I am late to the game with show, but it is definitely one that we want to live recap come premiere day. There is just something fun and Disney about beautiful boys surrounded by a scrappy girl who could care less about them, to their continuous dismay. Of course, that might not end up being what this show is about, but that is a trope that I do love explored, when I’m in the mood for it, that is. Right now, I say bring on the fluff.
Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency is basically about a girl (Kang Seung-hyung) from a humble background who is the first love to the now King (Seo Ji-hoon) and the marriage agency that tries to get those two married by making Kang Seung-hyun into a noble woman. The flower agency consists of Kim Min-Jae, Byeon Woo-Seok, and Park Ji-Hoon.
Of course, they are going to have lots of trials and tribulations along the way of turning a tomboy into an elegant woman that the palace with accept, which is all part of the fun! Hopefully they stick close to the characters and leave palace dynamics out of the equation because most people, me included, usually get annoyed with that quickly. Though I loved it in The Crowned Clown!
One fun thing about this show is that it is based on a novel, so the structure should be sound, and it is reminiscent of other shows with vast casts of young actors that usher in the future stars of Korean dramas like My ID is Gangnam Beauty, Moonlight Drawn By Clouds, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, Sungkyunkwan Scandal, The Liar and His Lover, and of course the original Flower Boy show Boys Over Flowers (that sky rocketed its young stars into the stratosphere, goodness). So, this drama is worth checking out for the future star potential alone.
