We are going to pick up the revenge medical drama Xcross, Cross (크로스) to recap. Not sure if we will do a live-live recap or a directly after it airs live recap (aftercap?) or a live-ish recap on our own time sometime (nightcap?). Yeah, I made all those terms up.
The problem with a live recap with Cross is that Cross airs at the same time as Radio Romance and we were thinking of live recapping Radio Romance. I have had my fill of romance-romance dramas for the moment though so Cross might be a good change of pace. A high action-revengy-tear-filled-heart-racing change of pace, but you know, it’s still a change.
Cross is popping off in the DC forums, but it isn’t that big of a deal on the international scene. WHYYYYYYYYY? I really don’t understand how a drama can have that much of a difference in the DC forums when compared to the Soompi forums. But on top of that, Dramabeans isn’t really covering it at all right now either. That is so strange. Maybe they will pick it up once it airs though?
Whatever the case, we are going to check it out. If we like it more than Radio Romance then we will switch the live recap to Cross and do Radio Romance as an aftercap OR we might keep Radio Romance as our live recap and aftercap Cross since Cross comes on thirty minutes before Radio Romance (so the video should be released sooner right? Or will that not happen since no one seems to care about Cross? WE CARE.).
Cross airs this coming Monday & Tuesday, January 29th on tvN at 21:30 Seoul. See you there!

Saw the ads for the drama but haven’t seen much preview coverage.
It’s just my guess, so here goes nothing:
1. None of the current hot A-listers(?)star in it
– audiences do get attracted to the hot stars eg the fuss over the upcoming Park Shin Hye and Hyun Bin vehicle.
2. Sometimes the domestic Korean audiences’ taste is quite different from that of international audiences.
-Scarlet Heart Ryeo fell flat in Korea but international audiences loved it. There’s a Change petition for Season 2.
I watched the original Chinese series and it was wildly popular. But the sequel (Chinese) was so awful, I couldn’t even watch till the end. And that’s coming from a fan of the first season.
Different tastes would be my best guess. But hey, let us know if it turns out well, it’d be nice to have a change. I heard Black had an ending that made lots of people tear their hair out LOL
That makes so much sense! I was wondering if it just didn’t have enough Hallyu star power, but I thought Go Kyung Pyo was a big enough star internationally. But perhaps he isn’t a current hot A-lister like a Hyun Bin or Park Shin Hye.
Scarlet Heart Ryeo was so crazy successful overseas! I didn’t watch it, but I couldn’t help but follow along with all the fandom. It has so many postings on Soompi it’s ridiculous. That show did have a lot of popular stars though the international fandoms combined could have been the reason it was a crazy success overseas.
I heard Black turned super makjang, but was great in the beginning.
I’ll let you know how Cross is through the recaps! Hopefully it is good enough to watch and recap.
?Thanks!
I’ll be sure to read the first recap. Still, saving my attention span (notoriously short lol) for Hwayugi.
Saw Lee Seung Gi is back in full swing on the variety show circuit. You have to wonder doesn’t he get tired?? Lol good thing the army probably increased his stamina LOL
Oh my gosh, I know right. Didn’t he shoot a movie too or something like that?
Most of my attention is also on Hwayugi, especially now that I am Not a Robot has wrapped up. Hwayugi is just a super fun drama and it has no competition. Hopefully the ratings continue to rise.
LOL Hope he doesn’t burn out…
Yup, they had a rough patch with the FX screwup and also the terrible accident on set. Hope things go well for them.
See ya tomorrow!
OMG, it’s almost tomorrow already? See you there!
Started Cross and cannot wait to see how things play out. Radio Romance doesnt grab my attention.
The first two episodes of Cross really do a good job of pulling a casual viewer into the storyline, that’s for sure (that’s what I was anyway). 🙂 After the third and fourth episodes, I am also curious as to where the story will go.
