to the funeral. This man was at the funeral and was watching EJ.

Cut to the detective telling YJ’s husband about what is happening in the case. The detective gives the husband a photo of KL’s manager. He disappeared after the funeral. He wants that person because this is the guy that should know the most about Kevin Lee.

The man that everyone wants, sneaks into a hospital. He goes to his sister’s room and HR is already there talking with the sister.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

HR
HR turns when the girl calls for her brother. She goes up to him and asks him to talk, either there or outside. The brother looks at his sister and they go outside. In the hallway, the mysterious man, MW is there. He sees HR with this manager and he watches them go into the stairwell.

The manager threatens HR, but she holds her ground. HR just lists all the crimes that this manager has committed and Kevin Lee died. She tells him that he only has one sister who needs a blood transfusion. So that is why he is trying to blackmail her. He has no way out, he can’t even breath, why should he live like this, he hates society. The manager goes to punch her, but he holds back. HR just looks at him and tells him that he shouldn’t live like this. But the manager says that she killed a person. HR smiles and says who says she did that? He says that he saw everything in the parking lot, he can’t prove it, but he can use it to threaten her because he has the original Thailand pictures.

HR says that he can threaten her, but she can’t be put in jail from those pictures. He says he will just threaten her. HR wants to know if he will continue threatening her and watch his sister die? She says that she will pay for the hospital bill and put her on the transplantation list, but she wants the original pictures. She is giving him a chance to live like a real human, for his sister’s sake. She leaves as if none of this bothers her at all. But she gets wobbly once she is out of the stairwell. Then she takes a call and says that she will be there right away.

She leaves and we see MW watching her walk away.

EJ AT HOME
EJ’s home is in disarray. She has been drinking a lot. The chip is still in the computer and EJ gets up and goes to the kitchen. She tries to eat something and makes herself some bibimbop. She touches her stomach and then starts to eat some more. But the chip is on her mind. She keeps eating.

JBC
JW is back. She walks back into JBC with a bright smile and the news team manager welcomes her back brightly. HR sees JW there but doesn’t greet her. She gets a phone call right at that moment from EJ. EJ wants to meet somewhere. As she hangs up she sees JW going up into the director’s office.

EJ
EJ takes the chip out of the computer and just stares at it. her face is hard as she looks back.

Cut to her meeting with HR. They are at a cafe and EJ is sat at the table. HR comes up and sits with her. She wants to know what the occasion is today and EJ says that she is going to sell the house and go back to the US. HR wants her to find a professional to do it, but EJ wants to do it herself It was the first home that she had with her husband. She tells HR that she won’t go back to the US anytime soon, she will stay there and wrap up everything herself. This surprises HR. EJ tells HR that she will repay everything to HR, exactly the same about that HR did to her.

Then we see a man come in. Who is this man? We don’t know. He walks up to the table and says that he is sorry that he is late. It is Tae-wook! In a voice-over, we hear what EJ said echoing. She will repay everything that HR has done for her, you can look forward to it Hae-ran.

Fade Out.

PREVIEW

TW has hired MW and has him doing tasks for him
HR sees the mysterious man and we see a flashback of her getting trapped in a room with a man when she was a teenager.
EJ talks to TW about HR’s past and she asks TW to defend her husband against the company that gave him the commercial. EJ starts to seduce TW.

SCENES

Scene #6: TW uses his wits to ask the VP of JBC to look out for his wife. Meanwhile, HR is chasing the perp that sent her those text messages.

Scene #7: TW is looking for his wife, she is in the garage and their car is vandalized

Scene #8: TW gets to his office and KC fills him in on the person who is applying for the position. Meanwhile, the detective meets with YJ’s husband.

Scene #9: HR confronts the texting and vandalizing thug like her ovaries are made of steel.

Scene #10: JW is back to work at JBC and HR gets a call from EJ.

Scene #11: EJ meets with HR in a cafe. EJ won’t be leaving Seoul anytime soon she wants to repay HR for all that she has done for her. TW shows up late to the meeting.
