Fight for My Way Live Recap: Episode 15

The last two episodes are here! I’m a little worried with how the last episode ended and all, but this writer doesn’t keep the sad stuff going for long, so, hopefully we get some normal news from the hospital and we are back on track with the rematch! Comment and tell us what you love about Fight for My Way, this is the second to last chance you’ll have to do it! Also, you just might win.

We are back outside and DM can’t hear anything. He is yelling at AR and saying he can’t hear and AR is freaking out. They are basically replaying the ending of the last episode.

DM – why don’t you speak up. It’s too quiet, everything is quiet
DM – after the storm…the world turned off (voice over)

JOOMAN AND SULHEE
JM – I didn’t know you would show up
SH – lay down
JM – huh
SH – lay down
JM – we should talk
SH – I can’t put medicine on your back if you don’t lay down

SH starts to put the medicine on his c=back and asks him why he did that.

SH – you are really funny (she tries not to cry).

JM sits up and SH is crying.

JM – when you see Kim Chan-ho (the other intern) I am okay. I will wait. It is better if you don’t see him. But if you date him then I will wait for him. Just shoot me with a machine gun and I will still wait for you.
SH – so should I date him just to shoot you?
JM – I am going to wait for you until I become 50 years old
SH – do whatever you want. I am not the old SH, you won’t persuade me. In joson, people burned others if they had an afair. You hurt your toenails at Yejins and you burned your back. I am not sorry about any of it. I am just putting this ointment on you. Now lay down. (she hits him)

HOSPITAL
DM is getting an MRI. AR is crying as she looks at him. Kanako Hwang shows up.

Doctor – he will recover his hearing, it was temporary. The problem is, he has a little crack on the back of his head.

Coach – I cried looking at the phone
O – little bit?
C – a lot
O – that shows the real Hangbok-hees life, so just hold it tight and give it to someone
C – I thought you are super woman, but now you are cooler to see your human side
O – when I was young, I was an assistant at a studio. I just like to be in front of the camera. I wanted to settle down, but I wanted to be an actress.
C – so that is why you auditioned for the movie
O – I hid it to be successful, because Mom’s can’t apply as an actress.

It looks like Kanako Hwang became a super star actress maybe?

DONGMAN’S APARTMENT
Dm is laying down and sleeping and AR wants him to eat, but he is just sleeping. He sleeps all day, not moving. Wow, maybe he slept for several days! AR stayed there all this time and made juk for DM. It doesn’t look like he is eating anything though.

Ah, he finally woke up and he’s watching TV, but he looks nervous as he watches the TV. Maybe he still can’t hear? He turns it off and lays back down. Now JM comes in at night and takes care of DM and SH comes in in the morning and takes care of DM and Coach-nim comes in and takes care of DM. Now is is AR’s turn again and she is singing to him as he sleeps.

TITLE: CLOWNS ARE LAUGHING AT US

AR AND RFC OWNER
The RFC owner is talking to AR about how mma was boring, so he is trying to liven it up. He opens a door and shows AR all the RFC advertisments. Some uplifting music starts playing.

JOOMAN AT WORK WITH HIS BOSS
JM is tasting the food and they are talking about work, but then JM starts chocking up and almost crying. He stops talking and turns around. Tiny flashback of SH and JM eating lobster. JM wanted to buy lobster for SH, but SH said buying lobster and eating roaches is the same thing. But then SH said they can eat it. SH takes all the meat out and ives it to JM.

JM – why are you giving this to me? When you do this I feel angry
SH – why are you getting upset
JM – why do you make me a bad guy
SH – okay, I will eat all the tail
JM – It’s fine

OUTSIDE SULHEE’S PLACE
JM gives her another present outside her door and SH shows up.

SH – stop
JM – I cried at the workplace
SH – everyone knew that we dated
JM – we dated for 6 years and olnly had 2 months of trouble
SH – I don’t want to repeat that 2 months
JM – you also changed. You didn’t know the world, but now you know the world
SH – okay, so I changed
JM – I won’t stop. I am not going to meet anyone else or marry anyone else so come and put more ointment. If it’s inflamed then I will die!

JM ran back upstairs to his place.

AERA AND A FIGHTER
They are talking and AR said the fighter had an injury so isn’t he scared about getting back in the ring. The fighter said its nothing, he knew of some other players that died. AR is all like, why are you talking about that.

AERA AND DONGMAN
AR was yelling that she is home and all those things so DM could hear her. Then DM nbackhugs her.

DM – why are you yelling like that
AR – you can hear
DM – I heard you making all that noise
AR – ahhh you napunom-ah (bad guy)
DM – I was really scared, really really scared.

KANAKO HWANG AT SOME CEO OFFICE
She barges into the CEO’s or presidents office or something like that. THe secretary couldn’t stop her. They sit down to talk.

O – how have you been?
President – I was looking for you everywhere (he kneels in front of her)

DONGMAN AND AERA
DM – do you know how scary it is to not hear, i felt like i sunk
AR – so you can hear okay now
DM – just eat, it tastes good
AR – why are you so quiet, can you really hear?
DM – yeah
AR – so listen to me
DM – what
AR – you, you have a crack on your head.
Doctor – the problem is – he has a crack on the back of his head, it is not a big problem, but, the location of the crack is close to the hearing sensor, so if he has more hits on that location then you won’t be able to hear anymore.
DM – that is BS
AR – so you can’t fight anymore, I won’t let you
DM – okay, I will talk to the doctor first
AR – other fighters died
DM – that is extreme cases
AR – why should I look at those extreme cases
DM – if I just stop here I won’t start again
AR – if you fight again then we are done

DM thinks for a while.

KANAKO HWANG
O – more than 20 years past. SO know I won’t forgive you. So kneeling down doesn’t make my old life come back. So, I just want to at least watch you kneeling longer.

Flashback –

CEO – its already aired, we can’t just make the broadcast stop
O – rescue me PD, if the broadcast goes out….

BACK TO THE PRESENT
Bad PD is doing something and Kanako Hwang and the CEO come in. They stare at each other.

DONGMAN AND AERA
DM – you shouldn’t just threaten me like this
AR – If you fight again we aren’t friends anymore, we are just strangers
DM – (phone call) huh..I’m on TV?

PD CEO AND KANAKO HWANG
They are talking about using the broadcast. Kanako said she is his representatvie and they can’t put that broadcast out. It is 1 hour before the broadcast goes out.

AERA AND THE MARKET
She buys some mackerel to make DM’s brain work better or something like that.

BACK AT NAMIL APARTMENTS
AR is at DM’s place and hears a bunch of noises upstairs. I think she thinks that HR might die, so she runs up there and barges in.

AR – what is the chair for, why did you put it there. If you want to die then go somehwere and die, don’t die here.
HR – I wanted to change the bathroom light
AR – ah, okay

HR has a lot of bills from the bak and runs over to hide them.

HR – I am not recieving any money from them, because I am a bad person so I told them that I don’t need any money
AR – so that is why you came here to this cheap place?
HR – you know the type of person I am to DM, he willa ccept me again. You and DM are just friends. Don’t think Youve won
AR – for her, doing something like this is just pride (voice over)

AR helps her change the light and asks if she has been trying to change it for a week? HR holds the chair and AR changes HR’s light.

DONGMAN AND BAD PD
DM – don’t broadcast it. I don’t like it
PD – I told AR I am not like I was before, I am not sloppy like before.

flashback to the PD looking creepy and standing in front of AR’s place with strawberries. He said she wrote in messenger that she wanted strawberries. AR said he broke up with Chansook and then spread a bunch of rumors and now noone likes AR so know he can like AR. DM comes up and punches the PD!

DM – this is my 100 day vacation, if you do this again then I will bring my rifle and shoot you.

BACK TO THE PRESENT
The PD is saying that he is selling all DM’s childhood stories and he did his best to make DM popular and all those things. It looks like he is trying to help DM out.

TAKSU AND MANAGER
TS is awake and at the hospital and watching the show on the air or something like that. It looks like the PD shows that TS is the culprit and made DM look bad with the bad head butt.

BAD PD AND DONGMAN
DM – how did you make such a good show! You made my face shiny like photo shot!

DONGMAN’S PARENTS
They are both yelling about it.

Mom – don’t let him fight!
Dad – It is a sport!
sister – I want to see DM, I want to give him something

DONGMAN AND BAD PD
PD shows DM a photo of his daughter and his family.

DM – why are you following us around
PD – my daughter is really pretty, but she is bullied by some of her friends because the bully thought if noone liked her then he could play with her. I thought my past went to my daughter so that is why I visited you, to release my karma.

NAMIL STAIRS
Kanako Hwang and AR are talking and AR says let’s eat together, because they don’t have anyone to eat with.

JOOMAN’S MOM IS AT JOOMAN’S PLACE
Jooman’s Mom is looking around and realizing how great SH was to JM. Then she runs into SH outside.

JMMom – did you break up because of me or JM’s sisters? Don’t lie to me and tell me the truth. Did he have an affair?
SH – it wasn’t an affair
JMMom – JM’s father had 2 mistresses when he was alive. So don’t endure him and marry. My son is precious, but I have to make other kids precious too. I was jealous because JM was always on your side so it make me bitter.
SH – I was okay.
JM Mom – if you get back together, I won’t go to your house, you don’t have to come to my house anymore, I will tell his sisters not to do all the mean things to you anymore
SH – I’m sorry
JM Mom – I was stupid. I really want to have you so I just did it.
SH – Ommoni, I am really sorry we broke up.
Mom – If I don’t see you again, take care of yourself.

DONGMAN AND BAD PD
DM – I will visit your house
PD – do you know Hwang Bokee, the superstar?
DM – huh?

AERA AND KANAKO HWANG
AR – my father used to be a seaman, but he had a lot of family members, but he couldn’t catch sea well. So her Mom put all the tiny mackerels together and noone liked it. Noone makes mackerel soup, so he opened a mackerel soup store.
O – you speak so much when you eat.
AR – Ah, I will leave the soup, just eat quietly by yourself. You do these things, that is why you eat cup ramen all the time.

AR leaves annoyed, but Kanako Hwang starts crying quietly in her place.

FLASHBACK
Kanako Hwang is yelling at the PD. It looks like she is some sexy almost soft porn star. Maybe she was in a movie that was soft porn and she is begging the director to not release her past and to not show it on the media. Her kid will understand.

O – Ara, don’t touch Aera, I don’t want Aera to know that she is an erotic movie stars daughter.

She looks at a photo of Aera’s dad.

flashback and AR and O and Dad are there but AR is sleeping.
Aera’s dad – if she knows that you came back, then my parets will go crazy
Mom – I am going to Japan now, I just want to sing something for AR.

Now she is singing a song about clowns smiling at them (like the title of the episode). This is a pretty sad song.

DONGMAN
DM i s looking at an image of Kanako Hwang or something on his phone and all of a sudden he remembers that Kanako Hwang is Aera’s mom.

AERA AND NAMIL
Namil and AR are arguing and AR said he is like some disease. Flashback to how Namil and Kanako met. SHe hits him and tells him that he is her son from now on and if he acts that way then she will hit him. then to the present AR says the same thing, “kids like that need to get hit.” so now Namil knows that AR is the daughter.

Namil goes to Kanako and says he knows it is AR and that he was with her this entire time and tells her that they should go back to Japan. Let’s go back to Japan Umma. he has never seen her that sad before.

MMA GYM
Dongman’s sister came to the gym! It looks appa brought her. She can move her legs a little bit and she is wearing the sneakers that DM bought for her. But she still isn’t looking at him or talking to him.

DM – You still don’t want to talk to me, I will show you our gym
Sister – Don’t lose anymore
DM – you are talking to me know
Sister – why did you make me sad for 10 years.
DM – it is not becaues of you.
Sister – I am your biggest fan. It took me 10 years to gather all your things. So don’t lose anymore. I don’t like to look at you not standing up. I hate it even more than me not being able to stand up. So don’t do it.

His sister made a big scrap book of all of his things. it looks like the father didn’t even know about this.

They go inside and all these interviewers and everything are at the gym and the RFC set up the rematch. It looks like DM is getting a lot of sponsors and everything. But DM thinks he won’t be able to fight because of the crack. Coach tries to tell him that baseball players get hit all the time and they are okay, but DM thinks that if he fights again then he will have to give up something big.

DM – so I can heal?
AR – no, so you can stop fighting. when my grandmother went out to get fish, when the wave is high, she was rolling back the line, whenever you go to the sea, my mind is like frying beans. I can’t live like that.
DM – I am scared too, because I might not hear again, but the scarier thing is going back to my old life. This is a dream. So tomorrow, if someone asks me to become an exterminator again, I can’t live like that. I don’t want to live like that.
AR – honestly, I knew you couldn’t stop
DM – So, this is not only my dream, it is also my fathers and my coaches, AR, if you trust me one more time…
AR – we are not friends anymore

They stop talking and DM is pretty chocked up. He doenst say anything

DM – right, I can’t. I am, I can’t just hide and be timid. I didn’t just lve you while being timid. I can’t be your friend anymore.
AR – Okay, then I’m leaving
DM – AR, (crying) AR, (crying some more) Do you really have to do. Can’t you just stay by my side?
AR – I can’t see you, it is very difficult for me. It is really difficult. Just, just, I shouldn’t have dated you.

SHe removes her hand from his hand and walks away. DM is crying and standing and letting her walk away. But their music starts playing. He sits down and keeps crying, but he is trying not to cry but it is just pouring out of him. he is trying to stop though.

FADE OUT

EPILOGUE
Dong-man and Kanako hwang at kanako hwang’s place.

O – why are you here?
DM – ajumma, you have to protect AR now, I am not going to be able to do it anymore
O – I didn’t tell you, thank you so much
DM – you don’t have to thank me, in retrospect, it wanst
because of your candy, I just, Ij ust liked AR from the beginning.

Fighter: Since it’s only this much, I’m lucky.
AR: Lucky?
Fighter: Thinking of Sam Vasquez or Gary Goodridge, it is scary. (Sam Vasquez died in the ring. Gary Goodridge developed dementia from too many hits to the head)
AR: Why those athletes?

(Later in DM’s apartment)
AR: (speaking very loudly) I’m defrosting a porridge in the fridge, so make sure you eat it. Don’t just lie there, not eating anything…
(DM comes up and backhugs AR)
DM: Yah. Why are you making such a racket and shouting?
(AR turns around to look at him)
AR: You can hear? Can you hear everything now?
DM: Yes, I can hear everything now. I could hear you every bit of you making a racket just now.
AR: Oh, you enemy-like thing. Really.
(DM hugs AR again)
DM: I was really scared. Really scared.

(Lady Hwang walks into the office of a man)
Lady Hwang: How have you been?
(Lady Hwang and the man are both sitting in his office)
Lady Hwang: You look well.
Man: I looked for you everywhere.
(Man kneels to Lady Hwang)

AR gives DM an ultimatum. Lady Hwang goes to preview KK’s broadcast.

Lady Hwang: Even now, I can’t seem to forgive you. Just because you kneeled, it doesn’t return my times that were lost to me. However, just stay that way for a little longer. At least that, I want to see it for a little longer.

(flashback to younger Lady Hwang holding onto Man’s arm)
Man: It’s already been sent for broadcast, so what can I do? I can’t leave a hole in the broadcast. Why is a person who knows that acting like this? Making me uncomfortable. (he breaks Lady Hwang’s hold, so she goes to her knees in front of him)
Lady Hwang: Just once. Save me.
Man: Aish.
Lady Hwang: This broadcast can’t go out.
(end flashback)

(PD KK is in editing room with assistant)
KK: Stop. Stop. Go to the shot of Dong Man.
Asst: Is it really okay to just send this out like this?
KK: Yes, we can.
(Lady Hwang and Man walk in.)

(DM and AR walking up the staircase to their apartments)
DM: This is just an action, isn’t it? (He means that she’s only threatening and not meant to be carried out.)
AR: Whether it’s an action or not, you’ll find out if you grab a glove.
DM: No matter how much I love you, you shouldn’t threaten me like this. Is this something to be resolved by that?
AR: No matter how low a method I have to go, I’m determined to protect you. If you fight again, then you’re done with me. We can’t even be friends. You’ll never be able to see me.
(AR leaves DM on the staircase. DM receives a call from his father.)

(Lady Hwang and Man in KK’s editing room.)

Lady Hwang: The way I heard it, between Ko Dong Man and Jang Kyung Koo, there is a past of victim and assaulter, so is it okay for you to broadcast as you want.

DM: It feels like the world has collapsed. It just like if you were drowned at the bottom of the sea. I can’t even breathe
AR: Now you can really hear well, right? There are no other side effects?
DM: Yeah, I am now okay. Here, eat this. This is delicious, why aren’t you eating? (scoop some ice cream/shaved ice for her) But why are you so quiet?
AR: Dong Man, do you really can hear well?
DM: Yeah, I told you I can hear
AR: It means that you are now stable, right?
DM: What?
AR: Then, listen to what I’m going to say
DM: About what?
AR: There’s a fracture on your skull

*sorry, I’m not fluent enough to understand medical terms. What I understood is the fracture on his skull isn’t a big injury and will heal. But the fracture was near the cochlea and if DM got another injury around that area, he will lose his hearing*

AR: And if you got hurt on your head again, there’s a possibility that you will lose your hearing. You will feel like you lie at the bottom of the sea forever
DM: What kind of nonsense is that? I can hear and I’m fine
AR: In conclusion, you can’t do MMA anymore. I won’t let you
