VIP is a drama I am looking forward to, mostly for Jang Nara. Her performance in The Last Empress (Empress’ Dignity) was outstanding. That show was so crazy and yet her performance was all kinds of sincere, outraged, furious, comical, and bitter. I loved it! It looks like this new drama will give her a more vanilla plate to chew on, but I’m not complaining because, where The Last Empress was all over the place (in the best way possible), VIP looks more nuanced and quieter. (Though it is easy to be quieter than The Last Empress.)
VIP is touted as an office mystery drama where Jang Nara works for a team that deals with the most elite customers (aka VIPs) in a department store. She is married to Lee Sang-yoon who also works on the team. Everything appears to be gravy until the couple face an issue at work that causes their lives to fall apart. Because Lord knows the service industry is the hardest.
Since the two of them are married, I’m going to think more Misty level marriage relationship drama than romantic drama. Though, in this case, I’m going to assume that their relationship is great at the start of the show and slowly starts to deteriorate as the episodes progress. But this is all a guess on my part, who else wants to guess along with me?
Other people on the team include Kwak Sun-young who was excellent in Boyfriend, and Pyo Ye-jin who was so adorable in What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim and Fight for My Way.
VIP will air Monday’s and Tuesday’s at 22:00 KST on SBS and premieres October 7th. We plan on recapping this one as soon as it airs!

I cannot wait for this show to air!!!
Pyo Yejin was so cute in secretary Kim. Looking forward to this drama.
I was pleasantly supersized with Jang Nara’s acting in the Last Empire and Goback Bubu. Looking forward to it!
