Character Chart: Awaken (English Translation) Kdrama

Here is our character chart for Awaken where all the names, positions, and associations of each main character are translated and organized for your viewing pleasure!

It helps tremendously with live recapping because it is what we use to remember who each person is, what their initials are, and what their characters title/job is. I go back and forth between using names, initials, or job titles depending on how fast I’m typing or if it seems like a paragraph is turning into character soup.

The Character chart can be kind of spoilery at times because we go by character descriptions from the website while creating it, so tread with caution. Also, writers in Kdramaland tend to change their storyline around midway through, so these initial character descriptions and maybe even names might (might) not match later episodes. It has happened before. But, that’s also part of the fun sometimes!

V, I just found out ep. 1 is already on Viki but the subtitle is not up yet.

I have seen Seol Hyun and Lee Chung Ah in their previous work but Namgoon Min is new to me.

There have been a few suspense, crime and mystery this year (and a few very good ones). It kind of sets a higher standard. I hope I won’t be disappointed.

The first episode looked amazing. Hopefully Viki can get the subs up quick! We might try and live recap this one starting next week! (Or maybe tomorrow, but that is a big maybe).

I watched the 1st 10-15 min so far but I will finish ep. 1 tonight. I have been watching dramas from other Korean networks lately. I would say tvN definitely have more budget than OCN and MBC. Even OCN and tvN are “sister network”, the difference is very noticeable. tvN productions are more generous on filling the screen with standbys, quality of their special effects is way better, all together make a product more appealing, making it more “appropriate” for oversea market and Netflix. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of good dramas on OCN and MBC and I choose a good drama any time over one with just good showing.

tvN does have good production value. Probably the best of everyone. I feel like OCN has, overall, more consistent story development from beginning to end. So I usually like watching OCN shows, the problem is that they are usually so scary!
