Y’all, I am finally over my runny nose and cough and everything. I feel so much better. It couldn’t have happened at a better time because Hwayugi and the Hong sisters demand lots of typing. They talk so fast! I am really looking forward to finding out how the preview actually shakes out this episode. We know, they be trying to mislead us and stuff…don’t you fall for it!

HWAYUGI, A KOREAN ODYSSEY LIVE RECAP EPISODE 13

OPENING
We are at the end of the last scene where Z blows the flower petals into OGs eyes. Z tells him that she can control souls and the one that she wants is him. He will stay next to her forever and protect her.

SJ’S APARTMENT
Sj wants to know why she can’t call him? MW tells her that OG is doing something very very important. He tells her that OG didn’t go with Buja, he went with Asanyo. They woke her up when they touched the tree.

OG AND ASANYO
Z tells OG that a King betrayed her and put her in jail. So she will make her own groom who will always protect her. She grabs his wrist and wonders if she should take it off? She does! She takes it off.

Z – Now you are mine.
OG – Okay, I will give it to you, it’s yours.
Z – What is this?
OG – That is seven

The OG in the chair disappears into a chilgong doll. Z picks it up and thanks him for the present, but she wants him because he fits her well. She tells him that she is a super strong woman that is incomparable to Sam-jang. She was betrayed by a human and was trapped inside this coffin for 1000 years. She is here to fulfill her unfulfilled marriage and she has chosen him as her groom.

OG keeps listening to her, but he says that he doesn’t care what she says. She is saying that she will replace SJ and she is saying it with Buja’s face. That’s not right. But Asanyo says that she is helping Buja right now. However, OG just says that he will burn Buja there and Asanyo should sleep again.

But Z says that if something happens to her then SJ will be in danger. OG pauses, what? Asanyo says that if SJ ate the food she brought for her, she will be in danger, even one bite will put her in danger. She gives OG an antidote to the food. he leaves quickly

APARTMENT
SJ didn’t eat the food, but MW comes out eating all the food. He said that it tastes good and he was hungry so he ate some. OG asks if he felt something strange? MW says that it was a little salty…OG says that MW looks okay. But MW wants to know what this is, he already ate it, does he want it back? He starts spitting it out.

OG thinks that she tricked him and burns what was in his hand. Then we see Asanyo on the street with the doll, it also burns.

SJ APARTMENT
They are still talking about Asanyo. They think she wants to marry someone powerful because she is powerful. They think that they need to find someone that she can marry. Perhaps PK? he is a womanizer…But they think they can have a better person. But maybe they can ask SM.

Cut to them all at the mansion. SM takes SJ for some water and MW and OG have a secret conversation. They start to talk about how Asanyo is powerful and can take off the GGG. So OG and she would be good together. But that would mean that SJ would have a higher chance of getting killed. OG thinks that if someone dies then it should be him. he doesn’t like it, but if he thinks that SJ can die, then it would make her even sadder. MW says that it has nothing to do with me, Skyland arranged it all. OG disappears.

MW – It looks like OG is super mad now, should I call BR?

Cut to OG in BR’s office. OG breaks BR’s table and walks up to him. He pulls the death bell from his pocket and shows it to BR. BR tells him that he is his teacher. But OG just wants to know who is killing and who is dying. BR says that he doesn’t know, the Skyworld decided. OG says that he knows, why did he give this to him! OG breaks the black bell (or makes it disappear?). He tells BR that he will protect SJ forever, so she won’t die. If god world messes with me, then they will make a big mistake. he leaves and BR asks the sky world if they really made a big mistake. Thunder reigns down. BR says that it isn’t his fault, they decided everything!

MW AND SM
They are talking about OG. OG has the shaman, so there is a good chance that he will survive. MW says that he doesn’t know what the sky world wants because he is a monster just trying to be a god. SM tells him that he has met her 9th reborn self, so he is in a hurry.

SJ AND OG
SJ wants to know why OG is at her place and he says that he came here to protect her. But SJ is upset at OG because he spent time with Asanyo and MW filled her head with naughty thoughts about it. OG tries to tell her that nothing happened but SJ is just enraged and tries to put on a lid on a top that doesn’t match.

OG says that the lid is important! You put on a lid that doesn’t match, the other lid matches. But they are a matching container and matching lid. That is why you are upset right? SJ says that she is upset. They give each other a big hug. SJ says that she is sorry that she woke up something very bad. She shouldn’t blame OG. But OG says that it is okay. SJ is afraid that she will hurt OG like before, but OG just tells her that everything will be fine.

CANDIDATE
he is putting two and two together with what might be inside that coffin. Perhaps the thing trapped inside is dangerous but powerful. he thinks that is interesting.

ASANYO
A couple guys bump into her on the street on accident. They tell her that she is pretty, do they want to drink with her? She says okay and we cut to her getting out of a bloody car. But she thinks that she can’t control her blood power by doing these things. She needs SJ’s body. She wonders, should she use MW? She knows his weakness.

MA WANG
Meanwhile, MW is sitting sadly in his secret office and looking at the painting of his lover.

SJ AND OG
OG fills her in on what is going on in her apartment. SJ’s blood is very powerful and Asanyo wants it. They need to get her to leave quickly so they can have Buja back as well. But SJ thinks back to what MW said, he wants to listen to Asanyo, he doesn’t want OG to marry Asanyo, this is just a formality. We can save Buja too…..Bujaaaaayaaaa……our poooooorrrrrr, Buuuuujaaaaaa, you have to come back to liiiife agaaaainnn……my poiiiint.

Back in the apartment, SJ says that OG can get married, it will be a fake marriage anyway. If she is dangerous, then they can just do it and send her away. Og tells her that they had 2 fake marriages, so the third time should be true. SJ wants to know if they can do that? Can they get married? OG says that if they are married then he can’t take the GGG off. he puts out his hand to her. But SJ is still stunned with what OG said. She said that she will not fall for it like when she was little. OG tells her that she is smarter now.

Then OG gets up and says that he has a headache and he will sleep there tonight. SJ tells him not to seduce him tonight. SJ says that she doesn’t want to send him away, she is trying to protect him! now just leave! She storms off. OG is left wondering if he was protecting him? No, he doesn’t like to be protected.

NACHAL
Nachal’s kid was kidnapped and died because she was at a rainy bus stop and Nachal couldn’t pick her up. That is why Nachal is always at that bus stop. MW is watching her and then Asanyo comes up to her and gives her her bag.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

MW AND ASANYO AT THE MANSION
MW wants to know why she approached Nachal. Asanyo pulls this knife from her bag and says that Nachal had this in her bag and it looks dangerous. MW wants to know what SM didn’t tell her. SM tells us that Nachal stabbed the girl of the daughter of the killer. She got out of jail 3 years later.

MW thinks that Nachal is repeating her life over and over again. Her fate is to experience her child dying and then trying to kill the killer over and over again. But SM tells MW that he should not interfere. But Asanyo says that MW woke her up so she just wants to help her. MW tells SM to get out and he stays with Asanyo. SM leaves and MW says that he will listen to Asanyo. what can she do?

Asanyo says that she is a shaman, so she can do a lot of things.

OJ
he is walking somewhere with all of his people in his office. They go into a conference room, but OG is there. OJ tells all the people with him that he will pause their meeting for one hour. he goes in to greet OG and they start talking. OG wants OJ to investigate the shaman. Oj heard that this shaman is a kingmaker with a dragon. It bothers him. So she wasn’t Buja? OG tells him that Buja is Asanyo.

Cut to PK finding out that Buja is Asanyo. he tells her that she is not Buja. But he puts his hand on her head and says that Buja is in there right? Your listening, I will find your mother for you. he will fulfill his dongsang’s wish. PK leaves and Asanyo’s heart starts beating rapidly, she wonders what this is? Is Buja still inside there?

SJ’S OFFICE
Her secretary is talking to her about real estate, but SJ is preoccupied. She looks at her secs ring and she hears “will you marry me in her head”, and takes a deep breath in. The sec snaps her out of her revelry and asks her what she has been thinking about all day.

SJ – Lee Han Joo shi, you are married right?
Sec – Of course, I have two kids, of course, I am married. Hey, look at this.
SJ – You put your wedding ring on because you were in love.
Sec – yes…
SJ – Then, what if you didn’t love each other at the beginning, but right after you put on the wedding ring, you started to love each other so much, should that person still get married?
Sec – For us, we have this wedding ring because we loved each other
SJ – No not that, in the beginning, there was no love, but the bracelet.., no, the ring, after putting on the ring there was love
Sec – Hey, SJ, did you buy a ring for Mr. Sohn? Maybe you bought a super big diamond ring that will create love from nothing? That is not love. With someone like that, if they don’t have the ring then it all ends…

He goes off to his desk muttering about big diamond rings. Sj is left sad at her desk.

Sec – Hey CEO, can you hand me your stamps….hey CEO, your stamps….If love didn’t exist and it starts because of a material good, if the material good disappears then love disappears. You shouldn’t get married based on those things.
SJ – Is that so…

SJ stands up, but OG shows up again and covers SJ’s ears and shakes his head, “no”. He gives her another kiss. SJ is left looking after him and holds her face.

Sec – S-T-A-M-P, please.
SJ – Here…..hey Lee Han-joo, if I put 100 diamonds and give it to that person until that person dies, love shouldn’t disappear then right? Then, can I do that?
Sec – If you have that much ability and can supply that many big diamonds, then you can try it. If you give me some more salary then I would be happier.

Sec leaves.

SJ – Thank you!

OG shows up again and turns SJ’s head to him, he starts to kiss SJ over and over again in her office. Their music starts to play.

The sec tries to go back inside the door, but it is shut and he runs into it. he tells her to open it, but then he just thinks that it is hard to deal with women, it will give him some disease…

Z AND WINTER GOD
WG starts to talk to Buja like normal, but then he realized that something changed, this is not Buja. Asanyo says that he should recognize her, it has been 1000 years. It is a pity that he and his sibling still live in the same body. Asanyo says that she is the only that put her soul in his body and she can remove it if he wants. WG wants to know what she wants. Asanyo says that she is looking for the firepit that she used to use, can he help her?

MANSION
SM tells OG that MW is in a hurry. OG needs to help stop MW. Cut to MW meeting with BR in a huge room. BR tells him that MW should wait and practice his meditation. MW says he has waited long enough. But BR says that Nachal is the one who made the big crime. MW breaks BR’s table again and yells at him. He will do this legally. he storms out. BR yells at the sky that he can’t stop him because he is doing this legally. The sky thunders back and BR tells them to stop giving him bad-tempered guys!

Cut to MW watching Nachal.

VO – MW’s girlfriend was a goddess. So save her own kid, she used human kids souls.

We see Nachal in the sky world. She is about to be kicked out from the sky world. All the gods are around her. Then we see MW is very old warrior attire. He yells in pain.

BR tells SJ that Nachal has had 9 painful reincarnations. But she has to suffer for 199 times. This is more than 10,000 years of suffering. SJ wants to know about her kid, did they survive? But BR says that MW will die trying to save her and SJ should do something about it.

OG and MW
OG tries to talk MW out of it. He wants to know, does he trust Asanyo? But MW is desperate. Nachal sent a fan to MW to reunite again, but OG took the fan and left, that is why MW said that OG owes them. It is because of OG that MW and Nachal couldn’t reunite before. So OG owes them. But OG doesn’t want MW to do it. However, he thinks that this is the only choice. They both sit back reserved to their situations.

ASANYO AND WINTER GOD
They are both breaking into a building. A security guard finds them and Asanyo says that she has something to take from there, can she help them? Her eyes become super dark and the policeman opens the door for them.

This is a museum. WG and her walk to the firepit and WG goes to remove it for her. he freezes the glass and it shatters. Asanyo is smiling in the background while he does this. But WG isn’t doing this happily. he tells her that she used this firepit and put his sisters’ soul inside his body. What is she going to do with it now? This time Asanyo says that she is going to exchange souls, hers and SJ’s. To do that, she needs her blood and SJ’s blood. She can do that with MW’s help. In a camera video, we see WG taking the firepit from the museum.

MANSION
PK is there to salute MW. OG is in the background. MW tells PK that he is going somewhere, but he will be back. he tells PK that he did a good time collecting all the energy balls. They are all in his safe, so he can take them all if he wants. Sec Ma knows the password, so divide them equally and don’t fight.

OG calls the next person in to great MW, it’s Alice. She wants to know what is going on. MW yells that it is okay, she doesn’t have to great him! Alice leaves.

MW yells at OG, why is he treating him like some cow going to a slaughterhouse, he won’t die! But OG just tells him that he has something else to do for him and leaves. MW wonders what this guy is doing now!

Outside Alice talks to PK about Buja. She is not his little sibling anymore. But PK doesn’t want to hear it.

Cut to Z and SJ at her office. They talk about lotus smells. SJ says that she learned something to make Z angry. She learned this from Sohn Oh Gong. She tells Z to not matter in their relationship because they share everything. And she says that she knows that her blood is powerful, two things came back to life from it so she knows that she is powerful, don’t tell her that she isn’t.

CANDIDATE
The candidate looks at the museum footage from when the firepit disappeared. he immediately recognizes Buja, he thinks that she is not dead yet.

Cut to PK running to Buja. He tells her that he is finding her mom. But then Asanyo is about to touch his face tenderly. PK hugs her deeply and tells her that she is still Buja, don’t tell him that Buja doesn’t exist. he will see her Mom first. Buja looks off at PK longingly, she thinks that PK bothers her, she should destroy Buja’s body and this feeling.

Buja goes up to meet with MW and says that almost everything is ready. MW needs SJ’s blood as the last thing. She needs to put SJ’s blood in this fire pit. MW looks on shocked. But then we cut to MW in SJ’s office, he needs to ask her a favor. Can she see someone with him?

SJ goes to Nachal’s workplace. She recognizes her. She goes inside and she sees a Grimm Reaper behind her. MW is outside looking at all of this. Cut back to MW and SJ in his secret office. MW wants to prevent Nachal from dying. SJ says they can’t prevent a reaper. MW thinks that Nachal will die tonight, but he found a way to cut her reincarnation. He was found a way to do it, but he needs her blood.

All the gods and monsters start to talk about what Asanyo can do. OJ tells OG that Asanyo can exchange souls by mixing their blood together. Meanwhile, MW is telling Asanyo and SJ that Nachal has ### reincarnations. Asanyo says that she will gather all the stars energy. But before that, she needs SJ’s blood to do it. SJ breaks her skin and puts a few drops on the firepit. Asanyo smiles. She says that she will put her blood now….

COMMERCIAL BREAK

ASANYO puts her blood in, but OG catches it before it can go on the firepit. MW is wondering what is going on. OG tells him that this is super suspicious, why does she have to mix the blood, her blood isn’t powerful. OG tells Asanyo to leave since SJ’s blood is already in the firepit. She leaves. MW wonders what OG is doing. They yell at each other. Og says that he is not stopping them, SJ can do it. BR told him that SJ can do it, because she is a stronger shaman than Asanyo. MW tells him to call BR.

Meanwhile, Nachal is looking at the killer. She has the knife and the reaper is behind her. She is about to go out, but BR yells “WAIT.” He tells the Grimm reaper that he is BR, can he give them a few hours? The reaper disappears. BR tells Nachal that someone is trying to suffer 10,000 years of pain for her, can she just spare ten minutes for him?

Cut to MW in a building, Nachal is coming down the escalator and MW sees her. he is happy to see her, but she doesn’t know who he is. But she said that she has to see him and wonders who he is. MW tells her that she doesn’t know him well, but, he knows her very well.

MW – I wish your fate is nice and happy. I will put everything I have to it.

MW bows to her and she bows back. He walks up to her, but then he walks past her. BR is looking down at them from upstairs and Nachal turns and watches MW walk away.

BR – Because OG threatened me, I did it, did I do a good job?

Flashback of OG threatening him to delay the reaper a little bit. he yells at him that he is a god so he can do it! BR calls him a thug and we cut back to the scene with Nachal.

OG AND MW
OG tells MW, don’t die. If you die, I will be bored. MW tells OG to not cry and laughs a little. Then OG pats OG in the shoulder and goes to the back with SJ and BR.

BR – put your hands on the firepit.

She hesitates

BR – You are SJ, you are the most special human, you can do it.

SJ puts her hands on the firepit. The blood starts to move and al the stars start to gather together. We see Nachal sitting at her desk. MW starts to prepare himself.

Then the stars start to shoot at him and MW screams in pain. All the stars shoot into his body, he takes them all in and screams while it is happening. Epic music plays. Finally, MW falls to the ground and his and Nachal’s music starts to play. he rolls over in pain.

MW – I took all your 10,000 years of pain…I love you

Nachal – Why am I crying so much?

MW passes out on the ground.
