It looks like KBS is getting back into the Friday/Saturday drama landscape with Wings Fly, Up starring Stephanie Lee and Jun (from U-KISS). Their last Friday/Saturday drama was Go Back Couple, way back in 2017 (wow, has it already been two years since Go Back Couple?).
Wings Fly, Up is about a Taekwondo hopeful whose career takes a turn for the worst, which actually sounds a bit Fight for My Way-ish which was also on KBS. I wonder if they are trying to tap into their former glory with that show? KBS definitely needs a hit. Or, at least, I don’t think they have had a hit show in awhile.
Both Stephanie Lee and Jun are fresh faces that will lead this drama series. I really enjoyed Stephanie Lee as the smart alec sister who always seemed to be angry and didn’t take any mess, in The Last Empress. I don’t know anything about Jun, but I always welcome new talent in my TV shows as it allows me to sink into their role a bit more.
Wings Fly, Up is tentatively scheduled for March of 2020 and will air on KBS on Friday’s and Saturday’s.
