MERGER MEETING
Cut to a very official board meeting for JangGa to Merge with IC. it is agreed upon unanimously. SRY stands up to give a speech.
He is wearing the watch his father had.
SRY – Hello, I am Park Saeroyi, the CEO of IC. JangGa is the restaurant company that represents Korea. We have signature menus for JangGa. Spicy pork and sauce. When Korea was in trouble, this low price and good taste comforted the citizens. With everything that has happened recently, the company image is ruined. But that is only one person’s fault. JangGa is still a good company. back then, JangGa followed money and profit. But the most important thing in business are people and trust. I will treasure people more than money and trust over benefit. With you, together, I will make this successful again. thank you.
he bows to everyone and they all clap.
Saeroyi looks at Yi-seo and Hojoon in the crowd and smiles.
Afterwards, he sees Geun-soo.
They go outside to talk.
SRY – i heard that you quit
GS – the lost soldier should go away.
SRY – Today’s event should be uncomfortable for you, but thank you for giving me your vote. Why did you do that?
GS – My vote does not matter. I just wanted to see you realize your goal.
SRY – There is no disadvantage to you because of your father. With you ability you will~.
GS – Hyun-yi noona, it was me, I released the report about her.
SRY – *thinks about it*
GS – *stands* Not only that, I approached Seung-kwon hyung and found out what IC was up to. It wasn’t the clothes that fit me. Whatever I did, I wanted to win. But I knew that I would not have Yi-seo by winning. I knew that but I couldnt’ stop. I did not know how to stop.
SRY – *stands*
GS – All this ~.
SRY – *pats a hand on his shoulder* it is alright. You are a young boy. Come by to eat sometime.
he walks off.
GARAGE
SRY gets into his car that was valeted to him, Soo-ah calls him.
SRY – Hello?
SA – I heard about it, I wanted to congratulate you.
SRY – Hey, why did you blow the whistle?
SA – it was not about you.
SRY – Huh?
SA – When I borrowed my college tuition from your father, I told him that I would pay for it 3 times. Do you think tis was enough?
SRY – Yes, thank you.
SA – Now I will live my own life. Can you support me as a friend?
SRY – I will always support you.
SA – *smiles* Your revenge is done, can I ask you a favor?
SRY – What is that?
SA – Be happy.
SRY – Okay.
SA – *smiles and nods*
She hangs up the phone with a sigh and looks out over the countryside and then looks at Saeroyi’s fathers tomb. She smiles at the tomb and looks out over the countryside again.
DANBAM
Tony sits at a table with hyun-yi thinking about something. It looks like he was dumped possibly by someone. Hyun-yi asks if he would like to go to the movies with her at least? Seung-kwon comes in and asks why Tony looks like this? Hyun-yi says that he has been dumped.
SK says that is nothing. Tony tells him that he does not understand him, you do not have a girlfriend. SK gives him a tcket somewhere and says to take it.
Then a couple foreigners come in so Tony goes up to them and speaks in perfect English to them. SK and Hyun-yi are surprised that he knows English now.
Then Geun-soo comes in. Everyone is surprised to see him. He goes to the rooftop and apologizes to Hyun-yi an SK. She punches him in the balls? SK tells him that betrayal is repaid by betrayal. Then he asks if she hit him rally hard? She asks, did I?
So SK stands him back up and dusts him off. They forgive him and tells him that he had a difficult time so why did he do things that did not fit him? He apologizes again. Hyun-yi tells him that Yi-seo is coming, see her and then leave.
He tells them that he will see her later. Becuase he is still a young boy. He smiles.
While walking away, he sees Yi-seo on the bridge. She walks up to him and asks why he is here? He says that he is going to America and wanted to apologize to SK and Hyun-yi before going there. She asks if that made him feel better? But one apology will not take care of everything. Goodbye, be healthy.
She starts to walk away. He calls her name.
GS – Can we shake hands?
YS – Is the end of your one sided love like that?
GS – I don’t deserve it.
She hugs him, he is startled.
YS – you deserve this. It does not matter right or wrong. You did your best with your heart. I can not accept it but it came to me. I am sorry about that. Sorry.
He tears up. She tells him goodbye.
She walks off and he stays on the bridge. He watches her walking down the steps and tries not to cry.
ANOTHER DAY
they go to another hot eating place. Yi-seo and Hyun-yi are the two that are scouting it. But Soo-ah comes outside and tells them that they do not need to spy on her, they can just ask her.
SA – Just ask me, the boss is pretty.
HY – Is this eunnie store?
SA – yes, Seokchan oppa invested money in it. You should spy on it. Come in, I will buy you a drink.
YS – Do you know that the CEO and I date?
SA – *smiles* I am relieved if it was you, take good care of Saeroyi.
SA – What the f? Lets go, eunnie.
HY – *smiles* we will be back.
They head off.
SA – Really take good care of Saeroyi.
She goes back inside, her friend Seokchan oppa, the bar owner, comes to her and says that they have a chef interview. She goes to the table to interview him.
And There is Park Bo-gum with a brand new haircut. he bows to her and looks glorious. She thinks, daebak. The boar owner says that they need to pick him. They have to.
PBG starts to cook the food, they both stare at him and wonder how he is so good looking. But SA says that he should be good at cooking, then she will hire him.
She tastes his food. PBG looks at her with anxious anticipation. The friend whispers to just say that it is delicious, we have to hire him. PBG asks her, does it taste okay? She asks if he can start work from tomorrow?
he hesitates but says, yes boss. The friend says that he will come to work from tomorrow also. Your cook is so good. PBG smiles.
THEATER
SK call Hyun-yi to come with him to the theater. She asks why he called her, she is busy. He mentions that he has a free ticket, I do not want to watch it alone. She asks if he has that much time.
He asks if they should sell it, but she tells him that they can watch the movie so they start to walk of to run the movie together like buddies.
At the company, Yi-seo puts an accessory on her phone that says Yi-seo loves Saeroyi. Saeroyi asks her what she is doing?
She tells him that today is a nice day to walk, do you want to go on a date? He says he is not busy and stands up to walk with her.
They walk around Itaewon.
YS – I have not been to Itaewon with you in awhile.
SRY – We have been busy.
YS – CEO, come this way it is pretty.
They take photos in front of a wall with wings on it then keep walking.
YS – You told me that you love me.
SRY – Yes, I told you.
YS – Then why don’t you hold me hand?
SRY – Well, it is a little embarrassing.
YS – Me too, a little bit.
They keep walking and smiling. She holds his hand and they both stop. He holds her other hand, so they both hold hans and look at each other.
YS – I will try hard. You and me, we are both different. But we have one thing in common.
SRY – One thing in common?
YS – Yes, we don’t know the warmth of people. When I heard about your past, All the pain you had. I wanted to embrace everything. I wanted to make you not suffer or be lonely. Your hurting heart, I wanted to make it sweet. When I think about you. My day to day life is filled with you. Thank you. I love you. I will make you happy.
She gets on her tippy toes and kisses him.
VO – I wanted to be happy. Not losing myself. I wanted to realize everything I wanted to realize. There were difficult days. Sometimes I was insecure and afraid. How did I survive.
While he talks, we see a flashback of everything he has been through.
VO – The busy days doing what we wanted to do with important people in my life. Being with them, together. Looking for happiness.
He looks at Yi-seo lovingly.
SRY – I love you Yi-seo.
He softly kisses her and holds her head as he does.
SRY – Happiness. The warmth I share with you.
He stops kissing her and looks at her longingly. Then he gives her a big comforting hug.
SRY – I am already the happiest I have ever been.
ROOFTOP PARTY
the original team (sans Geun-soo or Soo-ah) all gathers together and has a party of the rooftop. they all laugh and drink and have a good time.
Saeroyi and Y-seo hold hands under the table and look at each other happily.
Appa – How does your alcohol taste?
Saeroyi smiles happily.
EPILOGUE
Saeoryi sits to work and we see his happy day to day life with Yi-seo.
SRY – Work like usual.
He works.
SRY – Date like usual.
Yi-seo cuddles with him by the river. He kisses her.
YS – What, all of a sudden?
SRY – Because I all of a sudden like you
YS – You like me just a little bit?
He smiles, rubs his hand on the back of her hair and kisses her on the lips deeply. then he stops and says, no. She cuddles up to him and they both laugh andn happily enjoy the river.
SRY – It’s a normal day

COMMENTS
Okay, the beginning of this episode was annoying with the gangsters and all that, but I enjoyed what came after. And after all that has been said and done, I think I can confidently say that Soo-ah is the winner.

Thank you for the recap!! Borrowing what DH said the last 3 episodes were “a disappointment”, tropes one after another, not to mention that the lead couple had zero chemistry for me. They kissed and for me it was cringey. But that’s just me. I guess the writer’s imagination stayed home with the quarantine in the last episodes. But kudos to them showing the blooming romance between SK and HY. The thing that saved this for me today was Park Bo Gum’s guest appearance. He literally lit up the screen. So yes, Soo-ah is the winner here hahaha. When will I see him in a drama again?
A drama with chef PBG and bossy Soo-Ah will be nice. Kwon Nara should be promoted to a Lead position in her next drama, she acts well. Thanks V for the recap! All characters are so cartoonish, no one dies despite all the hits to the head. lol.

He literally saved this drama for me tooooo, lol. After I saw him I was all like, maybe this drama isn’t so bad after all…maybe this final episode was actually great, LOL
I did enjoy the drama as a whole. But I feel that quality went down overall starting with the kidnapping. The first half spent on the fight/escape/rescue scenes should have been used better to expound on each character’s development as a proper farewell. SK didn’t need a full blown fight scene, him using more brain than brawn would have been more satisfying. If they needed fillers, I hoped they did a montage of how well each of them are doing in their respective work divisions then conclude with the personal closures.
And on a side note, considering how much IC has grown as a company, the now IC board directors do spend way too much time together. Hee.
I wish Yiseo told Saeroyi at the end about his first kiss when he was drunk and unconscious. It would have made him so embarrassed hahaha. But I love them both so much,great drama. I wish I can see him in another drama verryyyyyyyy soon. I will miss Itaewon class💜💜💜
So many problems in this drama, but at least they didn’t unnecessarily kill any of our favorite characters!
Am I the only one who laughed out loud when the air bags deployed in the Mercedes? And was that a product placement ad? ai-yi-yi I can’t tell you how many times in a k-drama I have wondered why the damned air bags didn’t go off. I was actually beginning to wonder if they don’t install them in cars in Korea!
Also, just how tall is Park Seo Jeon? When he knelt before Chairman Jang, it was like a giant redwood falling. That scene made his descent to his knees epic and certainly added to the drama of it.
I’ll never understand why people run away from pursuing cars by staying in the middle of the road…
I’ll give this one a B+ overall. Too bad the ending fell apart. The theme of friends being the support of your life was a good one and this ensemble was spot on portraying that. It was all the other stuff that just got in the way.
Plus, I agree, absolutely no chemistry between the leads. It would have been better to leave the love story out.

I was looking at the screen when Yi-seo was running away thinking, um…why aren’t you running thorugh the fields in the cover of night? Why are you on the road?
And good Lord yes it was like an epic descent for PSJ to kneel! I could have run to the fridge for a drink and back. 😂
I also wondered why the black car belonging to the gangsters could still be driven away from the accident but the Mercedes with the air bags had to be abandoned. I guess I’m being too picky for this story!

Nope, you are on point. We were both sitting over here thinking, why didn’t they just hop in that Mercedes and drive away? Or lock themselves in until the cops get there at least? I know that car isn’t completely totaled.

I had the same question! Once the airbags deployed, it can’t be driven anymore?
I was going bunkers over that scene sincerely. I was wondering why in the world they had to make a beautiful story annoying with the gangster storyline of kidnapping that they just added.
And yes, I totally would have preferred they left the love story part out, because it made me feel like PSRY was in a relationship with his sister (totally not because of the age), the chemistry was off. The Reply series always did great justice to the friends to lovers or dongseng to lovers scenario.
But the highlights for me was when Chairman Jang apologized but PSRY gave the unexpected switch. The overall best of course was when Amazing Park Bo Gum came to melt all the disappointing scenes from this story. Soo ah definitely was a winner!
Itaewon class was amazing though, it was a good show. And I totally love Toni’s voice! I’m going to run a research on that guy! Thanks for the updates💕💕

This drama was great! I loved SY & YS love story…I’m soooo glad the writers didn’t go the route of SY foolishly hanging on to SA. The two leads had chemistry in my eyes. The last three episodes was a hot mess, but long as my ship ended up together, I can overlook the horrible writing flaws in the end.

Appreciate the recap. For me the last few episodes were disappointing due to the strange and many tropes. In addition the lead couple did not have great chemistry, due to that lack of spark – unfortunately the kissing scene seemed forced and weird. It was hard for me to fathom a relationship between SRY and YS, SA seemed a better fit from a personality perspective. YS was so darn rude and had her eyes set on SRY such that she seemed obsessed. However they did get together so many fans wanted that, so be it. I did enjoy the kneeling scenes between SRY and the chairman. In the end the Park Bo Gum’s guest appearance was the most special and I loved it. Soo-ah is the winner here all around, she held her head high and maintained a classy behavior. Overall I enjoyed Itaewon Class.
