Okay, you need to hop in your way way back machine to see when this Vagabond script reading happened because this drama has been shooting since the beginning of the year. Seriously. The drama actually finished shooting in May. I heard it was supposed to air in May also, but something must have delayed it (*ahem* Arthdal *cough*).
It is good news for us because now it will air in September! Which is wonderful because I kind of like my big mega shows dollied out throughout the year, not all at once. And, you better believe this is a bockbuster of a show with a rumored $22 million budget, eeps!
For those not in the know, Vagabond stars Lee Seung-gi and Suzy in an Espionage-shoot-em-up modern Jason Bourne/Mission Impossible type show where a man tries to find out why an airplane with over 200 souls on board crash landed. There were no survivors. It is all hush hush with the higher ups, so he has to turn all Ethan Hunt to find out the answers. The only thing is, he is an action hero wannabe, not an actual action hero.
I am not super intrigued by this premise, but I love the team behind it. This drama is the fourth collaboration between the writer-director team that also brought us History of a Salary Man, Giant, and Incarnation of Money. I for one luuuved History of a Salary Man with all my heart and soul. So I am looking forward to this drama for that alone.
Vagabond starts airing September 20th, 2019 with Netflix rumored behind it. It will air Fridays & Saturdays at 22:00 KST on SBS.

V, thanks for the photos. After the first (and only) preview video clip appeared on the internet a couple months ago, there has been not much news since. Subscribers on Viki were lobbying to get this show but I believe Netflix eventually got it. (I will cancel my Netflix if they don’t show it). Compared to Hotel del Luna, Arthdal has to have a much bigger budget, yet Hotel del Luna consistently has a higher ratings.

Netflix got it? Well that is good for a lot of people who already have Netflix and don’t have to spend any extra money. But I know it kind of screws with people depending on what countries they are in. On the bright side, at least Netflix gets those subs up fast!
