Kim Yoo-jung (김유정) is gearing up for another hit with her new drama Clean With Passion for Now set to premiere in later November. I expect the couples photo shoot to turn up a bit closer to that date (if they do one) but for now we have this fresh and youthful spread chock full of advertisements.
I’m excited for Clean With Passion For Now because this is Kim Yoo-jung’s spring board into adult roles. Her counterpart Kim So-hyun stepped into an adult role this year with Radio Romance and though I think she did fine, the role was just not for her. Her character and her costar were too old for her (she played a 27 year old) and all the kisses looked like a father kissing his daughter as she headed off to school. But I think she will rebound with her next role Love Alarm that puts her right back in High School.
I am happy that Kim Yoo-jung is signed onto a more youthful show even though her costar is 31 in real life. In an ideal situation, it would be nice if these teenage child stars just signed onto college dramas next. I would have lobbied hard to be in My ID is Gangnam Beauty or the like. But maybe they are so set on being looked at as an adult that they just want to blow that child image out of the water. Whatever the case, I wish her tons of luck!
For the curious, she is advertising Paul Smith glasses, a suit by MagLogan with a purse by Lovcat, a mini dress by Maje & feather jacket by Hume. In another photo she is wearing a purple top Juicy Judy, skirt by Romanchic and bucket bag by Lovcat (who incidentally is sponsoring The Beauty Inside). And lastly, she is wearing a pink jacket by Hume and flowing floral dress by JJ Jigott (though they don’t really let us see that dress now do they).

Yoo-jung looks so gorgeous! I especially love the photo with the pink parka. Her expression is mesmerizing.
I honestly wish dramas with such huge age gaps weren’t the norm for transitioning former child actresses like the Kim girls. I was surprised when the CWPFN casting gods went with Yoon Kyun-sang as the replacement to the much younger Ahn Hyo-seop (who would’ve been an age-appropriate pairing for Yoo-jung). But they looked good together during that red carpet so my concerns about chemistry have been lessened. Hopefully that translates into the drama.

I hope it translates, too. But I can envision a lot of card board stiff kisses in this drama. Hopefully they can build the romantic tension in other ways. Mister Sunshine was able to build a bit of romance with just hand holding (too bad they never did anything with it though!).
I’m not sure I’ll feel entirely comfortable with anything more than chaste kissing given the age gap, but I’ll be ok with something like the kisses in Moonlight Drawn by Clouds. The webtoon has lots of skinship, which was cute when I was imagining Ahn Hyo-seop in the role. Idk. It’s cable and Yoo-jung is legally an adult now so we’ll probably see those scenes in the drama.

Same, but there are a lot of things they can do to keep the romantic cute tension going. Moonlight Drawn By Clouds is a great example of what can work!
It’s my understanding that she would not have been physically ready yet when Gagnam Beauty started as she had been ill. I’m so glad she’s healthy now!

Right, still ill at that point for that drama. Her illness was a big shock to me when it was announced so I am so happy that she is back and ready to work again. Hopefully there will be other college dramas for her and the other college aged child actors to sink their acting chops into.
