The tentatively titled The Game: Toward Midnight is a supernatural thriller about a man who can see death and the detective working on a mysterious murder case, starring 2PM’s Taecyeon and Lee Yeon-hee
Im Joo-hwan will portray Goo Do-kyung, a forensic medical examiner. He is an intense perfectionist who is famous at work for his good looks and charming smile. His reputation for delivering results in four weeks leads to the nickname “the four-week man” which is better than the “one minute man”, but then that would be a completely different show.
Taecyeon will play Kim Tae-pyung, the man who can see death. Though it isn’t 100% clear if he can see how people will die or if he is like Haley Joel Osmond and can see dead people or if he can literally see Death/The Grim Reaper coming. We just have to wait to get a bit more clarity on this or perhaps I just need to read up on this a bit more. Any links anyone?
Lee Yeon-hee will play Seo Joon-young the detective who is working on a mysterious case that I bet dollars to donuts has to do with Taecyeon in some way. Or perhaps they will fool me and the two will wind up together in another situation. It would be pretty funny if he was a shaman and she walked up to his booth with a friend who was asking for dating advice.
Lee Yeon Hee and Taecyeon have acted together previously and participated in plenty of awards shows, magazine shoots, and catalogues together, so I expect good things from the pairing.
The Game is expected to premiere in the first half of 2020 on MBC.
So looking forward to this. I’ve never seen Marriage Blues but I love Lee Yeon Hee. I kinda wished Im Joo Hwan was the lead though because it’s about time he gets the girl! But then again I’m not too broken up about Taecyeon getting the girl either. Still would have been better if this was a rom-com.
