Misty has been one crazy rollercoaster ride that I am so happy to share with so many fun people. I loved reading all the theories (there were so many good ones!) and coming up with a few crazy ones of my own. This has been a lot of fun, y’all. Cheers!

OPENING
HR turns around and sees TW, she asks, was it you? the camear scans to the brooch and we see TW pull it off HR’s jacket in a vision/flashback. She says, it wasn’t you right?
We see another image of TW on that ngiht.
HR – tell me it wasn’t you, you are not that kind of guy
TW – Back then, I couldn’t see anything.
Flashback of that night and TW seeing KL driving his car in the opposite direction of his. Then he sees all the annoying moments he had with Kevin Lee. He thinks he is sleeping with his wife.
TW – And I couldn’t hear anything.
TW drives off and does his big U-turn. the traffic camera catches him. He speeds up as he catches up with Kevin Lee. KL sees him behind his car. TW pulls up beside KL’s car and looks over at him. KL also looks at TW cavaleirly. TW rolls his window down and so does KL. they glare at each other. But then TW looks to the front and drives off, he speeds away.
KL drives off as well. They meet somewhere and KL wants to know what this is. TW tells him not to come in front of HR any more, she has family and she is his wife. KL says she is his wife, but why did she meet me? A good husband and a good family that is why she picked you, but maybe she wasn’t satisfied, what she really wanted was lvoe.
TW – stop.
KL keeps talking about wife, family? that is a business, she is not your woman on paper, have you heard “love” from HR. No, right? KL steps closer to TW and says, My wife…F-you. TW grabs him and pushes him up against the wall. KL hits his head hard against the wall and falls.
TW tells him that he told him to stop and walks away. But KL falls to the ground. TW turns around and looks at the body, what?????
TW – everything happened so quickly.
TW drives off in the car, he is shell shocked. KL is in the backseat. TW is crying, he is so nervous. But then he turns off really quickly. he is in KL’s car and he pulls over on a side street somewhere hidden. he thinks for a moment and looks back at KL in the car. Then he sees the train coming. he looks at the train for a moment. then he drives off again.
TW drives the car and crashes it into a pole. The brooch falls and TW is also unconcious.
TW – back then, I wanted to die together, but I coudn’t even do that.
TW wakes up and gets out of the car, he looks back at KL in the backseat. then he looks around at the snow falling. He grabs KL and puts him in the front seat. He wipes his finger prints and shuts the door.
TW – It sounds like a lie, right? Everything is buried like that.
TW runs through the tunnel. then he waits at the bustop. He hops on the bus. the weather says there is a big snow storm. TW sees 911 going to a scene and watches it from the bus. he is shocked as the bus drives away.

HR tells the over night breaking news, Kevin Lee died.
HOUSE
TW looks at HR as he tells her this. She is crying, why didn’t you tell me? Why? You, were you planning on blaming me? Did you really want to see me blamed? TW says he was suffering, he didn’t know what to do. HR says he should have told her, he had a lot of chances, if she didn’t ask him then he would lie to her and pretend. He says he didn’t want her to find out. If he could bury it then he would. He wanted to do that and he thought he could do that.
(streaming issues)
TW is crying and HR left the room.
TW – I couldn’t tell you anything, whtever Isay, it will just sound like an excuse. HR, I’m sorry, everything sounds like lies and un truths, but this is true.
HR cries in her car and TW is still in the room.
TW – You were love for me.
TITLE: SMOKE AND FOG
EJ gets a phone all. Yes, she is he one that made the appointment, yes, thank you. She is in her home and hangs up the phone. She is going to the US and is packing. She picks up her laptop and thinks back to the memory chip. She holds the laptop tightly, but then trashes it.
SY is still unconcious in the hospital. HR is sitting next to her, but then she gets up and wallks out. She walks down the hall and sees a woman. It is EJ. they stare at each other for a moment and then sit togehter.
EJ – When you say it is not, when you can deny, then you have hope, but when that breaks then nothing is left. Next Monday, i will fly out and I will lead my own life. I don’t know where the end it or where I am heading. When I came home back then, my husband told me to visit Hawaii for a week. We just went to the courtroom and didn’t hav a honeymoon, but I wanted to come back as soon as possible. That is how we took that airplane. I shouldn’t have done that, if we didn’t take that plane, if we didn’t see you at the airport, then my husband wouldnt’ have died.
HR thinks back to the airport and running into KL.
HR stands and starts to walk off.
EJ – are you satisfide now? It is all because of you HR. Me, my husband, MW, your husband, it is all because of you that we came to this point. Are you satisfied now? Are you happy? I wanted to ask you if you are happy now.
HR – Bye-bye EJ. Let’s not see each other anymore.
TW is still at home and is staring off into nothingness.

JBC
GS comes to work early, he can’t sleep. Everyone is working hard so he goes straight to his desk. But then he sees HR with soju bottles on air. He says, who is drinking int his sacred place. But then he sees that it is HR. He asks her what she is doing there. HR looks a little drunk. She asks him, director, HR’s news, you said HR does real news right? GR wants to know if something happened. HR says she always has something. She says SY is in critical care so she doens’t have anyone to drink with. He tells her to drink with her husband at home. But HR just starts chicking.
She says she moved forward only and tried hard not to be behind others, she wored really really hard, why is everything all messed up? Why am I wrong now? GS sits next to her and says that no one knows what is wrong with their life, they just live their life as their daily life. She wonders, is that right? That is sad. She says it isn’t sad, it is fair. they only live today.
HR wants to know if he has any regrets, he says, regrets? Regret never comes first, I am just a news guy, accept news, nothing mattes. Maybe it is true for you as well, that is why we have you know. So stop crying and stand up before the kids come out.
He helps her out and takes the soju bottle out. He tells her to stand up as he leaves. But HR stays there and cries a little bit longer. GS looks at her finally standing from his office and hangs his jacket up before sighing and getting to work.
HR leaves and think sabout what EJ said…it is all becaue of you HR. Are you happy? What did you do about my mishaps.
HR stumbles and everything in her purse falls out. It is strewn all over the floor. MW comes up and starts to pick everything up. He puts it all back in her purse and helps her stand back up. He smiles at her.
MW – I came here to say bye.
He hands her her purse
MW – do you know that I don’t regret my choice back then. I never regreted it, because you deserve it HR. So, don’t feel sorry to anyone. It is not your fault, we are just living our lives. EJ and me and TW.
HR – Myung-woo, you…
MW – I am leaving.
MW walks off.
VO – But HR, I think it is fortunate, I have nothing but I can at least give you my name. This vacation was short, but it was a happy moment for me, so don’t cry too long.
HR – Myung-woo…..
VO – are you satisfied, are you happy?
TW is still at home in the living room, staring at nothing and holding his hands.

TW goes to his family house in the Morning. He asks them if they have eaten yet. His mother says they havent and he says that is good, he didn’t have his breakfast.
He sits for breakfast. His mom asks him why his wife didn’t come, she tells him to go somewhere quiet together, they never traveled together. He agrees. But his parents notice something isnt right.
Cut to TW talking to his father. He asks him what happened. Tell him, what happened? TW says, father, I won’t be able to see you for awhile. His father wants to know if he is going somewhere and TW says yes, for awhile. His father wants to know, is it something you are responsible for? TW tells him that he killed someone.
The father is stunned.
TW bows his head. Sorry.
Father – Stupid guy.
TW – I’m sorry.
HOSPITAL
SY wakes up in her hospital bed and HR is sleeping on the floor next to her. SY chuckles and starts graing about all the pain her body is in. HR wakes up and asks if she is okay, she will call the doctor. SY asks where TW is, what happened to him? HR wants to know what she is talking about. SY tells her, didn’t TW tell you anything.
SY went to see TW at his office and she was leaving. Flashback. SY says she just met EJ. maybe they need some explanations, lawyer Jung. The manager leaves and looks like he wonders what is going on. SY tells TW that EJ told her about the blackbox chip, is it true? Why did you erase it? TW says he just idn’t like it. She says of course he would hate for it to be public, but as her lawyer he shouldn’t have erased it. If something went wrong, she could have had it.
TW says he was confident because HR didn’t kill anyone. SY says it sounds like he knows who killed KL. Why was the brooch at the crime scene? Do you know? He says he knows. SY is stunned.
HR goes home and goes traight to TW’s office.
SY – He said he wants to take a vacation with her together, only the two of you. Accept your honeymoon, you never had a trip. He wanted to confess.
HR franstically looks for TW. She calls him and he picks up. SHe wants to know where he is right now.
COMMERCIAL BREAK

HR goes to a museum possibly? She looks for TW and sees him looking at a painting. She walks up to him.
HR – TW shi
TW – this is my favorite artist painting, when I am having a hard time, I was comforted a lot by this artist, art.
HR – SY told me.
TW – Would you like to drink some tea?
In his office, KC sees the travel documents and sighs. A flashback of TW giving him some tickets. He tells him to take a vacation with his family, he worked hard with a low salary, I was always thankful. KC thanks him and asks if anything happened to him. TW says nothing happened. KC thanks him again and asys that he won’t leave right away, he will wait until summer. But TW tells him that he doens’t have to, he will take a vacation. But KC says he won’t listen to him this time.
There is a nock on the door. KJ comes in. He wants to know where TW is. KC doesn’t know. KC tells him to just stop, the case is all closed, why does he torture HR. He says he just does his job. KC yells at him, do a right job, my lawyer isn’t that kind of person, he always helps the poor, he isn’t a murderer, do a good job! You are good for nothing.
KC leaves with tears in his eyes and walks to his car. then we cut to him cleaning the office. But then he sees something. He pulls something out of a bag. It is a shirt. He wants to know why TW threw something like that away. A bandage and a t-shirt. Then he thinks back to TW on that day that KL died with the car accident. he went to work and TW was already there, did he see the news, KL…ah, you are already watching it. What is going on?
KC holds the clothing and then hides it in the trashcan again. He ties up the trashcan and hen cries in his car some more. But he sees someone comng to his car. He stares out the window at him. The man knocks on the window.

TW and HR sit and talk at the museum. He says he wanted to spend one more day with her like this. It is better than he thought, why didn’t they spend time like this together before? he thought it was love, so he was confident. Whatever you do, I thought I could change you. But after time passed, you were moving further away from me and I became smaller. I couldn’t stand that. It was difficult.
HR – you, are you really going there?
TW – thank you for coming, and, i am sorry.
He looks out the window as he tries not to cry. But then he stands and leaves. HR sits and tries not to cry.
But then she goes up to TW outside the museum and pulls his hand. She tells him that they should think about it a little longer, sure, lets go ona trip first. Lets think about what to do again. She pulls him into a hug.
HR – I can’t do it like this TW, I can’t do it.
He hugs her back and they have a moment where they hug each other tightly.
TW – How come we became like this?
HR – How come we ended up like this?
MW puts HR’s picture on a wall and steps back to look at it.
JBC
HR goes to work like a zombie. They tell her she is on vacation until next week, is she okay? She doesn’t look okay at all. She goes upstairs and meets with GS. She goes inside and he is happy to see her. She takes a white note and writes something on it. GS just watches her and then asks if something happened.
She gives him the note.
HR – News 9’s headline. Don’t make it breaking news, it is news 9’s headline. Can you at least do that for me?
GS – are you really okay?
She leaves and GS is watches the door. HR goes back downstairs and sits at her desk like a zombie.
Note: Kevin Lee’s killer is Kang Tae-wook, he confessed to the police.
GS – Argh, this is driving me crazy.
OUTSIDE
TW is about to cross the street. he looks at the police building. The light turns and he starts walking across the street. He makes it across and goes inside the police gates.
HR holds her head at her desk. But then she stands and looks out the window. She opens it reluctantly.
TW gets to the front oor and goes inside.
HR turns away and goes back to her desk.
TW walks thorughthe office, but something is wrong, people are running about.
JBC manager – What? The real killer? Okay, tell me! What?
The manager looks at HR. He hangs up and everyone asks what is wrong. The manager says the real killer turned himself in. They ask who it is, but he can’t say. he keeps looking at HR.
Cut to KJ with MW. He is in an interrogation.
Manager – Ha Myung-woo.
JW – huh? Ha Myung-woo?
HR is shocked. What are you talking about. The real murderer is Ha Myung Woo? The manager says he turned himself in as the killer. HR looks stunned.
TW hears about this as well. the detective says that TW can see him later.
INTERROGATION
KJ – hey Ha Myung-woo, do you know what you are saying.
MW – Yes, I know.
KJ – So , you really killed KL?
MW – Yes, and I also killed Baek Dong-young
KJ – Why?
MW – because they were torturing Ko Hae-ran
KJ gets a call. they say that MW is a psychopath, he has only photos of HR inside his house.
Manager – he was in jail for murder and he collected all HR’s things.
SJ – we found teh same drug that we found on the managers body
KJ – You can’t kill him! You were in jail!
MW – I ordered it to a hit man from the jail.
KJ – Why are you lying like this.
MW – I can’t endure anyone who is torturing HR, that is why Idid this.
KJ grabs MW.
MW – I killed them all!
KJ – You spent 19 years there and you want to go back again. How are you destroying your life like this?
MW – I never destroyed my life. I killed them, okay?
KJ lets go of MW and they have a stare off.
GS comes out, make some news, KL’s true killer came out! Hey HR, you know about him well, so give us some sources. HR is stunned. GS says that the fact is that the real murderer confessed, lets go with the facts.
TW stands at the police station adn KC comes out to greet him. He says MW came to see him.
Flashback to MW meeting KC. MW gives a letter to KC and asks him to hand it to lawyer TW. KC gives him the letter. They both stare at it and TW opens it.
MW – You should protect HR until the end, that is your punishment.
TW turns and we see JBC news with JW.
JW says that KL was actually murderered and MW said that he is the real killer. He already killed someone 19 years ago and he was stalking KL. He is also related with KL’s managers death.
EJ watches this at home. EJ goes to meet with MW in the jail. and asks why he did this, it is all because of HR.
MW – It was you. You started everything. It was you.
Flashback to MW waiting somewhere and EJ seeing him when they were kids.
COMMERCIAL BREAK

EJ sees MW waiting at the school and looks heistant. But then she goes up to him. He asks where HR is. She says that she left first, didn’t he know? HR went to see the jewlery shop ajussi, the loan shark guy. But it is strange, why did he call her at closing time, he has a bad reputation.
MW takes off running and runs all the way to the jewlry shop. Then we see the crime scene. MW is in the car and HR is looking at him. EJ is also there, she doesn’t know what to do. She looks at HR and then looks back at MW.
in the present, MW says, if she didn’t do that , then he and HR may have led a different life.
EJ – So, your misfortune is because of me? Becaue of me?
MW – No, it is no ones fault, we are all living our own lives. So EJ, you live your life, forget everything, just stop hating.
EJ takes that in for a moment and we cut to her walking down the street contemplatively. She stops and just thinks as the operatic music plays. Then she starts walking again.
HR looks at the note that MW left HR. TW and HR sit at the table as they both look at this note.
Flashback to HR confronting GS, why did he do that, she ave him the truth.
GS – the news is delivering fact, MW is the killer. You can’t catchthe news with your feeling. You can’t make news only with feeling. People like this as the news, you have a 19 year old stalker and TW protected you. People are excited about this, it is nothing to lose for me.
HE gives her something, paperwork.
GS – you are the only one, KHR’s interview. Interview all the big people. You will be the Oprah Winfrey of JBC.
HR – what about the truth?
GS – Lets say that MW’s heart covered up the truth, so you live today.
HOME
HR walks away
VO- we will live our life, we don’t know where we are going. (and something else).
TW watches her walk away.
HR cries in her make up chair.
Cut to someone writing a note. Kevin Lee murder case. It is GS, he puts the note HR wrote inside a tiny envelope and puts it away with a lot of other little otes. He sighs and puts this box away in a secret place and looks at it for a moment. Then he goes back to looking over the News 9 desk.
SPRING
We have a lot of Misty because of the weather change.
We see TW’s home, he comes out of his study and grabs his suit on the couch. It is a new suit possible? there is a note, 5 oclock news room. he goes outside and gets in his car.
KJ is there again (good Lord). TW says he is going to his wifes case. KJ says MW’s sentencing is tomorrow, if he is lucky then he will get a life sentence. He just wanted to see TW’s face. KJ says he doesn’t want to see criminals live their life happily. TW asks if he is done. KJ says it is pretty Misty today, safe driving. TW gets in the car and leaves.
TW drives off and we cut to HR at her makeup desk. She talks playfully with her makeup artist, did she do something nice for her skin? GS comes in and says HR looks like spring.
KO HAE RANS INTERVIEW SHOW
One of the pdn’s says for everyone to clap when HR comes out.
It is super Misty as TW drives. it is hard to see. TW has flowers in the car and HR calls. She asks where he is. He says he is almost there, he is at the tunnel. HR tells him that the recording starts soon, don’t be late.

GS says that her second interview is TW. You can do a good job. He leaves and we see TW driving to
HR – I dreamed about happiness, the happiness that I could achieve
TW – What did I dream about.
TW shows up and walks to the room
TW – was it you? Or was it the perfect me for you?
Why was the brooch at the scene? HR, answer me.
TW thinks back to showing up at HR’s interrogation scene. he is her husband.
VO – what if I just confessed back then.
TW – KHR has nothing to do with this case, that night, the last person who saw KL…was me.
HR – Yobo
VO – If I did that, would I remain a perfect man for you?
TW is still driving and tearing up. He gets to the tunnel and he speeds up. He closes his eyes and revs the engine as he drives through the tunnel.
INTERVIEW SHOW
HR goes to the interview and everyone claps. She introduces herself and says thank you for coming despite of the fog. She talks playfully for a bit and teh audience smiles. Someone asks her if she is happy now. HR pauses.
VO – I thought I almost achieved it, but when I opened my hand, there was nothing.
The back, someone calls but the woman says they are reording. She looks shocked though.
HR is paused on stage.
VO – Maybe we tried to fight hard to achieve something that we can’t achieve,.
GS yells at HR to snap out of it.
HR tears up.
VO – So, are you happy?
Fade Out
COMMENTS
Y’all, what happened with that ending? That was probably the worst ending that could possibly happen. I can’t recommend this show with that ending. But I am happy that I watched it live with everyone here! This was a fun drama despite this ending because of y’all!

after countless of dramas I’ve watched prior Misty, this drama definitely got me intrigued and made me fully invested to it, mentally and emotionally plus my time. It’s been a while since the last time a drama made me feel this way.

Whatever happens tonight, I hope it isn’t a rushed ending, but I doubt it would leave unanswered questions and the writer would make us draw our own conclusions. It’s been a fun ride with all you ladies and gents.

Someone mentioned on Soompi that TW taking the brooch is so far, only HR’s guess. That’s absolutely right, but I don’t think it’s far from the truth.

Right, the time for predictions is over! Now it’s time to find out everything. Like @Hello97 said, I loved hanging out with everyone on this drama so many great men and women with all the theories and clues everyone found. I’m still nervous about this ending though, eep!
Just got here in time. I’m a bit too nervous to find out what’s gonna happen, but I hope the ending will be great. I’ve thought about just reading the ending of the recap because I was not sure whether or not I could handle it, if something too unforeseen would happen. xD – But I’m here and as ready as I can be.

Okay then. That why this Writer has given us such a Great show to enjoy. What happen MAKES sense. No way she planted the Broach to frame HR. A confrontation verbal and physical and not even a smash your face fight. KL just happened to have a soft head!! TW crime would be not seeking medical help leaving the scene etc etc NOT murder.

Wow everyone leaving!! Well just EJ but I expected that I mean give it up already Woman and go live a new life and have lots of babies. As for MW I think he knows TW is a good guy and somehow HR will be alright with him so he probably wants to live in a small farm and grows a garden.
This eipsode’s title lives up to the dramas name until the end. “Smoke and Fog” equals Misty 🙌🏼😫🙈

Kevin Lee was cremated but at least there is the autopsy reports but I do not recall evidence of KL being in back seat… there would be blood. Will there be a trial??? Is there time!!!!
Okay worst case scenario TW goes to jail. HR career may suffer? I don’t know hard to tell but viewers may not appreciate her tryst with KL, both married. Court proceedings is public no? And HR still loves TW and waits for him, with a baby!!!There sort of a happy ending. Thank you very much.

I agree. I thought the same. Really, wtf? I’m pissed with the ending. I though last week’s episodes (13 and 14) were sorta weak, but this ending stinks. Urgh, I hate it when kdramas falter at the end like this. The open-ending wasn’t clever either, though the series was well shot and acted from beginning to end. Hopefully, My Ajusshi won’t disappoint in the end.

At last, KL’s murder has been “de-mistified” and what is the moral of this excellent story?
Marry a pretty and capable but “toxic” woman, like HR, at your own peril. The fall and demise of two fine men, MW and TW, underscores this wisdom.
I kind of agree. I was once again appalled in ep 15 at how completely inconsiderate (putting it mildly) HR was when TW gave her back the brooch telling her KL gave it to him in the bar…and you don’t EXPLAIN to your husband???? Her complete lack of aware concern caused TW so much suffering and it ended in KL’s accidental death and eventually TW’s too (sounds like he commits suicide at the end of 16). HR, you’re a top anchorwoman and great fun to watch but a miserable partner…and deadly for men.
Yeah I really don’t agree with the ‘moral of the story’ especially for all the women like myself out there who were shipping Go Hye Ran for being so tough and badass. There aren’t many role models like her out there and now the moral of the story is that such bad-assery comes at great cost so its not worth it?
Yeah, why make the HR character such a flop in so many important ways…I’ve met many powerful women (maybe not at the HR level) but who also are great communicators about feelings, are empathetic, verbally responsible in difficult situations. The writer “murdered” both HR and TW characters, at least for me. Sends a negative message about women and power and their effect “on their men.”

Captain V, can’t agree no more with your last statement. I feel pity the most for HR…she’s been hurt way too much ever since her childhood. From MW, to KL and now TW, she could’ve had spared TW atleast, and gave TW and HR atleast a taste of happiness, but no.

I think these dramas have to communicate and accentuate public morality – that crime doesn’t pay. If TW and HR are allowed to live in bliss after TW had committed murder, HR had brief fling with KL, n MW was punished for KL’s murder then viewers might believe that you can get away with murder.
As a viewer, this was one of the best Kdramas I watched this year, THANKS!

TW commits suicide because he killed KL and let someone take the fall and he did not confess to the Police. And MW has already suffered enough being in jailed all those years granted he did some bad stuff when he was released. Therefore TW is NOT a good husband to his HR. Meanwhile I think HR prefers TW to pay for his crime because that is always her principle. My feelings now a bit mixed up. I need time😢😢😢

I hope for Misty 2, they need to make this right! But yes, open ending, very important keyword: OPEN – maybe it’s up to out interpretation even though it’s not good right now.
But sometimes a Season 2 of any great show is never as good plus it takes away A little bit of the impact of the Original show. Misty definitely has an impact on me that’s for sure there is a big HOLE in my heart. I wish for Season 2 because it’s hard to let go of HR and TW😢😢😢

@*V that ending was almost (not quite as pointless), almost too reminiscent of Hwayugi. Wow, what are the chances of two opening and head scratching finales almost back to back?
I can almost accept the grounds for Misty’s finale. Given HR and TW’s characters, not sure either can live with the stress and tension of the lies. I think HR’s tears are because she’s realising that happiness is out of her grasp because whichever way, she loses the man she was in like with and married. In any case, all her ambition was focused on career, rather than family so, perhaps the ending makes sense that way.
You took the words right out of my mouth! It so reminded me of the Hwayugi ending.
I feel like we didn’t need that Epilogue. Just end it with the note the MW left and maybe HR and TW sprinkling MW’s ashes on their spot by the river. Or even just visiting MW at the cemetery or something like that.
Great commentsJY299. The endings follows the character paths of HR TW and MW. I don’t quite know how else to put it. Their actions at the end are who they are and what values and principles they hold for themselves.
Agreeing with @Tobi, I think you might have channeled the writer when you talked about the actions, values and principles. Maybe in the end, all we can do as readers is try to understand because hey, what would be worst is they play this off as a dream sequence. I need to protect my remote control 😂
If it was me, I would write the case of KL’s death as: They got into a fight, the TW left in his car. KL angrily chased him and in bad weather, he caused himself an accident without TW knew about it.
It’s already bad for TW that he didn’t clear his wife’s name from the beginning, no need to make him a murderer, dear writer!
I am thinking technically TW did not intend to kill KL but the sad part is he did not call 911. KL could have survived had he been treated ASAP I don’t know.

So the message I’m getting is a successful, somewhat abrasive and driven woman doesn’t deserve happiness? Which sucks because what I was loving about the show up until the ending – was you could be all that and still learn to be vulnerable w/o it crushing your soul…
Need to ask, as I’ve tried to find out. Was the writer a man or a woman? Going into the finale I thought a woman, but now, not so sure.

I know people might not agree but this is the only way it could have ended. It’s actually very sad and I cried a lot and isn’t that what makes a great drama. I think the point that the writer wants to make is that everyone of us is flawed and given the right circumstances can end up like TW. It is a crime of passion; jealousy, love and hate all meshed into one. Like HR said to EJ her only regret that night was she did not kill KL herself. TW could have done the right thing by owning up to the fact that he accidentally killed KL and take his medicine like MW did instead of putting his wife through hell. He has a weak character and he knows it.
But I loved how MW made EJ do some self-reflecting from the past!
TW and MW: So many regrets. They could have made better choices. However, they chose otherwise which cause pain to the woman they love.
HR: So sad. Who would want to fight for a better world, better position for women in career after this? Loosing happiness, loosing the men in her live, and on the first night of her new show, the guest dies in a car crash. What a shame the write put her through.
KJ: Bad detective, using prejudice to resolve the case which leads to accusing wrong person without any apology.
Such a disappointment after rooting so hard for the show.
I agree! I’m totally with you on this. Especially the detective, I don’t get how they could be talking about honorary retirement when he was so prejudiced the whole time. Did he just lose his “detective skills” during one of his last cases?
While the ending is less than ideal, the whole run was fun and doubly so because of the live recap. Thank you Team Bah Doo, especially *V!
The moral of this story are: if you are a strong and fearless woman, then you don’t deserve happiness. If you are a man who are So in love with a strong and fearless woman then nothing good will ever come out of it. You will end up ruin your life. This show was a great show until the final. Then it all messed up just like many other shows this year. I’ve had my hopes up that Korean drama finally had a strong female character show but at the end the writers still couldn’t escape the higher male dominant in Asian culture. So sad….
Some final thots. This drama ended in great tragedy. These tragic events can be traced to several issues.
First, miscommunication. EJ callously (perhaps, even maliciously) suggested that the teenaged HR might have been sexually violated by the loanshark jeweller and it led MW impulsively stab him. Then, KL forcefully seduced HR at the hotel and in parked car. TW saw the false evidence (the photos, video clip from car, n broach). He also saw KL withHR.
Second, KL intentionally and maliciously provoked TW and misrepresented his relations with HR. EJ did likewise with the video clip.
Thirdly, HR was at fault by commission or omission by “using” MW and TW. It seems she never told either she loved them. Poor TW, married to such a wife! HR was also preoccupied with advancing her career and dream of pursuing the truth when GS eventually corrected her that people wanted news they could believe in not truths.
Lastly, TW and MW loved well but it was a pity the loved the wrong person well.
A sad n tragic tale! Sigh.
I’m nominating HR and TW for the Worst-Communicating Couple in Kdramaland!
Given their obvious intelligence and professional-yet communications skills, I feel the writer went too far. I can never get over HR not communicating with TW to clear things up immediately when he gave her the brooch KL had given him in the bar. Didn’t she care about TW’s feelings?? Wouldn’t anyone be out of their minds if someone like KL gives them their wife’s brooch? And HR’s “I love you let’s end it” was handled like an ingenue, which didn’t ring true to me. Sure, she’d have big intimacy issues, etc. but laying it on her mother being used by men and remaining poor was over the top for me given HR was nearing 40, had made loads of money herself and married someone who was loaded and wouldn’t leave no matter what she did.
Then there’s TW: you accidentally kill someone and the brooch you had implicates your wife (though unintended) and you don’t immediately explain everything? Nah, not good enough. The writer made them “too far gone” to ever work things out. I’d have preferred the reveal about TW in ep 15 and some attempts between the couple to come to grips together about the situation after MW turned himself in.
I think once it is revealed TW was indeed the one that was responsible for KL death all hopes of any happy ending is gone.😢😢I will not be watching the last two episodes. The great live recaps we are so lucky to have told me everything that happened. I will watch the last two Episodes much much later. Right now I am just too sad.
And out of all possible sad endings we got the SADDEST ending😢😢😢. How can any any ending be more tragic????
This is such a lousy ending. Illogical. The writer try to be too “Misty” for the sake of it and it the end the ending is sh..!! Will not watch the writer’s show anymore. What so unexpected ending … it is rubbish. Ending for the sake of being unexpected! Terrible. Wasted my time. So dissatisfactory.

For me I can just watch Ji Jin Hee in He Who get Married. It was an old soap but he was so cute and funny. He will heal this poor fan.

Ji Jin Hee is my fav Korean actor; so handsome and the voice. Two of my favorite drama of his is I Have A Lover and One Warm Word. His character in both drama is flawed; he cheats on his wives, but he somehow redeems himself. What I like about this actor is that he is not afraid to take on challenging roles; whether good or bad. He gets better with age.

Yup, I was also heart sick and very disappointed. Seems like their was a disconnect between the last two episode and the first 14. They made TW out to be creepy; like it was a totally different person. His demeanor seem to have changed; don’t know if anyone notice that. It’s like one of those mystery/who dunnit movie where the husband is about to kill the wife after she found out what he did, really weird. It just felt out of context with the whole drama.
Yes! They did make him out to be creepy. I remember one specific moment where TW’s face changed when he asked someone if he thought he would win and the detective saw the face change (maybe it was EJ?). I think I may have written that TW looked evil in that moment, too. At that moment I thought, uh oh, are they really going to make him the killer?
Final thoughts after 16 w/subs. Feel like the writer was trying to sound profound and “make messages” but didn’t pull it off. IMO came off somewhat nihilistic and not deep.
Examples: “There is nothing but falsehood.” EJ “People just live day to day thinking it’s the right thing to do.” Dir. Jang “Nobody’s fault just living our lives.” MW. Forget who delivered these: “So, you need to live for the day that was given to you.” “Our lives continue on we don’t know what the end brings us, what lies ahead.” “Perhaps we try to catch things that are impossible to catch. Is that why we live life like we’re crazy?” Not exactly Hallmark cards, but meh.
For me, last line of the show was lame: “So are you happy?”
I wonder if TW would have suicided if Detective hadn’t stopped him just before with “I can’t stand to see a criminal living well,” after telling TW that MW will get life at least.
Though I didn’t care for how the writer steered Misty in last eps, just loved most of Misty!
In He Who Can’t Get Married— Ji Jin Hee is someone you need a while to learn to because he is an odd ball though a brilliant one. In real live I have friends like that, ha ha. I have yet to watch all of his dramas but I keep rewatching this one because he is so lovable and cute AND Funny. I also love I have a Lover but it is not funny😢.
Maybe I can pretend TW packed his bag and just left for good then I can deal with Misty which until the ending was such great entertainment. If this is the first for the Writer, it ismost important she left a Mark with Misty, to really make the ending a real BANG and she did.
I thought the ending was great. Initially, I was expecting Tae Wook to admit his mistake to the police, but deep inside I wish he will just let it go and move on, so he could have a happy ending with Hye Ran. But at the same time, I feel bad for Myung Woo.
Though regarding the cause of death of Kevin Lee, I wonder why Kevin Lee easily died, it was like Tae Wook just punched or pushed him hard. It was not like he meant to kill him. Couldn’t it be considered as an accident? I was thinking there might be a twist that someone has poisoned him before hand, lol. Anyway, it is a sad story…Idk how they will live their lives lol if that was reality.
The writer make us draw our own conclusions. I still can not believe with last story in Misty’s Drama, so sad ending. However, I say thank you for production team this drama because this drama give us great drama’s show, both all the theories and clues to understands each character in the drama. My opinion about TW and HR in ending story, they faced psychology problems (actually they know their fault but it is be a secret forever and a burden for them that is never revealed)
And once MW turned himself in- if he had killed the Manager then of course he could have killed KL too. So there, nail to the coffin for any happy ending. TW cannot live with his guilt and HR pain that MW going to prison for KL death.
I wish I knew what the lead actors really think of the endings. That would be most interesting.

Give it two episodes to see if you like it. I didn’t like the first episode (I didn’t hate it either) but I got hooked in the second episode.
I think this drama should be named Hypocrisy – for the whole drama was really about that.
Director Jang, who was always shouting – News are FACTS – has a little box where he hides the real truths. He seems to be always supporting Hye Ran, but at the end of the day, she was just someone that he could continue to utilize to bring in the ratings, even if that means pinning the guilt on an innocent man. With MW taking the fall as an HR-obsessed-murderer and elevating her to an innocent victim of this psycho- she’s now primed to be the next-JBC-Oprah for she now has the viewers’ sympathy.
Eun Joo, who would like everyone to think that she is poor sad widow of a murdered man, was quite happy to bathe in the attention of the reporters, even making detailed preparations for what she would wear to court. She wasn’t so much sad to have lost her lustful husband, but she just wasn’t happy that HR had it all. She finally found peace, when she saw how much HR was suffering.
Hye Ran who was always insisting on the importance of exposing the wrong-doing of others, conveniently allowed Myung Woo to take the fall for Tae Wook – although MW had made it a little easier for them to accept this, stating that it’s TW’s ‘punishment’ (??). She seemed all prepared to face the consequences with TW when he was heading towards the police station to confess, but all that resolved faded away when Director Jang said she will be the JBC Oprah. I was half expecting her to say – stuff that- my husband is the killer not MW – but she didn’t. To think that just before all that, she was sitting in the newsroom with her soju, expressing great regrets for only focusing on her career which lead to her losing everything. It’s no wonder the last scene was tears streaking down her face when someone asked if she was happy – because she was really back to where she started from….TW was still someone whom she could leverage on – that’s why he was invited as the guest in her very popular talk-show.
Tae Wook is really the biggest hypocrite of all. He was supposed to have left the Prosecutor’s office because he found them too corrupted, but he was quite happy for Prosecutor Byun to be ridiculed for charging an innocent person as a murderer, when he himself was the real murderer. He wanted to win his wife back so much that he would let her go through the torment and shame for being accused a murderer, so that he could play the role of the perfect husband for always standing by her regardless, believing her when no-one else would, and seemingly running around to find help for her when she was detained for those 48 agonising hours. He had her (and all of us) fooled – weren’t we all thinking what a perfect husband he was? In the end, he still proclaim to love her – would you call that love? He, with those sad puppy eyes that we all came to adore so much, turned out be the biggest hypocrite of all.
But was it surprising that TW turned out to be the man that he is – given that he was raised by ‘those’ parents – who were not contented that their daughter-in-law so hard to be where she was, but would only deemed it deserving of her to have breakfast with them when she was hailed as a national heroine – victimised by the corrupted ministers and lawmakers?
Even the extremely loyal lackey of TW, who seemed to be cheering for HR, actually knew all along that TW was the real murderer.
Ironically, the incompetent detective, whom we all came to dislike so much, turned out to be the only decent person in the whole drama. He was relentless looking for the truth, despite being scolded and ridiculed. He showed genuine righteous anger at MW, when he asked him, why was he prepared to throw his life away again?! At the end, he still wouldn’t give up on finding the truth, and he wanted to see TW’s reaction on hearing that MW could actually face life imprisonment.
I guess at the end, it’s no wonder that TW decided to end it all, for despite all they had gone through, HR is still HR … bathing in the limelight of the camera…
It’s not an ending that we all like. BUT it is the ending that made this drama an incredibly great drama that we can ponder on for a long time. IT could have been a typical good guy vs bad guy / husband and wife live happily ever after korean drama, but i am glad it wasn’t, although all our hearts are well and truly broken.

Very well said I enjoyed reading your disecting the characters. We have quite a miserable bunch here. Smart powerful ambitious but the the same time making very questionable decisions that’s for sure. Such rich characters in this show and the actors basically all of them with HR and TW at the top, did an excellent job. Yes I HATE the ending but some viewers think it is brilliant and I respect their point of view. I may rewatch the show again and this time will be more fun because I knew what happened but I may skip the last 15 minutes😢😢

The drama until the end, has lived up to its title. Misty is definitely one to marathon, but now without feelings attached to it. Both, KNJ and JJH deserves an awards for their stellar performance in this drama. 🙌🏼💯✨ I can’t imagine other actresses playing the role of GHR, Misty was destined for KNJ. 💓

I love the word you use haha- excorcising!!! I have somehow survived a lot of great shows with tragic endings. I will be sad for a while but then I need to move on. I look forward to rewatching Misty because HR and TW way too cute and don’t forget KL and all the clothes shoes and handbags!!! Love them.
