It’s no secret that I’m currently obsessed with It’s Okay To Not Be Okay. The acting, the plot, the cinematography— everything is perfect. (V- samsies)
There’s a particular scene in episode two that I thought was filmed really well. It’s the scene where Moon Sang-tae is on his way to get his copy of Zombie Kid signed by Go Moon-young. He’s skipping down the street with such jubilance, it’s a miracle one of his balloons don’t lift him in the air. The sky is blue, the cartoon bird are singing, and the stick figures on the street signs know his name. This resulted in an amazing production that unlocked my inner child and love for musicals at the same time.

A big part of what made that scene special was the location. It’s the Triple Street Shopping Mall located in Incheon’s Songdo International Business District, and it boasts various attractions. Aside from the amazing places to shop, it has an entertainment plaza, sports field, and an observatory overlooking the Songdo skyline. It sounds like a place where you can have some family fun or a chic date night.
The mall opened in the spring of 2017, delighting both locals and tourists ever since. It’s been featured in a ton of dramas like The King Eternal Monarch, Itaewon Class, and Something in the Rain.
Songdo is known for being South Korea’s “smartest city”, meaning it was designed to be convenient and eco-friendly. The city is clean with tons of parks, and is walkable so you can cut down on fuel emissions while sight-seeing.
Now if that doesn’t sound utopian, I don’t know what would.
