I wasn’t sure what to think of KBS’s 아이돌 드라마 공작단 (Idol Drama Project/Idol Drama Royalty) when it was first announced. But I have to say that I luuuuuv these images. They depict a fun fresh vibe that will hopefully go along with the experimental variety setup the production is trying out. This show showcases seven popular girl group idols who will write and act out their own stories to illustrate the experiences they had when they debut.
I love a good behind the scenes story, so in my mind I see a show where we kind-of-sort-of learn how these starlets cut a lane for themselves in the cut throat idol industry with hilarious unknown machinations going on all around them. Kind of like Cyrano Dating Agency, but with Idol goals instead of dating goals. But that’s just in my mind; the actual show could be very different.
Idol Drama Project will first air May 29th via Naver TV and YouTube, and will also broadcast on KBS JOY channel and KBS World.
