EPILOGUE
Man-bok and he four soldiers are all arrested and brought into a scary looking dungeon jail room.
A man in the shadows watches them as men with guns point them at the 5 men.
Then the man in the shadows comes out, it is Jung-hyeoks father. The five men quickly salute him.
Father – My son and your superior and friend, Jung-hyeok went to the South. This is a secret mission. You are Jung-hyeoks team, who Jung-hyeok trusted the most. And you gave critical evidence for finding out my sons death. As Jung-hyeoks father, I want to ask you a special favor. Bring back Jung-hyeok.
They all look around shocked.
Cut to several busses driving along the highway. The words on the side say World Military Olympics. The soldiers are on the bus in sports uniforms looking around amazed.
Eun-dong thinks, wow , there are so many cars. Chi-soo says that South Korea should work hard to put a lot of cars ont he road becuase they know that we are coming.
The busses all drive around and people wave at them happily. They get off and start to walk inside. But The five men stay on the bus. Another man goes on the bus and tells them that the military olympics ends in two weeks. You must completel your mission by then. If not, then there is no guarantee to go back.
They all agree and starts to take off their sporting clothing, normal clothing is underneath.
The four soldiers all go to eat something. They are at a convenience store and bought ramen. So now they are asking each other what kind they got. But they don’t know what is going on. So Eun-dong bought the one with the biggest lid.
Guang-bum says his title, it is an Italian dish title. Joo-myeok tells them that he has Jajangmyung. When I wtch dramas, I want to eat jajangmyun so much. It should be similar.
Eun-song thinks that there are so many ramens in SOuth Korea. CHi-soo tells him to wake up! We should not be hooked by ramen. We should think. If they have enough rice, why do they eat ramen? It is because they do not have rice.
But then they see manbok coming up with a very hot haepban (instant rice). He tells them that they have an ailse of rice here!
The five of them start to eat as the news says that North Koreans are there for the military olympics. They share the rice.
The news continues speaking and says that all these players without their guns and knives will compete.
eun-dong asks, where shuold we go now?
CUt to them walking up the treet looking so stiff and noticable as they walk in a line side by side. Chi-soo says not to be so noticable! They tell him he is the most oticable!
Seung-joon tells them to stop, don’t get notice, walk slwowly.
So they start to walk slowly. Some guy behind them tells them to stop, how long have you been in the South.
Joo-myeok says, 2 days. This guy tells him they are so noticable, are you in the 11th department for a special mission. You look so new to the SOuth.
Chi-soo says, it is not that, we just have to take someone with us. The guy tells them, that is not an easy thing. Man-bok asks, who are you?
A Man in a bright green track suite comes out in front of them and puts his delivery food on the ground (this is so funny, this is Kim Soo-hyun reprising his tole in the movie Secretly, Greatly from 2013)
They tell him that it looks lilke he belongs here. He says that he is waiting on a mission. They tell him that he looks like he is completely adapted there. The man struts a bit and says that people live there, don’t worry.
But then a man tells him, Hey DOng-gu, go delvier! So DOng-gu acts like he is a bit slow and happy and tells them that he will deliver soon!
Then he turns back to the soldiers looking like a normal stiff soldiers and tells them, I will give you a present. You can get paid 11 hundred won more than minumum wage. 9, 690 won pers hour and all the food you can eat when you want.
No one cares about it so no one will suspect it so I will give you my job. ood luck. He runs off acting like Dong-gu laughing nd skipping as he runs down the street.
The North Korean guys are so confused.
Fade Out
COMMENTS
Oh, they ended it at a perfect moment with Jung-hyeok and Seri! I also love the epilogue. That was pretty adorable with the five of them walking around looking so noticable. How will these dears ever find Jung-hyeok?
It looks like there might not be an episode of Crash Landing on You next week due to New Years. But it has not been confirmed. So it could still air next week.
Also, be sure to let us know if you like keeping the episode to two parts for these 1.5 hr long episodes, or breaking into 3 parts so that you can get at least some of the recap a bit quicker!

I hope they don’t pre empt next week. They will ruin the ratings u know. And am so excited with another great cameo. Who taught that joo muk’s prize and wish will actually come true so soon?
Thanks for the recap ♥️♥️♥️
Is there a word for “more perfect”? It seems like this show reaches new heights with every episode! I laugh. I cry. I can’t wait for the next episode. Thank you so much for your recaps again, and 3 parts is ok with me, but really do whatever you have to do to make it easiest for you.
I am so afraid for our little ducklings now, but I am glad all the characters are together. We will get a whole new flavor with the action moving to Seoul in the next episodes. I am hoping for a partnership among the ducklings, Se Ri’s secretary and the insurance agent – fingers crossed for that!
And, the OST is awesome too!
Whichever is easiest for you.. thank you for these recaps . Sooo looking forward to the weekend for the episodes.. No matter how many times I watch the episodes , I still cry again and again over my favorite scenes!
Yes, for the 3 parts! & your endeavours are very much appreciated!
From my Facebook page: I would really like some comments from someone who has seen this because I am sort of stunned that I like it. This is a South Korean TV series that has shown four episodes out of 16, releasing one every Saturday and Sunday. The series tells the secret romance between a South Korean heiress of a conglomerate and a North Korean officer. Yoon Se-ri (Son Ye-jin) is an heiress to a conglomerate in South Korea. One day while testing a clothing line for paragliders, she gets blown off course by a Wizard of Oz like storm and ends up hanging from a tree on the North Korean side of the DMZ . There, she meets Ri Jung-hyuk (Hyun Bin), who is a North Korean army officer. He tries to protect her and hide her. Of course they fall in love by the end of episode 4. In the meantime, the heiress’ family in South Korea battles over control of the company, and our male hero investigates a corrupt military unit that also has something to do with his brother’s death ten years prior. Finally, there’s another subplot about the two protagonists meeting breifly in Switzerland some years before.
Now I know nothing about South Korean tv or movies; this is probably the first one I have ever watched. It is interesting because: (1) It’s a fairly realistic film about North Korean culture and politics, and those are rare. The NK military has good guys and bad guys and lots of just ordinary characters. We see rural poverty and Pyongyang luxury, although most of the first four episodes take place in a small village near the DMZ. Dear Leader is rarely mentioned, but always in the background. (2) There is great chemistry between the lead actors and the guy is especially hunky and also a really good actor. (3) It’s like dropping Ivanka Trump into a small town in Appalachia with no way to get out (see also Goldie Hawn in Overboard or Madonna in Swept Awayand having Don Jr and Eric fight over her clothing and perfume businesses) . (4) The supporting cast is unusually good–I read that a lot of the supporting actors are big stars in Korea. (5) The plot, while farfetched, is not ridiculous–in fact it’s pretty creative.
Anyway, I binge-watched the first four episodes and wish the other 12 were available. It’s a cross between a soap opera, a romantic comedy, Sucession, and a military crime thriller/detective story. It’s( very possible you will think it’s stupid, but maybe not. Grade: A minus.
P.S. In reading about this I came upon a site called Drama Milk. Their slogan is “We Cater to the Obsessed.”

Okay, you have mentioned a show that I keep hearing is amazing – Succession! I need to try and watch it, but I don’t have HBO, argh!
I love all that you wrote here! It is a realistic look at North Korea and actually a former North Korean who is living in South Korean mentioned the same thing on her Instagram.
Thank you for the shout out on your Facebook!
Thank you for the recap! I love this show and the great chemistry between the leads. There are no scheduled episodes on Netflix this weekend though. The series resumes in Feb.

Thank you for the heads up, Jjuna!
I love these recaps. As I’m in the UK, typically these recaps appear before the episode is aired on Netflix so I read the recaps to find out what is in store. This is such a good drama. I love that they got Se-ri back to South Korea before the end of the series – because dragging it out and potentially constantly failing to find a way would have been ridiculous. Equally, I like that Cheol-Kang got found out as the corrupt, murderous little bully he is but just turns into the ultimate villain by trying to get our heroes’ girl at all costs!
I must admit to being a bit confused re the timeline though. In episode 9, Dan mentioned that she wanted Ri Jung-Hyeok to stay in jail for a few more days… Which I considered was the time until they were due to marry. Thus, he wouldn’t have time to get out of the wedding. Nothing has been mentioned about the wedding – Dan refused to accept that the engagement was broken and went about buying her wedding dress and making arrangements, but it seems that at least 2 weeks has passed and everyone (Dan’s mum and Ri Jung-Hyeok’s folks) don’t seem to care that the wedding isn’t happening… I just want someone to acknowledge this damn wedding (and clear up how much time has passed between Se-ri getting out of the North and getting back into her routine or missing Ri Jung-Hyeok in the South)!

I think the translation might have been wrong? Not sure. When we watched it, it seemed as if she said to stay in jail until the wedding. I’m not sure if I remember a specific time.
But you are right, the time line is fast. Anyone else know?
I think she left NK acouple days after Christmas and it was Jan 6th or 7th shown on her phone ( when she couldn’t sleep at night and kept looking at her phone) at night. So about 2 weeks

V, would you mind to translate episode 11 preview? Thank you.
