Anyone who loves Korean dramas loves a good romance. Plus, it isn’t really fall without a cozy romance to sink your pumpkin spiced latted self into. So, what Korean romance dramas are premiering in November and December of 2019?
This latest batch of Korean romances has a Wizard of Oz-esque trip through North Korea (in Crash landing on You), beautiful people who don’t like beautiful people but are beautiful people (Love With Flaws), a three strikes and you’re out love story (Stove League), and the melo-ist of melos but with chocolate (Chocolate). Read below for a more detailed description of each!
1. CRASH LANDING ON YOU (Romantic-Comedy)

Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin star in a ridiculous set up of a very wealthy South Korean heiress (Son Ye-jin) who makes a surprise paragliding emergency landing in North Korea (yes, really) and has to be hidden by a North Korean officer (Hyun Bin) who, of course, falls head over heals in love with her.
The concept is just – what? But the writer, Park Ji-Eun, is AMAZING (My Love From Another Star, Legend of the Blue Sea, Queen of Housewives, and The Producers). She is no novice to strange plots, so I feel like we should be in excellent hands. Throw two legitimate super stars in the mix and it is a love line straight to me heart.
2. LOVE WITH FLAWS (Romantic-Comedy)

Love with Flaws is a romance where a girl (Oh Yeon-seo), who has three very handsome brothers, falls in love with a boy (Ahn Jae-hyun), (who looks like he could be her brother), but doesn’t want to date him because he is too handsome and she does not like handsome guys because she has to deal with her handsome brothers all day long.
He does not like beautiful women because he was dumped for being ugly and is obsessed with his appearance ever since. He now loves being the center of attention. They meet and argue over prettiness and I’m sure pettiness so this is a bicker-to-love story that might be pretty fun to check out.
3. STOVE LEAGUE (Romantic-Comedy)

In baseball, hot-stove-league refers to the off-season where fans have to gather around a hot stove to stay warm until the next season. So the drama Stove League is set in the off-season as two baseball managers, Namkoong Min and Park Eun-bin, try to position their baseball teams in the best spot for greatness in the upcoming season.
It looks like both their teams are the worst, so they are trying to go from the bottom to the top, y’all. But they are on opposite sides so one person’s success is the others failure. However, they manage to fall in love anyway. Foul ball!
4. CHOCOLATE (Romance)

Possibly the drama with the most tear jerks of the four as it is set in a hospice. Though neither one of the main characters (Yoon Kye-sang and Ha Ji-won) are actually checked in to the hospice (unless they give us a twist! He was a patient the whole time!).
They have a fated backstory where Yoon Kye-sang cooked for Ha Ji-won in his small sea-side town. This led to her growing up and becoming a chef. He, on the other hand, became a neurosurgeon. They re-meet at the hospice were love flows like – well – chocolate?
Chocolate premieres after My Country: The New Age (Nov. 29th); Love With Flaws premieres after Extraordinary You (Nov. 27th); Crash Landing On You premieres after Melting Me Softly (December); and finally, Stove League premieres after Vagabond. Though that could mean that Stove League could get pushed into December with Vagabond’s current one episode a week airing schedule.
And those are the four romance dramas premiering in November & December of 2019. Of these romances I am definitely most interested in Crash Landing on You because it looks ridiculous, but with a star writer at the helm and star actors at the sails, it looks like the makings of a big hit. Though we are going to check them all out because you never know when a drama could surprise you (I’m looking at you Come and Hug Me, now come and hug ME).
