It’s Okay to Not be Okay Director is back with Romance is a Bonus Book writer for new Kdrama City Couples Way of Love starring Ji Chang Wook and Kim Ji Won

Look at these cuties! The first script reading for Kakao TV’s City Couples Way of Love: My Lovely Camera Thief (literal title so it could possibly change) starring Kim Ji-won and Ji Chang-wook has finished, and filming has already started with some location shoots in Jeju Island (which I can get behind because it is not even winter yet I am already longing for a seaside getaway).

In City Couple’s Way of Love, Ji Chang-wook plays a passionate and honest architect who has not forgotten the woman that stole his heart years ago and disappeared. To bide his time, and most likely think about this lost love, he likes walking small streets in Seoul and collecting little things he finds.

Kim Ji-won plays a freelance marketer who is a bit uptight. One day she decides to take a trip on a whim and meets Ji Chang-wook in a “strange place” though who knows what that means. She decides to introduce herself as a completely different person than she is, which is a person with a carefree personality and ties it all up with telling him a different name as well. Of course, she ends up falling for him.

Ooh, boy. I am liking this set up already because who doesn’t fantasize about pretending like they are someone they aren’t while on vacation? Methinks the location they go to is Jeju Island though we’ll have to wait for the first teaser to find out.

This drama is written by Jung Hyun-Jung who also wrote Romance is a Bonus Book, and is directed by powerhouse visual artist Park Shin-woo who directed It’s Okay to Not be Okay, Encounter, and Jealousy Incarnate. I’m excited with this because the former two dramas are my latest faves in drama land. They were just so gorgeous and had a lovely script to go with them.

I already like these two actors and know they can carry a lot on their shoulders. Now we throw in mistaken identities and fake personalities with lots of comedy sure to come from it? Plus a capable writing and directing duo? Sign me up.

City Couple’s Way of Love: My Lovely Camera Thief will stream on Kakao TV in December 2020.

I loved It’s Okay To Not Be Okay and Romance Is a Bonus Book, so this drama has my name written all over it!
